Hopefully this is the last thread we start and all our dreams and wishes come true.

Yes I just peed on another opk and its even darker - darker than control line Grin whew! I do ovulate. I think the faint positives were really negatives as you can only count them positive f they are same as or darker than control line.

I kept telling myself I must have missed the surge and believed the faint positives to be positives.

I wasn't even going to pee on an opk today but I kept getting OV pain today so thought no harm in peeing on them. So glad I did. Now I am peeing on them more frequently till tomorrow just out of curiosity to see if I caught the LH surge on the way up or down. Like you say when my body might have geared up for it but the flu and cold must have pushed it back.

And yes I am full of sperm Wink

Nice one red!

fatasbutter · 15/01/2013 22:44

Good going red!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 15/01/2013 22:49

Well done. Thank goodness you kept peeing on those sticks.

LittleMissSnowShine · 16/01/2013 08:58

lol go red!!! Sounds like you caught a lucky break this month, fx it results in a nice dark bfp in a couple of weeks time Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/01/2013 11:40

Please someone distract me. I am 10 dpo and it is all I can think about today. It's doing my head in.

Have just looked and I have a 15% chance of getting pregnant each cycle (am in my 30s) seems like horribly slim odds to me. I think I will look at it like rolling a dice and trying to get a six. If you keep rolling it you will get one but it isn't likely to happen first time unless you get lucky.

RedRobin1 · 16/01/2013 11:41

thanks everyone, hope to have caught it this month.

winkle hope you get more answers at the fertility clinic (fx you get your bfp before even getting to the referral date!)

littlemiss your story fills me with hope. Hope the time ticks by quickly to your 12wk scan.

when any symptoms at 10dpo?
virtually waves and does a silly dance to distract when

OP posts:
LittleMissSnowShine · 16/01/2013 11:45

when - i always used to quote nhs stats to myself: "Most couples (about 84 out of every 100) will get pregnant within a year if they have regular sex and don?t use contraception. About 92 out of 100 couples trying to get pregnant will do so within two years." I've been pg 4 times even with pretty bad pcos, i have one healthy well DS and I'm hopefully pg with another healthy DC now. Positivity is what you need to surround yourself with - you will get pg!! Now..be good and don't poas until at least day after tomorrow so you don't torture yourself Grin

Kittenkatzen · 16/01/2013 11:48

Just popping in to say hi and distract when ooh look over there when, it's a....thing....isn't it really interesting?! GrinGrin

Hurrah for your working ovaries red!

RedRobin1 · 16/01/2013 12:41

I am totally bored today. The 2ww is so dull and boring! I am not even 1dpo yet!

Anyone have any funny stories ttc stories / confessions to share?

I'll go first with a confession - prior to ttc I thought we only had one ovary and thought the uterus was located where my stomach was Blush let's just say I was not paying attention in female bio at school.

OP posts:
Thingymajigs · 16/01/2013 13:20

Haha red. That reminds me of my DP when he pointed to where he thought his stomach was and he was pointing below his belly button. He also had never heard of vaginal discharge and then quickly wished he still didn't know. I think I've always been pretty well informed about everything but never knew about the changes in CM or temperature changes. That still amazes me.
when, I love that idea that TTC each month is like rolling a dice. I'm going to use that thought process to help me relax. Really hope the rest of your 2ww goes quickly.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 16/01/2013 13:55

Thanks for the distractions red and kitten. Loving the dance and am imagining a shiny thing I can stare at.

Hope the 2ww wait goes quickly for you red (although bored on not quite 1 dpo is not a good sign).

thingy glad you like the dice thing. I was thinking 15% us about a 1 in 6 chance. As you can tell maths is not my strong point. Helps me think it will happen I just need to get lucky. I am not drinking this month in an attempt to improve my chances.

weechops · 16/01/2013 14:25

Red good going! Fx for you

When here's a daft ttc anecdote for you. When I went to the doctor this month to tell him I was of he asked if it was my first pregnancy. I said ' oh no I was pregnant in 2005 but had an early mc' Completely forgetting to mention the 2 children I have! Think I got confused when he said pregnancy instead of baby! I did say once my brain kicked in though 'oh I have had 2 children since then' doh :)

twinklestar2 · 16/01/2013 22:18

I didn't realise you had to have sex at certain times of the month to get pregnant. I thought you just did it a few times without contraceptive

fatasbutter · 16/01/2013 22:31

Lol at wee for forgetting own children!! Grin

Mt naïveté was that I thought labour lasted a few hours not a few days and that I could cope with the pain! Wink

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 17/01/2013 07:27

I thought I would be able to get dd in a routine and she would sleep through by 3/4 months. More like 18 months and we still struggle now. [shame]

RedRobin1 · 17/01/2013 09:05

haha fatas only if that were true! Childbirth would be blissful :)

I am freeeeezing today. There better be some fecking snow after all so I can work from home tomorrow.

OP posts:
LittleMissSnowShine · 17/01/2013 09:08

lol like all your ttc and new mum stories! I thought active birth and hypnobirthing would work...during a 53 hour back to back labour ha ha ha

Ah we live and learn!!

RedRobin1 · 18/01/2013 09:24

I couldn't find the thread this morning!?
how is everyone doing?

OP posts:
Thingymajigs · 18/01/2013 13:30

Ooh it is quiet in here. Hi red.
How's everyone doing with the snow? My eldest was brought home from school early yesterday so he wouldn't be snowed in over the weekend (he goes to a residential school about an hours drive away) but the youngest still had to go to school this morning. I've got to go pick him up in this weather. I wish I had picked a school that wasn't a 40 min walk away. Hmm really hope DP has no problems on his commute later. Don't fancy a weekend by myself.
Where is everyone? Out panic buying or have you all done yourselves an injury during dtd?

alwaysawake · 18/01/2013 13:53

Returning to the thread after a long leave of absence getting Xmas and a load of work out of the way! Glad to read the good news on the thread! No snow here at the moment, wish there was, could do with the distraction, am driving myself mental for nothing at the moment thinking of ttc'ing. Can generally put it out of my mind when working etc but it keeps popping back in whenever I have a cuppa or try and relax Hmm.

Like this month, was resolved to dtd as often as possible, try and make this THE month and was doing brill for a week, dtd nearly every night then OV rolls round and DP gets really poorly so haven't done it for last 3 nights, when we really needed to. Obv I feel sorry for DP but part of me is so disappointed and even just a tiny bit irked that he couldn't just bite the bullet and do it anyway (in between the coughing, sneezing and retching) Blush - am trying so hard to stay patient and keep perspective (still got plenty of time before it's even a year ffs) but it's not working.

Thingymajigs · 18/01/2013 14:11

I know how you feel always. A couple of months ago DP and I fell ill with a nasty cold and all I could think of was how I knew the month would be wasted. I couldn't even bring myself to be that sympathetic for him even though his version of the cold is always 50 times worse than mine for some reason. Hmm I hope you find a way to distract yourself it's not great when its constantly on your mind.
Snow is getting worse so DP has been let out of work early. So relieved! Better get the sledges out.

alwaysawake · 18/01/2013 14:19

Oh yes, know all about man-viruses being far more virulent than the normal equivalent. I get ill and I usually do near enough all my normal stuff, albeit while looking like death and taking lots of naps - DP gets ill and life stops, it's all the poor lamb can do to drink a cup of coffee and get waited on Wink. Just don't know how to get ttc out of my head. Have fun with the sledging Grin

chilledmonkeyribs · 18/01/2013 15:00

Hi ladies, Its RIBS here. Havent been on for an age, as I took a break mnetting - I think it was making me more anxious.

Anyway, Im not doing posting to announce and piss everyone off. Its just that I lurk occasionally and I see a lot of familiar (faces) names on here and its just to give some of you a bit of hope and share some info. I am now 14 weeks pregnant, had a lovely if very anxious scan last week, just so relieved there was a baby there this time. F*ing Finally!!

Im 38 and was 1 year and 11 months of trying with a MMC last december in between. I have PCOS tried, clomid, acupuncture, ovulation sticks the lot. I think what did it for me was EPO 2 mega strength per day, think thats 2000mg or whatever they are and DTD every night for 4 days after positive ov test, winkling, and Robittissen!! Which I glugged down several times a day (was prob high on it!) from day 7 til I ov'd on day 23.

Also, I was looking at starting IVF this month if nothing had happened and noticed that THE LONDONS WOMEN CLINIC, I think they have a few around the country, will have FREE IVF if you donate eggs at the same time. But you have to be 35 - which was no friggin good to me but it could be for some of you long tryers who are getting to the end of their tether.

@Winkle I know they do have a treatment for low sperm morphology (was that right!!??) I dont know if it will be of any help to any of you but thought I would share the info.

You may already know all this but I thought id let you know about the clinic and the cough medicine.

Im gonna bugger back off again now. But good luck to you all and sincerely hope you get your BFPs soon, particularly the ones who I know from forever ago!! You know you all are!!! Grin
