Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

i am 18 weeks tomorrow wilde not felt any movement yet but my tummy is sticking out so something seems to be happening.

the baby was lying across me at the scan last week so maybe thats why i haven't felt it yet. i think it's only just coming up to the time when you can feel a first baby anyway so not worried yet.

home visits are the way forward wilde she stays for about an hour chatting about pg. it's really nice.

got midwife on wed next week and another scan on friday. then it's the big 20 week one in a couple of weeks. if i can get through that i might start to believe this can actually happen.

wilderumpus · 01/11/2012 15:59

fingers are crossed so tightly for you pebs. You are doing so well :) am so glad you have had the reassurance of the scans along the way. Must be so much more manageable dealing with the 'what-if's' in two week chunks.

little I have so nearly ordered a doppler a couple of times. I only haven't because if I don't find the HB I will freak out, and I am trying to listen to my instincts which say the baby is fine when my head isn't busy telling me I can't be that lucky. It wouldn't arrive until the scan day anyway.

I hope you get your doppler soon little and it reassures you - would be just lovely to hear that little HB whenever you want! changes mind and runs out to buy one

StateofConfusion · 01/11/2012 17:09

Afternoon all,

Scan went well, babys doing good, great size and very active. Huge reassurance as at this stage both my big two came up small. Although due to its usual non compliance we still don't know what it is and I ended up upside down to get the measurements done which gave me an awful painful head. Consultant apt however was rubbish, usual one was away and despite my notes clearly documenting ds, dd and the mcs he didn't notice anything but ds, cue lots of questions about why am I having scans and an elcs? Anyway ill get my date after a scan on 29th Nov, and rough delivery date is 14-21st Dec :)

Glad to hear others are doing well, I never thought I'd be able to enjoy it but since this baby wriggles constantly I don't get time to worry, so despite being an awkward little thing at scans it is good and reassuring!

I came to the same conclusion re,dopplers as wilde

LittleSpade · 01/11/2012 18:19

Great news on the scan state, great that you don't have to worry about it being too small and fantastic that little one should be with you in time for Christmas Smile

To be fair wilde and state i do agree with you about dopplers and know i will freak out if i can't find the heartbeat hence why i haven't purchased one until now but i think DH was just desperate to 'do' something to try and alleviate my concerns shut me up from going on and on about how i'm worried and really hope everything is ok. I guess if i can't find the heartbeat i'll only a few more days of uncertainty until my scan and on the upside if i do find it i'll have a slightly less worrying worry free weekend.

StateofConfusion · 01/11/2012 20:06

little I still reeeeally wanted one Grin but I compromised with dp on waiting and getting a naice baby bag instead.

lotsofcheese · 01/11/2012 20:45

wilder It's a very surreal feeling, I can't really find the words for it -but I suspect denial has something to do with it!!

little my scan is next Thursday at 1 pm - it's the next hurdle for me (if I make it that far) as I know the neuchal screening test results will automatically come back high due to my age (40). And then I will have decisions to make....

Daisybell1 · 01/11/2012 20:59

Many congratulations to Mrs Pears , hope you get to bring the little man home soon.

I'm dropping away ladies, I've had another mc and it's game over for now Sad

LittleSpade · 02/11/2012 14:51

Doppler arrived

Grin

Lower down than i expected but well over 100 beats per minute, more than i could count, and definately loads faster than my own heartbeat. my tummy feels really sensitive now though so don't know whether i pressed to hard or its trying to run away from my poking.

Jollyb · 02/11/2012 16:45

Daisy - sorry to hear your news. Will still be here if you need us x

Dorita75 · 02/11/2012 23:48

I'm sorry daisy take care xx

Happy birthday jolly

Met my friend today who's had a mc and is now 37wks pg. She recommended clearblue digital ovulation predictor sticks as she got pregnant first time using them so it's won me over and I've bought some, cheaper ones didn't work for her. Gotta be worth a try eh?

Jollyb · 03/11/2012 08:54

Good luck with the sticks dorita. I'm trying to be 'relaxed' about TTC this month after my lecture from DP. Not really working - just means I'll have to be a bit more subtle when luring him into the bedroom!!

CD 12 now and out for a birthday meal this evening. - so maybe tonight's our lucky night.

Mrs pear. How is your son doing? Jaffa - hope Clara's behaving for you too.

lurcherlover · 03/11/2012 20:52

So sorry to hear about your mc, daisy.

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday - with an audience, as there was a student mw and a student gp there too! I don't mind students at all (my brother is a dr and I know they have to learn) but I felt a bit sorry for any women waiting to have sweeps etc...was also a bit Hmm with the mw, who knows my history and how nervous I am with this pg and still asked the students " who wants to have a go at listening in to a 16-week foetus" rather than just doing it herself. I didn't really feel I could say I would have preferred her rather than someone with no experience do it, and luckily the student gp found the hb straight away. Still made me cross though - they should use more discretion when deciding which patients are teaching cases and which aren't. Still, baby is fine which is the main thing. I am measuring big for dates though - too early to worry yet but she mentioned growth scans if I'm still measuring ahead at my next appt.

Dorita75 · 04/11/2012 09:04

Blimey lurcher well done for holding it together! And brilliant news that all's looking good in there!

Jollyb · 04/11/2012 10:21

Great news lurcher.

Dorita75 · 04/11/2012 12:49

2WW jolly and hercule anyone else?

I peed on my ovulation stick but think it was too late in my cycle (day 13 though I've had a 29 day and a 19 day cycle the last 2 times so who knows!) so saving it for next month. Fingers crossed I won't need it and will get the bfp this month Smile Good luck everyone else.

OP posts:
Jollyb · 04/11/2012 14:50

Yup 2ww starts tomorrow! Fingers crossed for us all

MrsHerculePoirot · 04/11/2012 21:04

I am on day 10 - nothing on cbfm yet, been doing sticks since day 6. DH away tomorrow until next sat lunchtime so think we'll be out this month, however still doing sticks as I got no peak at all last month and want to see if all is back to normal or not... If not I think I will make GP appt... Good luck fellow musketeers!

Jollyb · 05/11/2012 08:27

Mrs HP have you been getting 'high' readings on your monitor? I don't think it's that uncommon not to get a peak - and it doesn't mean that you haven't ov'd. Just that the machine has not detected your LH surge. Interestingly someone wrote a thread recently saying that she has 2 monitors as she is doing a trial and one gave a peak and the other didn't using the same urine sample.

I'm going back to basics this month ie guessing and trying to spot EWCM.

Good luck to you - maybe you should pounce on your husband on the morning before he leaves!

pebspop · 05/11/2012 09:37

just keep bonking ttc'ers! i got pg earlier this year in a cycle where i was using cb opks and never got a smiley face. don't rely on the technology too much.

we need some more bfp's on here.

i am still plodding along. my bump is definatley growing now so hoping everything is ok in there. a person noticed i was pg this weekend which was really embarrassing as i just froze up and couldn't even speak. my dh wasn't really helping either as he didn't know what to say. a friend managed to get the person away from me and that was that. felt like an idiot - need to work out what to say if it happens again!

got the midwife coming on wed to use her doppler. dreading it a bit but i suppose i need to get used to it.
