Is the pic on another other place? I can't see it..

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 11:41

Oh she's all scrunched and weeny and new

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 12:27

Hello all! I haff my baybee. She is so very weeny, came out faster than a speeding bullet (went from 1cm to fully dilated in less than two hours). Despite my I want all the drugs I did it on 2 paracetamol and dihydrocodiene. It really hurt but totally worth it.

Waves pom poms for the TFP.....

DolomitesDonkey · 14/04/2013 12:28

How wonderful! Grin

EuroShaggleton · 14/04/2013 12:47

Nice laying, faif. Bloody hell that was quick! Enjoy your day with your snuggly new arrival!

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 13:13

Arf at "it really hurt"! No way! But at least it didn't go on for 40 hours or something. Well done you. Are you ok now? Not butchered or owt?

Congrats!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 13:18

faith what a really special day. Amazed at braveness of no pain relief!!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 13:19

But I didn't want a hippy labour..I wanted the drucks! Not even fricking gas and air!!! Have a tear and been stitched up. Really rather tender but am ok. Totally worth it! All of it.

TWinklyLittleStar · 14/04/2013 13:33

'didn't want a hippy labour' - snort! Glad to see you didn't tear your sense.of humour. So pleased for you.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 13:38

Come back soon before you forget and tell me how much it really hurts

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 13:40

Trust me Merk, you really don't want to know....I did all the classics like tell him he could do it instead, he's definitely having the next one, I wished we were penguins and I could go off fishing.....I am trying to make up for the lack of drucks during labour by taking whatever is on offer now...

alwyn · 14/04/2013 13:43

Congratulations faif, she is beautiful!

Arf at "didn't want a hippy labour" as well!! And to think you were being all "I'm still pregnant" the other day!

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 13:48

WHY DIDN'T YOU GET THE FRICKIN DRUGS???????????????????????

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 13:48

Laughing my head off at the penguins comment.

I will remember that one.

JethroTull · 14/04/2013 14:02

I actually really don't want to know how much.it hurts. Ignorance will be bliss if I ever get that far. I was there when DSis had her first; put me off for years.

evilgiraffe · 14/04/2013 14:23

Excellent work, faif, congratulations! :)

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 19:45

The worst thing about the labour was thinking it was going to be that hard for hours. I was told 1/2 cm per hour....oh the relief when she said I could just push her out! It was too quick between contractions to articulate pain relief requests...diamorphine would have had time to work anyway!

Definitely recommend a tens machine...sure it helped!

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 20:08

Why didn't they give you gas and air though? WHY?

FriendofDorothy · 14/04/2013 20:28

Faith I was exactly the same. I did labour on 2 paracetamol and gas and air (although my baybee was a little bigger)

If I had known how quick it was going to be I would have found it much easier to deal with!

HesterShaw · 14/04/2013 20:47

I imagine I will do labour, if I ever get that far, on every drug known to obstetrics as I have a stupidly low pain threshold.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 14/04/2013 20:48

Well I actually wailed like a banshee coped with the contractions 'really well' (apparently) as long as I remembered to breathe (they had to tell me each time!). I honestly don't think anyone knew I was in established labour - MSB said a Shock look went between the two midwives when she actually checked! The main MW said plan a home birth next time as I won't make it to the hospital in time! Hmm next time, we'll see!

JethroTull · 14/04/2013 21:02

Hest I'm with you. I'm up for any drugs going!

FriendofDorothy · 14/04/2013 21:37

Heheh they said that to me as well faif. I only got to the hospital 45 minutes before The Little Mister made his appearance.

I thought I would do every drug known to man and woman, but sometimes it doesn't work out like that.

(In fact I was in much more pain after the birth than labour itself).
