Me first this time. Smile

It may only be May 4th, but I'm out for this month (although technically AF due 30th May - I just like starting new threads).

hi ladies

i'm the annoying (?) person who's been incredibly impatient and asking about signs a month into trying, post mirena. sorry was just confused.

anyway now i have AF .. or maybe it's not.. v faint and i just haven't a clue. all symptoms still about, feeling sick etc, and cramps / af aren't bad at all.

i just want to say am looking forward to being on here as everyone seems v patient and i'm bowled over by how understanding girls who've been trying are to their friends who suddenly find success. i'm sure i'll be here for a while yet. :-) good luck everyone

Hopecat · 02/06/2006 16:54

Hi maazaa,

Looked at Trace's link - so you're both right really. It's true that you can only conceive up to and when you OV and then as long as the egg/s hang around (usually about 24 hours I think - but best to check that). Once the egg or eggs have gone they're gone - no babies that month.

As CD14 is the average OV day in an average 28 day cycle it means that some women are OVing much earlier and some much later. If you know how long your cycle is it will give you a better idea of when you're OVing - but it may change from month to month.

Just have lots of sex is the key.

I'm ok really - thanks for asking. Motherhood still seems impossibly far away, but this process with DH's treatment (including trying to get the NHS to start it in the first place) has been so incredibly drawn-out. I remember reading about IVF and how 'long' the six-week process was. Six weeks? That's nothing! We waited a year to get the treatment, then a year and quarter for it to start working. Six weeks is like a dream! (Please any IVF ladies reading don't take offence - I'm not trying to downplay the difficulties of IVF).

Anyway, ranting now. Feel like I did at brownies when I couldn't move up to the next level because I couldn't catch a tennis-ball 24 times in a row. Keep looking at the ante-natal and pregnancy threads and thinking when?

Hi Becky - welcome.

We all obssessively look for any sign we might be PG from about CD15. Don't worry, you're not alone!

p.s. What's Mirena?

wannaBe1974 · 02/06/2006 18:44

hiya all :)

hopecat sorry to hear about AF. It's a bitch when it's heavy almost to rub it in, although I do kinda prefer it to be like that rather than very light because that just leaves you wondering if maybe it's implantation.

Beccy welcome :). I don't know anything about Mirena, but would it be fair to say that this prevents you having periods while it's in place? if so then it's possible that your very light bleeding/not much pain is due to some of whatever is in mirena still being in your system. Also sore boobs etc are definitely a sign of pg. I would wait for another two weeks and do another test if you haven't had a proper af by then. I know it's easier said than done, but I'm now a definite advocate of waiting as long as possible, after my experience last month (see lower down the thread and on may thread for details).

Well I'll be spending my weekend waiting for my sister to give birth. Baby was due on Wednesday and she's heen having on and off contractions for over a week now but still no baby, but she went in today and they've taken her in because they think she has early signs of pre-eclamcia, so am keeping things crossed she'll be ok.

Meanwhile I'm going back to gp next week to hopefully try and find out what's going on with my body, hopefully I'll get some answers then I can draw a line under this experience.

pussycatmomma · 02/06/2006 19:40

hi all, just a quickie, i think af has arrived earlier than expected this month, im only on day 22 but felt the dreaded "splodge" this afternoon (sorry if tmi). I guess thats it for me for this month , but i booked my blood tests in at the gp as requested by hosp (day 3 and day 21) so at least that is a positive.
Have a beautiful weekend in the sunshine everyone.
((((((hugs)))))))))to all x x x

TuttiFrutti · 02/06/2006 21:36

Pussycat, sorry to hear about af's early arrival. At least it ends the waiting this month and means you can get your blood tests done.

peachygirl · 02/06/2006 21:51

Sad Sorry to hear about Af pussycat at least you can now get things moving on your blood tests.
Hopecat sorry about your Af too.

flowertot · 03/06/2006 07:35

That thread is really interesting Trace2. I have been looking into times of month etc to see optimum bding days, and thought it was just those few days preovulation but it seems whilst those days you are probably at your most fertile, there is still some chance at other times of the month.very surprised at those who got pregnant so late in cycle though. Would have thought once the egg is released and on its way then that really would be too late.

flowertot · 03/06/2006 07:50

Becky - welcome to the TTC gang. It is a really lovely thread to be on and whilst we all want that bfp, it is so lovely when others get it because we are all in this together. Plus each bfp gives us all hope that it will come to us all in time. If you read some of the stories here, some of these ladies are so incredibly brave and patient with things they go through, you can only feel total admiration for them to keep going and keep so positive. We all get ups and downs and there is always someone to perk you up when you are feeling like its all too much.

mummy2jake · 03/06/2006 21:09

hi just popped into to say thanks for all the support everyone on this thread has given me and i will keep coming back to check how your all doing hoping you all get your bfps very soon

hopecat sorry your afs turned up will be checking to see how things go for you this cycle.

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 19:41

anyone about? Its been quiet for a few days - lovely sunshine!!

decafgirl · 04/06/2006 19:47

Hello Peachygirl, how's it going?

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 19:49

Hi decaf fine thanks, trying to do a bit of work . Have got the day off tomorrow (due to an outstanding ofsted and generous govenors) so have no real sens of usrgency to give me a kick up the bum to get it all done!
how about you?

decafgirl · 04/06/2006 19:52

I'm supposed to be planning literacy and numeracy for the new half term that begins tomorrow but really can't be arsed! I'm a bad, bad teacher!

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 19:56

no no you are not I've been procrastinating all weekend, and haven't even though about the dreaded reports!!

decafgirl · 04/06/2006 20:02

Oh dear God! Not the dreaded 'R' word! How many weeks is it till the summer?! I've only just finished SATs and now this! It never ends does it!
I hope your ofsted goes ok, we're so overdue it's ridiculous but we're hoping it's next year now - fingers crossed!

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 20:05

I've got 7 weeks and two days. this half term, but have got some insets in there to take the pressure off
The ofsted was ages ago hence the day off tomorrow for all doing well! I can't really take any credit, she didn't look at me. They are very different now to what they used to be

decafgirl · 04/06/2006 20:09

They obviously realised that you were so good they didn't need to observe you! What YG have you got?

I'm thinking about starting a new thread asking everyone to compile all the old wives tales, magic herbs and bd positions that they've heard of to help us all get a bfp, what do you think?

Maybe I should post it on the pregnancy bit though......!

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 20:11

YR1 but all SEN so a bit bonkers!
thats a good idea could pop over to pregnacy to ask them to add things in. there may b e athread like this that could be resurrected

decafgirl · 04/06/2006 20:14

Think I might just do that, I've got the books, the opks and a thermometer so it's time to try the magic potion theories!

I'd better go, my planning file beckons, enjoy your day tomorrow!

xxx decaf

peachygirl · 04/06/2006 20:15

Hopecat · 04/06/2006 21:20

Hi Everyone - hope you all enjoyed the sunshine. I was away from Friday night 'til this morning and managed to get sunburn as I'd left my suntan lotion at home (bad Hopecat).

Came back and ripped the tits out of the garden this afternoon. Am exhausted, but it looks great now (although I made the neighbours angry by having a bonfire - oops).

CD4 today. Insipred by the 'share a story' thread we're going to start BDig on Tuesday and then try and GET ONE IN (lovely) every other day until around CD22. Ambitious stuff. I mean, I like sex as much as the next person, but the ol' newly-in-love flame is definitely now a glow, if you know what I mean.

We shall just have to close our eyes and think of Brad (or Angelina for DH).

Here we go again...

OP posts:
flowertot · 05/06/2006 08:24

Good plan Hopecat. Thats what we are going to try next month too. CD18 here so bit of a wait but always good to be prepared. Need to psyche myself up for it too I think! SPontaneity goes right out the window! oDH started going to the gym to build up his stamina too. LOL!
