Merkin, look at my Nov chart when I remove the OPK. Surely it didn't take 72 hours to ovulate after the trigger shot?! Here

It seems on the outside edge of the timeframe but not impossible. Was your trigger AM or PM? Eg if the trigger was 3pm on the 20th and you O'd at 1am on the 22nd thats only 57 hours

I always have the shot at 10am. But let's face it..nothing is an exact science, is it? That huge hike on CD18 shows I ov'd the day before I reckon.

I really don't see the point in my having fertile cervical mucus six whole days before I ovulate. No fucking way am I having sex from now until ovulation

It seems strange but I guess they're covering their asses. What i find weirdest is that they're not instructing you to have sex pre trigger which is surely the best time??

I would calculate it this way;
Earliest possible egg release 10am day post trigger
Latest possible egg release 10am 2 days post trigger

Latest possible fertilisation 10am 3 days post trigger

So... on the assumption that sperm can live for 5 days i'd say you'd want to be having sex from 4 days before the trigger to 3 days afterwards. Now clearly that is a long time... so i'd say the best 4 days would be the 2 days pre trigger, trigger day and 1 day afterwards.

Having read loads of crap about it I personally believe the whole piece about sperm needing some time to get ready post jizz pre fertilisation therefore would concentrate on sex pre O rather than close to O iyswim.

Anyway doesn't help you this month as you're not having a trigger... still working on your charts (tho not sure if it will help!)

Thanks, Merk. The problem we have is that DP can no way manage to shag me for four days on the trot. After two successive days he becomes really anxious and the pressure thwarts successful ejaculation. I would love to be having as much sex as you lot during my fertile week but it's just not possible for my DP. So..I will try to time two shags coinciding with the day before ov and the day before that. But when am I going to ov? Aaaargh!!

Interesting that my +OPKs always coincided with the hospital giving me the trigger shot. Can I assume I ovulate 36 hours after my LH surge as opposed to 24 hours?

I'm going back on what I said earlier about O date for Oct/Nov... now i have put the three charts on top of one another it shows that your pattern in oct/Nov is almost identical.... whereas December is different, potentially because of not having the trigger. Therefore it 'could' make sense that you O'd slightly later in Dec...

Right, your charts are slightly odd. On initial glance they look similar (across all 3 despite potentially differing I dates) however...
In Oct & Nov your temp was on the rise pre O (ie it rose on the day of O and the day after O). In Dec however your temp fell the day of O and rose the day after O. I'm bemused why this isn't consistent (I always get a temp dip the day of O before the rise).
I'm going to plot some of your other charts to try to figure the right pattern of temps (regardless of Clomid) and then should be able to tell you more accurately however this is another pointer that FF has O too early for Oct/Nov.

merk, maybe the trigger shot caused the slow rise to ov in Oct & Nov? Remember it's an injection of the pregnancy hormone

Right, i'd say O will be CD16 or 17. Your O temp pattern without the trigger is entirely different to with the trigger, hence those charts looking a bit weird - I suspect because the trigger keeps your temps up. Without the trigger i'd expect you to O later than with it (not so not CD14/15) and to see a temp drop on the day of O.
Could you go for non pressurised banker sex (as in one in the bank not with a banker) on CD 13 making sure OH is clear there is no pressure as its "not the right time" Then try CD15 and if you can squeeze one more CD16??
Please do not reply on me tho as look where my predictions got me last cycle!

On a side note did you know your trigger is made from Chinese Hamster Cells? I'd watch out when you get your BFP... it might be a small hairy baby!

Sorry filling the thread on my own again. On the trigger days did you do the OPK before or after the shot?

I reckon Clomid makes me ovulate on CD17. I also think the +OPK is not to be trusted whilst on this drug.

If I'm only going to ovulate next Wednesday why on earth have I been getting watery cm since yesterday?

The +OPKs were always detected after the HCG shots (because I always test at 3pm and my injections were at 10am). Ah! Now I see where you're coming from...you think the HCG trigger caused an early false positive?

Yeah i'd watch out for that. That and your temps make me suspect your cycle could be a weird one this month. Do your OPk's get gradually darker or just go from nothing to a positive? I'd be using 2 or 3 a day either way just in case but if the latter I think you need to bank at least one shag this weekend and maybe sooner if the signs still look weird.

CD15 will be perfect for O on CD16 or CD17
and CD16 is just a top up!

Yes I think you would get a positive OPK after the trigger (as its HCG) regardless of whether you were O-ing or not.

I googled checked and I am correct, OPK will always be positive post trigger. Therefore I would bet CD17 in Oct/Nov too based on temps. Also think Clomid can play hell with your CM so either blame the Clomid for your WCM or listen to your body and expect to O soon!
