Entrant criteria: TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, OPK & EWCM obsession, NO instadiffers. (Thread 6)

Connie your Oct and Mar charts are remarkably similar. They have the same pattern of temps at day 4 and day 7, a drop at day 10 and a rise at day 11. I'd expect another rise tomorrow before you start to see some pre O dips. Again still think you likely O'd earlier due to trigger in Oct but the pattern is the same.

Tallyra · 14/03/2013 16:21

Oh my god Merkin, I've been trying to read this all day and failing miserably - saw your post about the line at lunch in the staff room and I wanted to jump up and tell everyone about it, but then I realised they wouldn't care because most of them have kids anyway and they don't know I'm trying and I might have started some random weird uncomfortable chat about miscarriage, HG and instadiffing. I have my fingers crossed for you, let's hope your second tests are even darker!!!!!

Tallyra · 14/03/2013 16:24

By the way, I temped this morning. First time the temp came out at 34. But I was so half asleep I could have read it wrong. Thought it wasn't quite right, switched it back on again to try again and got an err message, so went back to sleep. Tried again ten minutes later and got a much more reasonable 36.4something. This is actually all quite exciting. I have 2 temps on a chart now! Woo!!

Trouble is, the noise it makes is horrible and dh, who has tinnitus from working on a farm was highly offended. Hmm. Might not be temping for long.

My thermometer's not too bad Tally as I experimented on Sunday & managed to take temp without waking up DP. I asked him if he heard the beep & he said not. However, it's not a special BBT one so we'll see if it's actually sensitive enough to detect the big O surge when required.

Jorge are you the new pope? You may have to translate as my Spanish is a bit rusty. Something about condoms being from the devil so that as many women as possible can be blessed?!!

Thank you tally. I know enough about peesticks to not be worried about the line getting darker, a line is a line, and the amount of dye varies so much even within one brand/pack. Provided my line stays there dark or light I'm happy!
Well done on the temp. I never try to remember my temp, just turn the thermometer off and check later. If yours is anything like mine if you press and hold the button when you turn it on it will display the last temp taken. My only other tip is to get it in the right place in your mouth, below but one side of your tongue (at the back) in the 'heat pocket'. I found the first temp in FF exciting and then the rest of the cycle boring/frustrating as I waited, firstly for my crosshairs at O (very exciting!) and secondly for my first view on how long my LP was! Then it gets better as you can compare from cycle to cycle, but you won't ever get to do that as you will have graduated!
dear pope-iness please do not mention condoms on this thread, we are all for no fucking birth control ever more!!!

Along with my extreme moodiness post Ov, I've now got a weird jittery stomach, almost like butterflies rather than nausea,& feeling exhausted. 5dpo. Want to PIMP but too soon. I've not had weird symptoms like this since 'The Great Disappointment' last September when I was totally convinced it had happened.
Am I just experiencing sympathy symptoms with merkin?

haycorn · 14/03/2013 18:21

Oh my goodness merkin, congratulations! I can honestly say that yours is the first BFP I have felt genuinely excited about (instead of hoping that pregnant lady turns out to be carrying spawn of satan) since all this nonsense began.

I will be very sad if you graduate and leave us all behind however. Had my first appt with the doc this week and got the whole 'just don't stress about it, best thing to do is stop trying' caboodle which made me want to scream. I need all you berries to keep me sane!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 18:27

haycorn your doctor sounds like a div. I would ask him on what evidence he is basing that statement since statistics show people actively trying (timing sex around an accurate O date) are more successful, and recent studies show that 'relax' does not help. Sorry he's such a twat. Could you change docs?

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 18:28

Oh and thanks!

haycorn · 14/03/2013 18:39

He's a she, but she only works two days a week so I am going to make my next appointment for one of the other days! She told me that she was speaking to the fertility specialist recently about the number of people he sees who get upduffed as soon as they give up trying. Doesn't give me much hope if I ever get to see him.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 18:41

Tell her that's just hearsay and you know all the real evidence. Get yourself back to see another doc forthwith!

Bunnygirlie · 14/03/2013 18:50

Crikey who is Jorge and what were they saying?!?

OP posts:
Tallyra · 14/03/2013 19:00

some weird random Spanish stuff about condoms and waving off a balcony. Just odd if you ask me.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 19:03

Who's the next one in the 2WW going to give in and pimp?

Bunnygirlie · 14/03/2013 19:03

How very strange, how dare they interrupt our chat lol

Sooooooooo merks what's next? Are you gonna pimp every day now till AF due date passed?!?

OP posts:
happylass · 14/03/2013 19:09

I assumed the Pope was our very own Connie/Raining? Message has been deleted now tho hmmmmm

happylass · 14/03/2013 19:14

Merkin I may give and PIM(Gü)P shortly. AF due sometime between Sun and Tues. I have only 2 Internet cheapies and a slightly fancier Boots own hpt in stock though and I'm too tight I haven't the time to buy any more!

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 19:16

Bunny do you have any cheap
OPKs? Only asking as you could double the dye in one of your cheapies if you do

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 19:18

Sorry meant happy not bunny
bunny got 4 sticks on the coffee table and not feeling the urge to pee on any more, they're quite convincing! And still got this weird stomach sensation which is v reassuring

happylass · 14/03/2013 19:20

No OPKs here either. I know this is very bad TTC practice. I will stock up soon I promise! What do you mean double the dye Confused

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 19:24

The Internet cheaply sticks have a small pad of coloured red dye between the dippable end and the panel where the lines appear. You can take one out of an OPK or another IC and put it into another test so you end up with a test stick with 2 dye pads (never do this on an OPK as you will get misleading results). However on a HPT you can only get a positive when HcG is present (therefore doing this will not change the positive or negative result) but the extra dye can make what would be a squinter into a visible line (handy when early testing)

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/03/2013 19:25

How sensitive are you ICs? Boots I think are 25ml, my first response squinter is evidently 12.5 (not sure I agree) and my ICs are 15. You'll want to use the most sensitive first...
