Trying to Conceive Thread . . . .3!!

Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

Bunny, what dose of Clomid are you on this time?? Do you have to go back this month or after 2 cycles?? Keep trying, you may get a surge tomorrow. Are you doing temping too this time? Hugs {{{}}}

Two things you all might find interesting: one is from the Guardian earlier this week about ivf but also includes trouble in conceiving naturally. That one is here and the other is from this month's Red Magazine which has a feature about fertility at different ages of your life. In the 30s section they featured a website that looks at pre-conception health and lifestyle, here .
Haven't studied the 2nd one in detail yet but am, going to now. AF has shown signs of appearing for tomorrow and have decided to be pro-active and stop fannying around feeling sorry for myself.

futurity · 06/02/2004 10:03

Think my AF is due Sunday ..so tomorrow I should feel the first aches associated with it. Can't remember last time if I didn't get those..just remember being 2 days late and knowing I was pregnant (as I was never late). I will resist buying preg test until Tuesday if it doesn't show up!!

M2T · 06/02/2004 10:13

Congrats Eyelash!

I really hope my fertility sprinkle helps more of you.

Futurity - From my experience, and going by what I have read from other posters here, having cramps/period pains is pretty common after you've conceived. I had them for 2 weeks and was convinced that my AF would start at any moment with my ds and this pregnancy too.

NorfolkTurkey · 06/02/2004 12:54

eyelash - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

futurity · 06/02/2004 13:08

Well I have had mild cramps for the last week so wonder if that is a sign? Oh well..only time will tell!

dejags · 06/02/2004 13:33

Eyelash

Brilliant news... congratulations....

Kay1 · 06/02/2004 16:28

moomin - thanks for those links - i've just looked at the guardian article and it's really interesting - 'more than one cup of coffee a day can make it take 50% longer to conceive' - oh my god!! i've had 3 cups today already! It also says about ibuprofen too, which i take for period pains - do you think that could still have impact?

I also probably drink too much and have too much stress - both from job and just because of ttc. I don't want to get too worried about it all, but it did really make me think about what i could be doing to look after myself more.....

Moomin · 06/02/2004 21:40

I've taken some very positive steps today. We got our results from initial tests from our GP this afternoon and everything seems to be in working order. We're now being referred to the fertility consultant and should get an appt through in a few months.

In the meantime, I've made some enquiries into having some reflexology and have now got the name of a lady who specialises in treatment for women with fertility problems. I think I have been very stressed recently and this could help me relax and focus more positively. I'm speaking to her on Monday and apparently she also specialises in diet and nutrition, so I'll be able to pass on her words of wisdom to anyone who's interested.

bunny2 · 06/02/2004 21:44

Hi Moomin, good luck with the reflexology. I have heard good things about it, and about acupuncture too. Let us konw how you get on.

Phew, cd15 finally got a surge on my pissy stick! . Off to bed

WSM · 06/02/2004 21:50

Am not a TTC'er but wanted to say a huge congrats to you, eyelash

tillymint · 06/02/2004 21:59

Moomin
I had reflexology, with unexplained fertility (and only one tube). It worked! Am peregnant now and have a 6mth old (at 41).
Goodluck, and beleive.

You may wish to visit a homeopath aswell, to get your cycle 'sorted'.

jellycat · 07/02/2004 09:00

Yippee bunny !

futurity · 07/02/2004 13:17

In a bad mood!! Just ignore me when I say I won't buy preg testing kits until after I am due becuase I did yesterday..I was in Boots and the First Response leapt out at me! Anyway..did it and negitive Then about an hour later my aches and pains turned up and have had them today as well as well as being in a horrible mood..so roll on AF as I know it is on its way.

GRRRR!

Kay1 · 08/02/2004 13:47

Bad luck futurity - it's really hard to not do a test isn't it. As it gets nearer and nearer to AF, i find that i just want to know AND NOW! The fact they do those early test kits doesn't help my bank balance either.

If it is AF for you this time - best wishes for next month.

futurity · 08/02/2004 13:54

Thanks Kay1. Pains still here but no period yet..due on today though.

fisil · 08/02/2004 18:21

What do you make of this ladies?

Wednesday: spot
Thursday: spot
Friday: spot
Saturday: nothing
Sunday: nothing

So, three days of spotting, then nothing. Usually three days of spotting then full on AF. Certainly not seen a gap between spotting & AF before - usually it works itself up. DP has suggested the stress at work playing with my body as an alternative solution. Today is cd 28.

tillymint · 08/02/2004 18:30

fisil'
A bit personal, but are the spots red, or prune?
tilly

fisil · 08/02/2004 18:35

Two or three quite bright streaks (a couple of centimetres long, slightly thinner than thread) the first couple of times, then a sort of russet coloured goo. Don't know how to put this delicately - it was never enough to "hit the knickers"!

tillymint · 08/02/2004 18:48

Do a test, sounds like remnants of an old cycle clearing out.

But if you get much more russet let me know.

Good Luck, fingers crossed!
tilly

fisil · 08/02/2004 18:56

What would more "russet" mean?

eyelash · 08/02/2004 19:12

Fisil

Any chance it was an implantation bleed? If I remember rightly your lh surge was day 15(?) so it could be. Any other symptoms?

Fingers crossed for you and everybody else waiting to test!

Thanks again for all the great messages. Assuming the scan is good on Friday I will join the October thread. I hope to see some of you there.

fisil · 08/02/2004 19:16

Eyelash, you've made my day, I'm really touched. I can't believe you remembered which day I surged! That's made me feel better already. Will probably wake up with af tomorrow, but if no show by the end of the day, I'll pop into the chemist on my way home.

fisil · 08/02/2004 19:17

Oh, and other symptoms is extreme tiredness & snappiness, but it might be my job!
