Hopefully this is the last thread we start and all our dreams and wishes come true.

I totally feel it. Haven't thought about becoming pregnant obsessively. The pressure seems to be off - doesn't feel like a race as I have accepted that my friends will all have their little ones in a few weeks and then I can have my moment when I get a bfp.

DH is totally relaxed too. We've also tried every combination of dtd over the last 8 months. Just going take it as it comes. Fx winkle, fatas, when, thingy and all of us don't have to wait too long now.

I said to OH today I felt positive and I think the fact that we are not drinking or smoking and eating well, etc, makes me feel like we are doing something positive towards getting pregnant.

It better fucking work

Thingymajigs · 07/01/2013 07:12

I love the thread title idea! I actually laughed when I read that and had to explain it to DP. I think he realises that we all talk about our sex lives now.
Yeah I feel slightly less pressure too but as we dtd every day my hopes are a bit too high. Also got blood test results this Friday to give me something else to focus on. New Year new start though. We will all get BFP's this year. Smile

twinklestar2 · 07/01/2013 08:48

Red - I thought a lot about what you said about accepting your friends are having their babies and that when you get your BFP that will be your time. So I msgd my friends who just announced they are pregnant - the ones who got married 3 months ago - and congratulated them.

Our time will come.

RedRobin1 · 07/01/2013 12:51

Yes winkle our time will come. I just want to be happy this year baby or no baby. I will enjoy playing with my friends little ones for now. But I know I will one day have my own.

Planning hols with DH for this year. Exciting stuff Smile

Thingymajigs · 07/01/2013 14:05

Oh where are you going red? We are looking at a short break to Cornwall this summer which my 9 year old is very excited about. My 12 year old is a little less excited about the prospect of no wifi for 7 days though.

RedRobin1 · 07/01/2013 17:17

I was looking at Tenerife - somewhere in the sun, by the pool, with a huge long island ice tea. Smile

I have always wanted to go to Cornwall too, but never made it.

OP posts:
fatasbutter · 07/01/2013 18:16

Oh that sounds wonderful red - you're giving me good ideas for my hols! Keep em coming!Wink

Thingymajigs · 07/01/2013 18:19

That sounds lovely. Smile My friend has just come back from Lanzarote and she loved it which is a lot coming from her as she holidays abroad several times a year.
It's nice planning holidays, looking ahead to something more than the next part of my cycle. Tricky booking when you think it's possible that we could all be heavily pregnant though. Fingers firmly crossed.

Kittenkatzen · 07/01/2013 18:42

I adore Lanzarote! We go most years as DH has family living out there. Very happy to recommend areas etc if anyone wants Smile

red I went to Cornwall for the first time in May last year, can recommend a lovely campsite if you're that way inclined!

twinklestar2 · 07/01/2013 19:42

Red I just read on the other thread that your tubes got the all clear - excellent news.

LittleMissSnowShine · 07/01/2013 21:51

yay on the clear tubes red!!!

Went to Lanzarote with DH and DS on a teletext type holiday in Feb last year. Weather was pretty nice (tho obvs not roasting hot at that time of year), island was beautiful, people so friendly, beaches gorgeous. Much nicer than Tenerife (i thought anyway). Went to Santorini the year before with easyjet flights straight there - would really recommend there too, slightly less touristy than Canaries, food gorgeous, island so beautiful out of this world.

Extremely jealous of anyone booking holidays!! We'll be sticking close to home this year - DS a bad age to take on the plane (plus we have to pay for him now!), nervous about travelling being pg and also...money...sigh. No sunshine til at least 2014! hate Belfast

RedRobin1 · 07/01/2013 22:04

Thanks yes I got the all clear on tubes. Both the doctor and nurse were amazed at how quickly the die passed through both tubes.

They confirmed I had polycystic ovaries as I asked them to check after the previous scan done by a trainee nurse. The specialist said nothing to worry about as its mild and as long as I get regular periods and confirmed OV on the sticks it's all good.

So just going to see how ttc goes now. Oooo you girls are making me sway towards lanzarote! Will check it out with DH!

Kitten - Camping sounds fab but I have a very non-outdoorsy DH! He's such a wimp when it comes to flies and mosquitoes!

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 07/01/2013 23:12

Glad the pcos is mild, red.

Had yesterday off dtd but will be going again tonight. That'll be the 5th time this month and its only the 7th Jan!!

Kittenkatzen · 08/01/2013 07:27

Woopwoop to red's clear tubes and mild pcos GrinGrin

littlemiss I have a friend who honeymooned on santorini, it looks beautiful, would love to go.

LittleMissSnowShine · 08/01/2013 08:40

red - don't want to be a pain but as a longterm and also fairly mild pcos-er, i feel obligated to point out that pcos ladies can't really use OPKs reliably: pcos.about.com/od/infertility/qt/OPK.htm
I know the dr said otherwise and it's not to say you can't use OPKs, just that the additional weird hormone surges pcos occasionally creates can give you false positives from time to time and I'd hate to think you'd get a + OPK , dtd loads for a couple of days and then think you're covered for the month when that might have been a false result iykwim? Most important thing is clear tubes tho! But I really recommend checking out Zita West - got me upduffed three times now, pcos or not Grin

twinkle - wowsers! I'm avoiding dtd til after 12 weeks, feel a bit too pukey anyway and want to err on side of caution. But i have to say after our months of shagathon i am missing it a bit...

Thingymajigs · 08/01/2013 09:15

That's great news red. Smile
Interesting little I had to give up on OPK's when I realised I had long LH surges and a few days gap between a positive and a temperature rise. I'm fully expecting a diagnosis of mild PCOS too hence an attempt at low-carbing.
How's the morning sickness little?

Yes I doubted the OPKs when I first heard pcos but unlike severe pcos my OPKs are positive only once a month for 24hours or 48hrs and they coincide with temperature rises and I have got negative OPKs for the the rest of the month(did opks once from cd7 to cd25) So I guess my lh surges are normal.

Also had blood tests to check lh:fsh ratio and they look normal. So that's why the consultant said to carry on using opk. They will start me on clomid after April. By then we'd be ttcing for a whole year. So will see how it goes till then.

OP posts:
LittleMissSnowShine · 08/01/2013 10:31

red - Clomid is supposed to be fab, but hopefully you'll get your BFP before April :) Every time I got referred to fertility clinic, I would get letter with me appointment date for a couple of months down the line and I'd start reading up about Clomid and Metformin and then about 2 or 3 weeks later suddenly get a bfp!!

thingy - sickness is still pretty bad, signed off work and can't really look after DS on my own at the minute, but with DS it was gone by about week 13 and I'm 9+3 now so only a few weeks left, and the cyclazine tablets i'm taking have started to kick in a bit so as long as i get plenty of rest i can keep stuff down now, tho it'll be a while before i can face anything like a full meal again! I never tried OPKs cos so many pcos ladies put me off using them, but i really agree with the Zita West/NHS method of dtd every 2-3 days throughout whole cycle, with a couple of extra times thrown in when you see ewcm. Can't hurt! But hard to sustain...

RedRobin1 · 08/01/2013 11:08

Hahaha littlemiss that's a good clomid story Grin hope that works for us too! Hope the morning sickness reduces soon! Not long to go till your 12w scan!

Saw a couple of fb who look pregnant in their new photo albums. Their bellies are sticking out. God! Have I become one of those people who is now pre-guessing pregnancy announcements by staring at bellies!

OP posts:
Thingymajigs · 08/01/2013 12:06

You must be exhausted little. Hopefully the sickness settles down soon and you can enjoy this pregnancy a bit more.
I keep hearing about Zita West so I'll check that out. I'll try anything at this stage.
red, they've probably still got some extra tummy weight from Christmas, that's all. Smile

twinklestar2 · 08/01/2013 12:07

Red I'm terrible. Whenever I read a news story about someone with kids I obsessively look at how old the kid is and then how old the mum is and compare my age to theirs. TTC has driven me mad.

Dtd last night and all this month have ensured the legs have gone in the air with bum under pillow for at least 20 minutes.

CD16 here...

RedRobin1 · 08/01/2013 13:32

Winkle you have done so well this month! Really hope this is the month for you.

Yesterday I saw a newly married couple and the woman declined alcohol as she was on a 'detox' diet. All I could think is "Bloody hell shes pregnant as well!" I just feel so arrrrghhh. My other friends belly looks so round on fb, and shes really petite so I think she is preggers too Hmm. Thing is nearly every woman in my class in school is now popping children out. I guess I need to not open fb at all.

Seriously what's becoming of us winkle

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 08/01/2013 16:16

I went to sleep at 1am last night cause we went to bed late (watching OBEM!) and then I had to stick the old legs on the air - knackered! The dtd was functional shall we say!!

Red, ttc has driven us bonkers. That's all I can say!
