Entrant criteria: TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, OPK & EWCM obsession, NO instadiffers. (Thread 6)

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time Tally but glad things are getting done at last! Congrats Merkin!!

Boodle9 · 11/03/2013 16:30

Hello Elderberries.

I feel rubbish and crap and low and horrible today, so please excuse me whilst I put on my pity pants and settle onto the sofa to tear and tantrum. AF is arriving at a whopping 8 DPO, my blood test results have come back 'normal' and there's a bloody instadiffer at work. So pissed off have cried in my car all the way home. Probably not the safest thing to do given the small blizzard blowing outside.

Boodle9 · 11/03/2013 16:31

Merkin, great news on your job - well done! Smile (Can shake myself out of a funk to be happy for a fellow berry.)

happylass · 11/03/2013 16:36

Un-MN (((hugs))) for Boodle Sorry you're feeling crap hun. What tests did you get?

Frogcatcher · 11/03/2013 16:39

Oh Boodle chin up berry! I was in the same mood last week. DP threatened to never DTD again because he didn't want to have a baby if that was what TTC was going to do to me every month. That's when I found MN & the Elderberries where we are all as crazy as each other all understand. You can let it all out here. Sending Wine & [biscuits] as there is no chocolate emoticon.

Boodle9 · 11/03/2013 16:52

Happy - they did a full bloods apparently, but it was to look at thyroid. I'm going to get copies of the results though as last time they were 'normal' and they were way higher than the ideal levels for TTC (as specified by the NHS clinical knowledge summaries, no less).

I'm usually about to shake myself through it but for various reasons I won't go into, the instadiffed colleague has seriously got me down.

Come on, hospital, send me that letter and give me something in the distance to set my sights on. That would help a lot.

Oh, and for what it's worth? Progesterone cream = not my friend.

Boodle9 · 11/03/2013 16:53

Thanks for the sympathy, Frog. I'll take that Wine at the weekend, I think; going to get AF out of the way and then treat myself!

Bunnygirlie · 11/03/2013 17:45

Evening all, just catching up with today's comments.

Cheers merkin and cherry yep I will partake in the sausage morris dancing!!!

Oh tallyra I don't know what to say, we're gonna take April off TTC so if you do abstain I'll be right there with you.

Congrats merkin yay new job!!!

Oh boodle that is pants Sad evil AF bitch! Grrrrrr! Will join you on the pity sofa, IBS flared up today so have tummy ache, it's my own fault though, even too much of the food that doesn't agree with me today.

Boodle i'm so sorry. F*ing instadiffers and the witch at the same time is bound to induce anyone to tears. Life is crap. Hug the sofa, have some biscuits and watch some crap TV. It won't change it but it will take you mind off it. And the positive side is that in a few days you'll be looking forward to shag week again x

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 18:19

Really sorry to hear that, Boodle. Does that mean you've had a seven day luteal phase? Shock What are your plans now, love?

Merkin, fantastic news about your job! [tries to remember what a 'job' is] Hmm

Tally, what a shit situation you're in. All the HG anguish you go through only for the pregnancies to end in miscarriage - I would definitely hold off TTC until those specialists have had a good study of your bloods. Chin up, love, it's great that things will soon get moving for you x

Cavort · 11/03/2013 18:24

Hi ladies, it is I - the lurker artist formerly known as Rache1S

In answer to Frogcatcher's question, none of the graduates have managed to have one baby yet let alone twins, but none of us have got more than one bun in the oven to my knowledge.

So, with the multiple birth probability being so much higher in us old fogeys, it means the law of averages says that one of more of you lucky ladies will be getting more than you bargained for when you get your BFP's. Smile

twinklestar2 · 11/03/2013 18:25

Raining - hubs morphology was 1%, it went up to 2% with a few lifestyle changes. 4% is classed as normal so hoping him giving up booze will get the morph up to above normal.

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 18:28

Boo, are you still waiting for a fertility clinic appointment? I wonder if your consultant might prescribe you Clomid. I know you ovulate naturally but it is a great drug for lengthening the luteal phase (I hate it for that very reason!) Plus, you'll get the added bonus of popping out more than one egg per cycle Smile

Don't linger over the instadiffer. Life goes on beyond our TTC woes. Her pregnancy means nothing in the grand scheme of you becoming a mum. It will happen for you. I promise x

twinklestar2 · 11/03/2013 18:29

Big hugs boodle and congrats on the job merkin.

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 18:30

I'm hoping for the same outcome, too, Twink. Men are useless walking cesspits, in my opinion.

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 18:31

[waves at the luscious Cavort] Grin

twinklestar2 · 11/03/2013 18:36

My husband is a kind, lovely intelligent man in general. So why he didn't think drinking 20 cans of beer a week and smoking would affect his sperm I don't know.

Frogcatcher · 11/03/2013 18:41

Isn't is amazing that men can just change their chances like that Twink - doesn't seem to be as simple for the laydeez who have to go through hell (Tally) or just buckets full of misery & disappointment (Boodle & everyone else). I really hope DP is willing to give up booze if it comes to it.
I must be the only woman TTC who prays for twins so that I get it done & dusted in one fell swoop. Let's face it if I'm not upduffed by the end of this year I'll probably be closer to 40 than 35 when trying again so well & truly screwed. I do have some genetics on my side at least - my cousin is a non-identical twin slightly older than me & gave birth to twins in January.

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 18:42

Twink, love it Grin

Cavort · 11/03/2013 18:59

Hi Raining, lovely to see a fresh face Wink

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 19:16

I'll probably be closer to 40 than 35 when trying again so well & truly screwed. Oi!! I'M 41!! Angry Sad

Itsalwaysraining · 11/03/2013 19:17

[blows non-lesbo kisses to Cavort & Janey] xx

Frogcatcher · 11/03/2013 19:23

Oops sorry Raining didn't mean to cause any offence Blush. . I only meant that if my reproductive organs are struggling at 36 then my body is not going to be suddenly full of the joys of spring later on is it? I have 2 aunties who were 40 when they had kids & DP's sister too so I know it's very possible. I'm just not sure I could face the emotional trauma over again either. And I'd be unlikely to get NHS help later & second time round if I needed it.

barkingtreefrog · 11/03/2013 19:30

I definitely couldn't go through it all a second time. I'd be quite happy with just one child thank you very much!

Boodle, so sorry, it's pants when more than one thing hits you at a time.

Tallyra how annoying that they could have done something sooner. Best to leave it just one cycle though if they might be able to do something to help the next one.

I have been a total b1tch and irrationally miserable since I Ovd. I've decided that this undeniably means I must be due a BFP this time round or I'm just a miserable cow. Definitive symptoms, you must agree .

barkingtreefrog · 11/03/2013 19:30

Oo, and Merkin - Congrats!! Wine
