santa and red are you supposed to take the epo on cd1? Af has finally arrived after 35 days, so I'm willing to give something a shot this month!

wee I am taking 2000mg epo from CD1 - CD12
I OV around cd14/16 so will stop taking it after CD12.

wee ditto what red said :) I'll probably start opks around CD8 just in case of early ov which apparently can happen with epo.

Thanks red good to know it's normal. Agree about feeling better in terms of flow - it's like previous AFs haven't really ever got going properly in comparison.

Gosh, think I'll give the EPO a miss (for the time being) - I bleed for England once a month already and definitely wouldn't welcome even more 'flow'.

I've just ordered some conceive plus from amazon! Might get some epo too actually. So far I've been avoiding doing all these things but why not eh?
Anyone recommend conceive plus? Am worried it may be quite messy and as we are at the in laws for some of the 'critical' period it could be awkward!!! Blush
So 2000mg epo is the recommended dose was it?!

LindaLetitSnowMagoo · 07/12/2012 17:16

Fatas I've never used the conceive plus but did use preseed while trying for my 2nd ds, might try the conceive plus if we have no bfp over the next couple of months though Grin

fatas I've got conceive plus for the first time this month too, have heard lots of good things about it around here. Also lots of BFPs after first use too - which could be coincidence of course but I'm choosing to believe not! Grin

From the googling research I've done it seems that the recommended EPO dose is between 1500-3000mg a day. I thought I'd plump for the middle and see how it goes!

I've also started DH on wellman conception multivitamins this month too - we're going all out in the kitten household!

Fatas I used conceive plus without telling DH and it's not that messy. You just need a little bit. Used it for two months and for pg on third. Same as epo. Again not sure it helped but I felt I wanted to be doing something. That made the waiting easier!

I have been using conceive plus too for the last few months but no bfp yet Hmm hoping to see some magic happen this month though!

Hi three!

Hi monthly, hope the 6th stays lucky for you! Smile EPO = evening primrose oil (er...unless you happen to be a pro cyclist in which case I understand its some kind of dodgy performance enhancing drug! Definitely eve prim oil for us though!)

red it's Friday and you deserve a drink! DH and I had date night tonight so I've had half a bottle of wine, a cocktail, an amaretto and am now sipping a huge baileys on the sofa Smile I demand you join me! Grin

Fatas personally I think one whole individual one is too much and it will leave you rather slippery Wink. If you have them I would use half or even a third tbh. A little goes a long way.
I was only taking 1000mg epo. I did read about higher doses but found it too much.
Work Xmas do tonight and have a fake kidney infection. Can't remember the last time I was sober at a work do!

Morning ladies, just a wee quick ? Was just wondering what EPO does in the way of helping conception or does it just help keep u a bit healthier? xxx

santakittenclaws I also had a very, very heavy period this cycle after starting EPO. It was over much quicker but it was a nightmare for 2 days. I hadn't linked the two because I wasn't sure if it worked that quickly. I'm really interested to see if anyone else gets an earlier ovulation after taking EPO.
The kids are away for two days so we have peace and quiet for a bit. I'd love to have a glass of wine with some films tonight but I'm 4 or 6 dpo so I have to be good. I'll just break open a box of chocolates instead. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

linda and monthly, I believe EPO is supposed to increase the watery/egg white fertile cervical mucus. I've found it also shortened my period but made it really heavy and I ovulated a few days earlier but all of this could be a coincidence. Dosage seems to be anywhere from 500mg-3000mg a day from CD1 to just before ovulation (you have to stop then because it might cause uterine contractions). I'm lowering my dosage next cycle from 3000mg to 1000mg.

Hi, I've only just started ttc. Cd1 of cycle 2 (first day of my first proper period after coming off the pill - is that right terminology? I'm new to all of this!). Am I okay to join your thread even though I haven't been trying for long? It'd be lovely to be part of a gang as we haven't told anyone in rl.

Good luck everyone fx Smile
