Me first this time. Smile

It may only be May 4th, but I'm out for this month (although technically AF due 30th May - I just like starting new threads).

You can't imagine how I feel! I keep thinking I'll just leave it one more day, The kids are a bit bonkers today (probably the heat)and I'm analysing my reaction to them wondering as to whether it is PMT or not. Also keep checking pants!
I'm not sure which test to get I'll be in boots, any suggestions welcome I'll check again before I set off

Hopecat · 12/06/2006 13:02

I reckon Boots own is as good as Clearblue. Personally I've decided to stop buying the digital ones as - if they don't show the result I want - I rip them open to see if I can see a line.

It does appear to be true that you get what you pay for with PG tests.

The other thing to look out for is test sensitivity. The test I've got is 25 m1U/ml which is pretty sensitive (it's a 'Trueline' one from my local chemists), but basically the LOWER the number the more sensitive the test - so one that was 50 m1U/ml would be less sensitive.

HTH.

Hi ladies. HC, I would love it to be an implantation bleed, but who knows! The last time we had sex was Thursday a.m. but had plenty of it last weekend and early part of last week. I must be patient!!!
Oh Peachy, you made me laugh "checking your pants". God, how many of us are out there doing the same thing - looking for any hints!!!
Re hpt's, everyone raves about the digital clear blue ones don't they, as they will say "pregnant" or "not pregnant" rather than faffing about with looking for a line.
Quick, get to Boots and let us know!!!!
xx

wannaBe1974 · 12/06/2006 13:09

peachy, tbh I wouldn't test for at least a week. I know how hard that is, but the longer you leave it the more chance there is of getting a bfp. When I had the hastle last month my gp said that although the labels on the tests state that they can be accurate from the day of missed period, generally they're not that accurate. You've only got to look at these boards and see the amount of people who post saying that they've done a test and there's the faintest of faint lines that they've had to hold the test up to the light to see, or that it's a bfn and then when they test some days later they get a bfp. Getting a bfn is very disheartening, especially when your af hasn't shown up yet and then the frustration/stress is just that much greater. If you're pg, you'll still be pg in a week and the test will confirm it, but if you're not then your af will have shown up in a week and you won't have had the stress of a potential bfn and will have saved 8 quid into the bargain. Of course you have to do what you're comfortable with but that's just my opinion for what it's worth. Will keep fingers crossed that you get your bfp whenever you test though :)

Sexonlegs · 12/06/2006 13:40

wannabe, you are soooo wise! I think we/I are/am getting carried away, and that exerts too much pressure on people. Apologies for being so eager!
You are sooo right, but it is sooo hard isn't it?
I hate being a woman!

wannaBe1974 · 12/06/2006 13:49

Sol yes it's one of the hardest things to resist. but I think that the longer you try and the more tests you do, the more scinical you become and the easier it becomes to resist. Having said that, I still should have shares in the pg test market by now lol. This month though my DH has pretty much said I'm not to test at all. After my experience last month we pretty much are sure that I can't fall pregnant so testing is futile.♦

Sexonlegs · 12/06/2006 13:53

I am sorry you think it is a no go this month.
I too have wasted so many hpt's and then been gutted at the outcome.
I am also going to wait for as long as possible this month assuming af doesn't show up.

coggy · 12/06/2006 14:59

I used a clearblue digital test for the first time last month and I have NEVER felt so depressed at a bfn.
I am usually quite matter of fact but seeing the words NOT pg flash up on the screen made me feel really wierd.
Even though I have had MILLIONS of bfn on other hpt - this one hit me badly. Wierd eh?
Unfortunately I have another one for this month so I will be leaving it as late as poosible before testing I think.

Congrats Klou :)

Peachy.....keep strong....X

Sexonlegs · 12/06/2006 15:04

Hi Coggy, I guess it is seeing those words isn't it - there is no mistaking then.
Have you long to wait?

coggy · 12/06/2006 15:06

It was horrible!!
I was really shocked at how I felt but it must be FANTASTIC to see it written if it's a bfp.

CD22 today (usually around 28 days) - not long, but too long if you know what I mean!!

coggy · 12/06/2006 15:07

Two day behind you then (just scrolled down!)
How long is your cycle usually?

Sexonlegs · 12/06/2006 15:12

We are probably about the same, as my cycle seems to be 30 days, so af due Sunday/Monday.
How are you feeling?

coggy · 12/06/2006 15:14

Hopeful (as always!!)
My AF would be due Sunday - not the 'would be' not the 'is'. Positive thinking for you!! Grin

No idea really but have been bding more than ever before...well more than normal anyway...so we will wait patiently and see......

How about you?
Are you a first day tester??!!

coggy · 12/06/2006 15:16

That made no sense - sorry.

Should have said -

NOTE the 'would be' not the 'is'.....

AF WOULD BE due
not
AF IS due!!

trace2 · 12/06/2006 15:19

peachy, if you know when youve ovulated, its a sure bet, that af will come around 14 days after, unless you have a stort lutel phase, and if your unsure, as you temp, see if you have 18 days of high! but whatever you do, its your choice, and am hoping for youxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

wannbe how are you? missed you alot on here, and pussycat!

coggy and sexonlegs, am on day 21 just been for my bloods again today, so we all quiet nere each others days

Sexonlegs · 12/06/2006 15:43

Coggy, I got you!
I have been bding - with dh that is(!) loads, but who knows!
I expect I will test if af doesn't show up - I got some delivered in the Tesco shop this morning!! Always go for the day she is due - I know one should wait - but what the hell.
Trace, how exciting that you are around the same time. Fingers crossed big time!!

trace2 · 12/06/2006 15:49

lol i wont be testing, looks like first proper month, ive ovulated all the time (15 months of ttc, so i know am not pg, no symptoms

wannaBe1974 · 12/06/2006 16:21

trace, no simptoms doesn't necessarily mean no pg, and you're still early in your cycle (day 21?) so it's early days :)

NatalieJane · 12/06/2006 16:28
