The femmes fatales of the BESH are lying back and thinking of England

As witches and pumpkins become old hat, the BESH are scrubbing up well in salute to James Bond in general and Skyfall in particular. Put on your slinky cocktail dresses and stiletto heels, grab a Martini, and start schmoozing with well-dressed secret agents.

Insta-diffs will be shot with a quip but without a qualm. Anyone else wanting to join can dodge a few bullets post the BESHtionnaire.

I've been in A&E most of the afternoon with DSis and DNephew. DNephew fell over holding a bowling ball and we thought his finger might be broken! All ok and he perked up after some calpol but a long afternoon all in all.

I have made a lasagna which is currently cooking in the oven. It smell awesome! Grin

EuroShagmore · 12/11/2012 18:51

Evening BESH. I slept really badly last night so have had to drag myself, knackered, through today. It has been bloody hard work!

I had the sebaceous cyst I have on my face zapped with electrolysis at lunchtime. Fingers crossed that it does something. I'd be nice to get rid of it without surgery. I've lived with it for years, but it is starting to get bigger so I want it gone.

EuroShagmore · 12/11/2012 18:52

X-posts. I'm glad your nephew is ok, faif. And mmmmmmm at lasagne!

MissSlapAndTipple · 12/11/2012 21:49

Blimey, quiet in here today?

Ouch euro did that not hurt? A friend of mine is about to have one removed, it's on her shoulder joint though and is giving her so much pain poor thing.

Bravo on the lasagne faif! Love lasagne but MATV won't it eat cuz pasta isn't paleo enough. I don't think beer & wine are either but that doesn't seem to bother him.

I have had an exceptionally boring day at work. However, ventured back to pole tonight and found my splits have improved and I'm nearly flat with a move called Jade. Ill put it on FB but I'm not looking massively sexy and you'll understand why when you see it!

SinkyGoodenplenty · 12/11/2012 22:20

Shut up tipps, that is proper awesome. It think I'd break something (or someone) if I tried that.

Is quiet. I'm trying to keep my head down at work. I'm off next week, so need to get stuff done. Feel free to throw prawn eyes at me if I'm here too much.

EuroShagmore · 12/11/2012 22:36

Mine doesn't hurt slap. It has been there for years but is getting bigger, so I thought I would see if anything could be done without leaving a surgical scar. Apparently, sometimes electrolysis works and sometimes it doesn't, but you usually know if it is doing anything within a couple of visits, so it doesn't cost a huge amount to find out. I have a feeling this one might have been there too long to shift. I wish I had heard about the electrolysis option years ago - my GP said it was surgery or nothing.

I'm off to bed soon - I don't feel like I have woken up properly all day. :(

alwyn · 13/11/2012 19:07

Well done on the lasagne front faif. I suck at making anything like that, so I stick to bolognese.

School was awesome. Both of my lessons today with my "special snowflakes" turned into personal tutoring as most of them were in exams!! Joy! I had a class of 3 both times!

MissWinklyParadiso · 13/11/2012 19:41

Happy days al. My A level maths class had so many dropouts we were a class of three by Christmas in Upper 6.

I've had a lovely day today - mandatory training not starting til 12 so a day away from the office and a lie in, then dinner in Central London with Husband. Husband is in the good books cos we managed some completed sechs yesterday and pant snot indicates I've not quite laid an egg yet. So not too likely to get a win, but enough for menkulling instead of frustration and rage over the next fortnight.

MissWinklyParadiso · 13/11/2012 19:46

(I often post then realise I have more to say. Sorry about that)

I realised today during training that I'm not just as flexible as I used to be and that made me cross. Particularly compared to MissSplitsAndTickle - wow!

euro I hope the electrolysis does the job and that you managed to wake up today.

faith good effort on the lasagne, one of my favourites but such a faff to make.

How is everyone else?

alwyn · 13/11/2012 21:37

I went to the gym Shock

And even enquired about personal training (double Shock)

MissSlapAndTipple · 13/11/2012 21:46

bloomin heck where did everyone go!

Glad it doesn't actually hurt euro and fingers crossed the electrolysis works. Hope you felt more awake today!

What are "special snowflakes" alwyn? easy work days are nice though :)

really pleased you got lucky winkly! The start of more to come ahem s'cuse the pun. Grin

Well, I've had a good day. Had an excellent performance review and lots of praise from boss. I'm getting a promotion to Manager level so we talked about my soon to be new responsibilities and my new pay :) Very good. Then one of the questions was about medical conditions affecting ability to do the job to make sure if we need any help or assistance so I just took the opportunity to fess up about the fertility treatment. I was very surprised by her reaction. She was amazing, didn't even look surprised and I kind of got the feeling she had guessed and just said that she would be as supportive as possible, not to worry at all about needing time off for treatment and to just put the time out in the diary, I didn't need to get authorisation, just let her know when I'm going to be out and then said that it was all completely completely to be expected, I'm young, married and she'd have been more surprised if I hadn't gone off at some point to have children. This all came out during our conversation, she didn't just blurt it all out in once! I said I felt bad that I was just about to be promoted and had been concerned about the time I was having for various appointments but she said the organisation had to acknowledge my personal health and works impact on that and my marriage etc so it really wasn't ever going to be a problem. Besides which, women have babies, its a fact of life. They'll have maternity leave then come back. Amazeballs. Feel so much better for getting it out in the open. Have been getting increasingly nervous what with the various appointments and more still to come.

Finally (sorry - nearly at the end of my essay), I went to see Skyfall. O.M.G amazing,. I am more in love with Mr Bond now than ever :) Just awesome. Then finally finally, I got home and MATV said ahh I've bought you a present. He bought me an advent calendar!!! that might not seem such a big thing but MATV does not do Christmas, nothing festive and he HATEs advent calendars so I have high hopes that he may get in the festive swing this year.

MissWinklyParadiso · 13/11/2012 21:48

Good day all round then Slaps

Congrats on your promotion drinks on you and so nice to hear about a good boss for a change.

MissSlapAndTipple · 13/11/2012 21:53

Thanks winkly. Im really glad the review went well. MATV said I should have kept it to myself but I had no choice really if I want to keep disappearing for appointments and we do have a policy that clearly says in it if we are undergoing fertility treatment and require time off we must advise our line manager. I can't help the timing can i? He just doesn't want me risking my promotion because he wants me earning more for him to spend :/

EuroShagmore · 13/11/2012 21:57

Woo hoo slap. How great that you have a supportive boss.

Northey · 13/11/2012 22:01

That sounds good, slap.

Not much news from me. My pre ivf blood results all came back normal. Just waiting for the chlamydia result now, and they can send off the referral.

SinkyGoodenplenty · 13/11/2012 22:40

Good work on the successful sechs winks, and fingers crossed for the egg laying

Glad the classes were good al. How much longer are you there? Still heading back to accountancy?

Excellent day all round Tipps. If that's their attitude, it's definitely a good idea to have told them.

I'm with Norf. No news. Waiting for clinic in dec. yawn. You ok norfi-licious? You've been quiet.

I'm toying with peeing on a stick. Lots of crazy womble pains and pant snot. But, obviously, I'm just kidding myself. Dunno. Just feel like I am permanently pre droid. Stupid hormones.

MissWinklyParadiso · 13/11/2012 22:47

PEE ON A STICK

Kidney punches needed?

SinkyGoodenplenty · 13/11/2012 22:52

Oh, don't encourage me.

I thought the bresticles were a bit tender yesterday. Then I realised I was wearing a too small bra.

It's really pointless- but I've no doubt I'll succumb at some point soon!

MissWinklyParadiso · 13/11/2012 22:57

sinky if you didn't live so far away I would rush round with sticks for you to pee on :)

alwyn · 13/11/2012 23:05

[punches sinky inna kidney and bellows POAS!]

Special snowflakes are 16 and 17 year olds with the social skills of 9 year olds. They can be quite tiresome. 28 working days left then back to accounting!

Good for you on the bloods norf!

Congrats on the promotion slaps!

MissSlapAndTipple · 14/11/2012 07:46

Did you POAS yet sinky? I never even got the chance to consider it last month with droid turning up on a 27day cycle the bitch. Haven't POA hpt in an age now :(

Well done on clear bloods Northy! I once had an STD test done in a nightclub toilet. I was drunk and they were offering lollipops if you did a swab. They then text your results. Luckily I was all good :)

Can completely understand how your classes would be exhausting Alwyn. My little bro has a learning disability, he's 17 but thinks more like a 9 year old. He's adorable most of the time but has such a short attention span he's constantly repetitive, you have to go over things a million times, or he can dress himself fine for a whole month for example then the next day completely forgets and comes down with everything inside out. He's getting much better though now he's moved from mainstream with a TA to specialist education which is great.

FrankelDeBeauvoir · 14/11/2012 08:13

Hello BESH, sorry for the absence. I've been having a bit of time away as I've had a bad few days. Having convinced myself I was ok with the treatment failing to work first time, I then spent Sunday evening sobbing on HWHNN, and I mean proper bone-wrenching, snot filled, hyperventilating sobbing. I was still wobbling on Monday, crying in the car on the way to work and disappearing to the loo all day for a quiet cry.

So, the upshot is I am still here, but I'm trying to cut back a bit on the MNetting for a little while. I'll be back in full swing soon I'm sure Smile

maamalady · 14/11/2012 08:27

Hey all. Droid arrived yesterday - two days late, which meant that it was the day I was spending all day on a horse while wearing cream jodhpurs. Typical, eh? Fortunately I managed not to have a horrendous accident! I'm just hoping that it doesn't last for a fortnight this time... And this cycle is now my 28th recorded one on futility friend, which is rather depressing. Still, I'm going home from my parents' tomorrow, which is nice as I am missing HOTB.

Sinky, any news? How late are you? I shall not bellow POAS until you're at least a week late.

Frankel, that sounds miserable. Would staying off sick help? I got sent home once for uncontrollable crying, my boss was very nice and it made a huge difference not to have to carry on as if everything was okay.

OP posts:
MissWinklyParadiso · 14/11/2012 11:17

Disappointed that no sticks appear to have been peed on.

frank seems like you were due a good cry. Hope you start feeling a bit more yourself again soon.

Nothing like cream trousers to tempt out the droid draf!

EuroShagmore · 14/11/2012 11:27

Bellows "POAS" just for the hell of it.

FDB sobbing can be very therapeutic. And I always find it does wonders for my skin!

Hmmm, I don't think my headbump is reducing, which probably means the electrolysis hasn't worked and I will need surgery to shift it. :( Still, at least it is taking my mind off my ovaries...
