winkle fx this is your last Christmas without a baby and the next one has a very special addition to your family!

I am obsessing this month and listening to all the twinges and crazily wishing and willing myself to get pregnant this month. Good god! Setting myself for a big fall, but I don't care.

twinklestar2 · 15/12/2012 23:01

Thanks when, I hope so too.

twinklestar2 · 15/12/2012 23:02

Thanks red. If we don't have a baby by next Xmas I think I'll go crazy.

Thingymajigs · 16/12/2012 07:48

Caved this morning and got a BFN at 14dpo so I'm just waiting for my period to arrive. This is annoying because it means I'm going to have to get checked out at the doctors and I've been dreading that. Partner has already had his SA and it came back borderline but ok because of slightly low motility but I'm very apprehensive about mine.
Good luck twinkle and red. Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/12/2012 09:27

Sorry thingymagigs the bfn is horrible. Sorry you need to see the doctors. Fx for you.

Thingymajigs · 16/12/2012 09:48

Ah it's ok. Thank you. It hasn't hit me so hard this time apart from the worry about going for tests. I think I'm getting used to it and anything but a negative would shock me now. I just feel a bit silly because now I think about it I'm having some very obvious cramps. I could have saved myself another test if I'd waited a bit longer. Definitely investing in some cheapies for next cycle.

Sorry about the bfns thingy and monthly Sad

thingy we started the fertility tests early as we wanted to be able to 'fix' the problem early or do something about it before its late. I have got my hycosy (Fallopian tube tests) in Jan and I am dreading it too. The initial investigations - scans / blood tests were not too painful but hycosy is supposed to be. DH is having his second SA in feb so hope that shows an improvement in antisperm antibodies.

twinklestar2 · 16/12/2012 10:59

Sorry about BFNS:(

Another one hear in the hands of the docs. Hub has had 2 SA's. I've had bloods, pelvic scan, chlymidia test and smear. Next step is getting my tubes cleaned. Oh what fun!!

Thingymajigs · 16/12/2012 12:31

Sorry to hear about the BFN monthly. Sad I really thought one of us would get a Christmas surprise. There's still time for a couple more of a though.
The information on the triphasic pattern appeared on the FF iPhone app in the 'pregnancy monitor' part of the chart analysis section where the details of symptoms and when you should test are situated.

Thingymajigs · 16/12/2012 12:38

That's really useful to know, thanks red and twinkle. I wasn't sure what to ask for considering the fact that I believe I am ovulating and if I should pretend I've been trying for longer than I actually have. I am 31 and my partner is 33 so I don't know if its acceptable to go in after just 6 months. Also not sure if they might turn me away because I have two children already. I wouldn't blame them of course but my partner doesn't have any children of his own.
Good luck with the tube tests you two, it sounds uncomfortable but I have heard from 2 women that it helped them get pregnant the following cycle.

twinklestar2 · 16/12/2012 12:46

They won't see you until it's been a year. thats when they take your bloods and do the SA for OH.

my local pct won't refer you to the next stage (fertility clinic) till you've been trying for 2 years. But my docs said he would as we've been trying for 16 months and he could see that we were doing all the right things.

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/12/2012 13:22

No more bleeding, feeling very tired and sick today, hoping those are good signs. Still going to phone midwife in the morning though, red bleeding is rarely a good sign no matter how light it is so if they can give me an early scan and do a blood test for me it'd be good.

Sorry about BFNs thingy and monthly :(

Hope Christmas will bring good news twinkle - it's a tough time of the year when you're ttc xx

BelissimaLol · 16/12/2012 13:49

Personally I think two years is appalling! Glad they are seeing you sooner twinkle. although you won't need it as you will get your bfp on wed
A few people from work have clocked on. I have a reputation for loving the booze and they know me well enough to know I would ignore antibiotics. Oh well.

Thingymajigs · 16/12/2012 14:19

2 years is shocking! All previous information I've read has been from US forums where they wait 6 months to a year (depending on age) at most before going to ask for tests.
My partner asked his GP for a SA two months ago and was never asked how long he had been trying. He has always worried that he was infertile though. It seems men get put through tests without any questioning whereas we have to wait years.

twinklestar2 · 16/12/2012 14:28

:( at sex and the city where Charlotte and Harry are trying to have a baby. I've cried twice!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/12/2012 19:35

I do understand why they would make you wait for a year because fertility treatments can be invasive and they aren't always successful anyway so what would the point be in taking drugs you didnt need. Certainly in my area they refer you to the fertility centre after 12 months and sooner if you have an underlying condition like pcos that could impact on your ability to conceive. Cant believe people are being made to wait that long :(

i'm festived out Xmas Grin - had friends round last night, festive brunch & pressies with diff friends this morning, took DS to see santa this afternoon and dinner at my.mum & dads this evening. We've been invited to another xmas party tonight but i am dead on my feet so DH going solo. Trying not to stress about possibly getting scanned 2moro, they might not be able to fit me in til Tues anyway, but of course kind of dreading bad news Confused oh well pjs & tv chill out time now nite all x

twinklestar2 · 16/12/2012 20:20

Good luck for tomorrow!

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/12/2012 21:20

Thanks twinkle - good luck for BFP this week!

twinklestar2 · 16/12/2012 21:27

Thx although I don't think it's gonna happen and I'm focusing on the new year now.

fatasbrandybutter · 16/12/2012 22:12

winkle good luck with the POAS this week - fx for you!

little - good luck with the scan etc - we will be thinking of you and waiting for you to tell us good news x

Am gearing up for starting this month's dtd - shame we are already knackered due to awkward sleeping arrangements all weekend (visiting family)!! Oh well! Wink

SantaKittenClaws · 17/12/2012 07:38

Morning! On the train so very quick catch up for now...

Sorry for the all the BFNs Thanks

little tentative yay for no more bleeding and continued ropiness Smile. Good luck for the scan today we'll be thinking of you.

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend, we had an early Christmas with our group of friends yesterday. It was lovely but we were the only people there with no DCs which sucked quite a lot to be honest. Had some lovely cuddles with a friends newborn though.

to everyone, I'll be back to catch up properly later
