The former thread proved full of sadness and most vexatious disappointments, wherefore we know not :(. Therefore the BESH will be donning their empire dresses and enlisting the assistance of Captain Wentworth and his admirable breeches and Mr Darcy smouldering damply in his transparent white shirt both of whom with their pleasing countenances and sound judgements and enormous fortunes, in short both of whom are everything a young man ought to be in the expectation that happier times may be ahead for the BESH.

Mavis !! Were you, perchance, in attendance at the Hellfire Club with M'Lord Byron and those other naughty naughty boys? They would impregnate a wench soon as clap eyes on her..

Northey I am most impressed by your excellent endometrium. Truly you will be the envy of the whole town.

(If I'm not careful I'm going to end up talking like this down the supermarket: "Pray tell, my good man, have any of your finest Role de Toilette? My derrier has been most sorely chafed by this inferior stuff..")

I think everyone must be getting ready for the dance in the village rooms, Mavis.

I have got absolutely nothing constructive done today. Well not unless you consider gazing at about 227 pictures of 7 week scans constructive...

By about 10am tomorrow, the interminable wait will be over. The clinic called me earlier to try to push back my scan. I couldn't face waiting any longer, so I have persuaded them to move it to first thing in the morning instead. The only downside to that is that I won't be able to go home to an empty house to bawl my eyes out as my cleaner will be there. But I'll figure something out.

oh euro, the waiting is so tough isn't it... with my last mmc I must have spent a good 2 weeks or so googling pictures of what the scans should look like

Oh, umm, i say, how very modern! Perhaps frank will perform for us on the virginal.

I too can play the pianoforte and I also dabble with watercolours. However I am certainly not what Mr Darcy would call truly accomplished. I lack that certain air.

Is Frank accomplished? Are any if you other young ladies?

I must own I spent some years being attended by masters of the accomplished arts, which inexplicably failed to win me a husband, dancing, as I do, like a three legged elephant.

maamalady · 06/03/2013 22:43

Oh, accomplishments! I fear I was never very dedicated as a girl, though I could probably make shift to carry a tune on the piano or flute. I confess I much preferred to gallivant about the country on horseback, and my reckless lack of propriety led to my doing so both astride and unsupervised Shock

Fortunately, my dear husband overlooked such things, captivated as he was by my meagre skills at the chemical sciences Hmm (note: I was dreadful at A level Chemistry and owe my reasonable grade to HOTB's tireless aid)

miss frank I am exhausted. I appear to have read the entire internet. Could someone hit me round the head with Mr Darcy's damp shirt please?

Night all.

With regard to accomplishments, in my youth I did receive many years training as a harpist. Despite the effort others put into this endeavour on my behalf, I remained resolutely unaccomplished. I did look pretty when i had it betwixt my legs though.

All good young ladies should be chaperoned. Sadly I am neither good nor young and some may say no lady Wink.

HWHNN is on standby to return home this very evening to perform his husbandly duties.
