TTC after recent mc - Thread 2

Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

blunder and everyone else waiting for AF, be careful what you wish for.

Today I had to go out at lunchtime to buy and entire bottom half change of clothes plus maternity pads. Never known anything like it - think it might have been worse than the mc! And to add insult to injury I work in a little Cheshire town unless I wanted very wag-y evening wear, my only option was to add insult to injury Laura sodding Ashley. I now own a really ugly, £55 (sale bargain!!) skirt!

Oh anda that's horrible :( sorry you had to go through that :( hope tomorrow is a better day. Don't suppose you left the tags on the skirt? Maybe you could've got away with taking it back tomorrow?! Oops is that my naughty streak coming out?! Xxx

I'd take the skirt back too if you can! Poor you! Is the first af after a mc usually so dramatic? (I still haven't had an af yet but it's only been like 3 or 4 weeks since the mc) I may carry some pads round with me just in case now!

Caved and poas this morning, negative but my imaginoscope always sees a feckin line whether or not there actually is one.

Oh no anda that's terrible, I had no idea that that was even a possibility!

I had a bit of cramping today and some red bleeding (it has been brown for ages) so thought AF was starting but since then had a bit more brown stuff then nothing, so back to WTF? for me... hope we get some definite AF action soon thunders (or BFP!)

I can't go back a page without losing what I've typed so from memory...

Got my 3+ yesterday & have had to buy 2 sizes up in non-maternity trousers as mine weren't doing up anymore...so feeling a bit more positive.

Anda OMG that sounds awful...I hate Laura Ashley! On the positive side at least she appeared...

Clairey it too 45 days for mine to reappear. It felt a very long time but what I was expecting was how messed up my cycles were after. I went from a very long cycle to very short ones with 2 day periods. It's really hard as I felt panicked about it at first but I have just got my BFP after MC in August. You will get there.

Peanut dogs are fickle arent they! Ive got a black lab and it doesnt take much to get him to be well behaved .

Used my last CB digi this morning at it came back 2-3 weeks so that has made me feel better!!! Going to try not to buy anymore.

To all the BFPers when are you guys calling your midwife? I didnt get that far before so I just wondered when you are meant to?

Thanks, not counting my chickens yet though, seems a bit too good to be true right now! I didn't use a frer, just a cheap Internet dip strip thingy. Last time I was pg (with the blighted ovum) the line was fairly faint and never got properly dark and strong, so I won't get my hopes up til I see a nice dark line, or a 2-3 on a conception indicator.

I guess this means I'm back on decaf then...

I haven't had many symptoms really, the boob pain was telling but it was only one or two quick pains, the only things I've had the last few days are a constant unquenchable thirst, I've been crying at adverts films, and I've fallen fast asleep on the sofa in the evenings, which is unlike me as I'm usually a caffeine fiend who stays up til midnight.

I woke dp up and told him at 6.50am, he was just like "zzz my sperm is awesome zzzzz"

And a 2-3 for almond, too I self referred at 5+3 - a day after previous milestone. Superstitious, much. But may be beneficial to call quicker than that, still had nowt back and that was a week ago!

I get the feeling that Laura Ashley might become a metaphore for a heavy period...?! Well it would if not for the fact that we're all going to get the bfps so we won't need it.

Almond yes the Asda ones are fab imo now, ha ha. I think they're exactly the same as the Morrisons which I did last month (and weren't so fab at the time!). How come you might have to have a c-section? I am already a bit worried about late pg as I had blood pressure issues last time.

Someone asked about when to ring the midwife (sorry I am losing track of all the posts!) - I am not going to til later on this time. I mc'd the day I booked in last time, and kept getting sent forms and appointments for weeks after

Clairey my AF took 32 days to come, only 4 days longer than usual, but it takes longer for some people. It took me 5 months since mc to get a BFP. Like Blol it seemed ages at the time but seeing what other people go through I think it can be quite normal for it to take a while for the body to get back to normal. That said, I know two people who caught the month after the first AF, and it's not been unknown to catch without getting AF, which is why lots of people on here just went for it after the bleeding stopped. Fx for you. xxx

ps you're right blunder you can def be happy and jealous, there should be a little face for that! x

Btw what is the consensus about coffee? How many cups of tea or coffee are we allowed, or are you guys giving up completely? I usually only have about 2 cups a day but not sure if I should just give up, or go onto just tea?

Blunder not running away yet - my cramps started on about Thursday and there were no trips to Laura Ashley until yesterday.

I managed to post my little story yesterday on my TTC board instead of this one. Poor things, think they'll be a bit traumatised now. Oops.

Clairey mine was 32 days, against a normal cycle of 28 days, but probably about 28 days from when my hcg went down to zero.

Can't decided about taking that sodding skirt back. The tags were on ribbon so I could, but I would feel bad, and it's a bit creased from sitting in the car on the way home - ie it looks worn...

blunder you could have had an implantation bleed then we could be happy for and jealous of you :) and it does look like I may be having a bit of a Laura Ashley!
posy I'm not sure about the coffee, I do remember something about 2 small cups - but I just went straight to decaf as I wasn't that bothered about missing the caffeine as I don't think it works on me!

It did cross my mind about implantation but as dtd was less than a week before I figured it unlikely. Also (tmi alert), this was basically brown cm, isn't implantation supposed to be fresh blood? I think it was actually still the mc bleed continuing unfortunately.

Bad luck on the LA though bump - lucky you didn't get caught out like poor anda though?!

posy, I was having one cup of coffee (or sometimes tea) a day. I definitely am totally addicted need the caffeine, otherwise get a headache. I know it would be better to give up altogether though and of course am trying not to blame mc on that, along with every other thing I may have done wrong

Posy I think it's one cup filter coffee or two cups instant, and two cups of tea.

I am sticking to one cup/half cup of proper coffee then decaff or water/ribena.

Clairey I was heading for a 36 day cycle (four days longer than usual) but I caught straight away. Mine was only at 5+2 though, so not a great indicator, sorry.

1 a day for me too, and I savoured it!!

blunder I think it's supposed be brown or pink if implantation - I did extensive research when I was clutching at straws trying to work out if it was a mc or not!!

bumpkitty hope you're okay. Mine seems to have calmed down a lot after 24 hours. I prescribe wine and sushi, and maternity pads x

Booze love the name change and can't help giggling at 'doing a LA'. I'd take it back, if it's not damaged where's the harm - they can resell it!

Re caffeine, it's 200mg or less a day. Equates to 2 mugs filter coffee approx. No blaming of coffee required blundercats, the research relating to miscarriage ACTUALLY said it's considered safe below 400mg/day and even over that it's only a slight increased risk. Is just something else for us all to kick ourselves over. I still haven't forgiven myself for the mass consumption of pate two days before I found out
