Does anyone have any recommendations for cheap ovulation tests?

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 22:55

Never found they worked.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 22:58

I drew the line at epidural because it could potentially slow labour down....

dor I only ever had joy with the clear blue :) but ask Kat, she has a good knowledge on the subject iirc!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 23:48

Dorothy... Yes! Give me a second to find link...

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 23:50

Dorothy... these ones cheap and work brilliantly for me. I get first 'line' approx 5dpreo whereas all other OPKs I've used don't figure out what's going on til the day before

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 23:53

Otherwise, what Hest said. I'm concerned there isn't a hospital in the land with a big enough drug store for me. faith despite others not wanting to know I need to know how much it hurts control freak and if its true you forget it all afterwards, and also if the first shit is like labour all over again. Feel free to PM! Are you home and enjoying baybee hugs or am I missing a whole piece of the hospital process?

DolomitesDonkey · 15/04/2013 06:59

merkin I had an induced back-to-back monitored-on-my-back labour and I threatened to jump out of the window if they didn't "sort it aaaaaaaaht" (no contractions to constant in less than 25 mins). I then went for morphine and it was lovely. So lovely in fact that I have it every other day whether I need it or not.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 15/04/2013 07:07

Dor, I still have Kat's CBFM if that could be of use to you. She gave me permission to pass it on to another BESH.

CD53 here and still no ov. We did the sechs on Saturday so any potential eggy needs to pop before Wednesday if I'm going to be in with a shot. HWHNN is now away until 26th April Hmm

Hope you had and the snuggly one had a good night Faithy Grin

No idea on the ov stick, dor, soz. I never even tried them.

CD44 and still no droid. I wonder if it's worth wasting another fiver yet. No signs of diffment at all, apart from slightly tingly nips, so it really would be wasting it.

faif, I woke up this morning thinking how much I liked your baybee's name. I think you have set a pattern we should all follow, come what may. I very much look forward to the merkinbaybee's birth certificate :)

CaptainMoll · 15/04/2013 07:49

Norf, I too look forward to the mini merkin. Moll was really high on my list of baybee names years ago before the trend for Molly took off. Dammit.

I just finally got my bloody OV spike! Two days after giving up the cycle as a dud and letting BE get some sleep. I keep missing the event horizon. Grr.

Dor, I use the same OV sticks as Merk just recommended. The thing I've found is that I have to take the faint line as a positive (the instructions say a faint line is neg) or I miss the shag window. I ran out part way through this month, hence the cock down up this cycle. Otherwise they're good, and you certainly get a lot for little money.

FriendofDorothy · 15/04/2013 08:50

Thanks Frank but I have a CBFM but I haven't had a droid in over a year so can't set it. Some t'internet sources suggest that there is no point using it whilst breastfeeding so cheapies all the way.

I know it seems mental but we are going to crack on straight away for number 2. If it takes as long as it took with The Little Mister I will be nearly 40. Or it might happen quick smart now I am no longer fucked am fixed.

Who knows.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 15/04/2013 09:11

Not the easiest night, have been struggling with bf but all good this morning and been on 45 minutes already! Had to top up with formula overnight but I'm determined to keep going with the boobs.

Yes I was surprised MSB was cool with the MN NN/middle name but it just seemed so apt, that was chosen from day 1 really!

Oh yes babyfaith was back to back in the end, did I mention that? Turned in last 48 hours the monkey! merk I will PM you if you want!

dor my friend got diffed on her 6th/last dose of clomid then dropped the butter dish with dc2. She maintained getting pregnant reset everything! So much so she sent her DH for the snip! :)

EuroShaggleton · 15/04/2013 10:47

I've always loved that name, faif. I also like Honor, but I am sure if I called a baby that, she would turn into a slapper as a teenage horror just to spite me!

Dor I can't believe you are going to crack on already! Blimey. Mind you, I did say when diffed that if we were going to fit in 2, KFZK had better make a start in the delivery suite.

HesterShaw · 15/04/2013 10:54

I'm resigned to none or one, unless I get me some OMGIVF/IUITWINZ.

FrankellyMyDearIDontGiveADamn · 15/04/2013 12:36

My BF (with the 5 month old) said they are going to start ttc again shortly. They're not using any protection anyway and as it took them 2 years for this win, and she's 37 this year, there's not much sense hanging around.

How you feeling Hesty?

OP posts:
evilgiraffe · 15/04/2013 12:57

That's my plan too, Dor (assuming we get as far as having one in the first place) - crack on for another and hope pregnancy-reset works. It makes me laugh that they tell everyone to use contraception after giving birth - really no need for the barrens!

Although, I'm starting to feel a little calmer about the whole thing, and more like adoption is where we'll go. We'll try IVF, but I'm feeling rather serene and not expecting it to work - more like ticking a box so I know we've tried, so we can move on with adoption. Not that I've had that conversation with HTB, mind you.

JethroTull · 15/04/2013 15:05

Blimey Dor you are sounding confident about number 2. I still can't vocalise about an actuall baybee being here so maybe I'm just extra bitter....

Draff I never expected it to work. I always thought it might work eventually but not to be as bloody lucky as we were.

Lucky is more of a cat's name than a baybees......

TWinklyLittleStar · 15/04/2013 15:10

I can't imagine ever having a baybee.

HesterShaw · 15/04/2013 15:22

Me neither. It always surprises me when I baybee turns up at the end of a pregnancy.

And I can't ever ever ever ever imagine seeing the line myself.

FriendofDorothy · 15/04/2013 17:07

No I'm not confident at all. Quite the opposite, which is why I can't bring myself to wait. All that time as a BESH means that I can't settle for an 'oh we'll see what happens' sort of attitude.

Does that make sense?

HesterShaw · 15/04/2013 17:33

Er...AIBU to slightly freak out that I recognise barely any of the names on the PESH fred now? How long have I been here? Some of the names on the LAID list I don't recognise either.

JethroTull · 15/04/2013 17:38

Hest I think Bluer (now Pinkr) was a BESH for a short while as was Fertility, I don't remember Jupiter but I did have a massive spell of being away under a rock as I couldn't cope with waiting waiting waiting for a letter to turn up.

JethroTull · 15/04/2013 17:40

How long were you BESHing for Dor?

HesterShaw · 15/04/2013 17:43

Oh yes of course I know Bluer. Missed the namechange.

Northey · 15/04/2013 17:47

fertility only had a very short stay with us. Think two or three weeks or something.
