Well three is the maximum they'll do actually. Any more than that and the cycle would have been abandoned. They really can't run the risk of quads. Even trips is really pushing it, unlikely as it is (1 in 100 apparently). And of successful IUI pregnancies, 1 in 3 is twins . If triplets materialise, they offer you the chance of selective termination. I can't imagine facing that.

It's the same with OI, they'll let you produce up to 3 follicles 14mm and bigger, but any more and they cancel.

However make no mistake BESHes, I am under no illusion about the chances of success. They are very low. I looked at the clinic's success rate for women in the 38-40 age bracket and it was 1 in 8 for 2009. I know that isn't a statistic, just a record. But don't get too breathless with anticipation - I'm certainly not :)
