Dulcet I practically forced dh to dtd last night even though he was knackered and even said half way through I just don't have the energy Hows that for making you feel bad!!
It is all do complicated isn't it, before dd I used to think opk were the word of god and basically just dtd when I got a smiley and a day or two after but now I do think while that may work it can be delayed or the chances of catching from just before the surge too are quite good that I have been trying to cover all bases dtd eod or for longer anyway and I do think it has increased my chances as been pg twice in the last few months so even when I don't feel like it I think if in the 2ww I was going later I'd regret not having carried on that little bit!

I have to say that I like the smileys; got preg the first time I used them which involved DTD on the day of and after. No happy ending to that one, of course, but the beginning suggests they are a relaible indicator that ovulation will take place quite soon. There must be exceptions (like kitty's) but I think OPKs are a good rule of thumb and I think a previous poster (you all know who I mean!) might have got us all a bit unnecessarily worried about the timing thing...

Your right, mine was wrong that month but it was a messed up cycle after mc and I was Ill aswel. I used them for a year before dd and always got a the same couple of days and I'm sure they were right and I will defo use them again after wtf cycle! That said if I did spot EWCM another time I would still dtd just incase now

Yeah, I am an advocate for body over technology so try to pay attention to what it's doing. I like the smileys for confirmation but not when it contradicts the body! Oh well, will just DTD when I can.

Tried to force it yesterday too kitten but was quite clearly told that if I carry in then it's rape. That was shortly after his 'oh, tonight, why tonight, we shouldn't have to do it tonight, i cant do it tonight'. That worked to ruin the mood. Try again tonight though!!

We managed to dtd last night (have only done cd 10, 14 and 17 this month), but I nearly managed to ruin it by getting the giggles. Not sure the was a good idea after all, but it was rather necessary to set the scene!

And (non-expert here) I thought swimmers can survive for a few days so even if you don't know whether you OV'd before Cyprus, make sure you get an affectionate goodbye immediately before you leave so you can take some fresh ones with you, lol!!

dulcet I have every sympathy, bloody dh's. This is why I rely on the opks so much, my dh doesn't appreciate lots of enforced shagging. He managed it 5 times in one day once (yes I was very sore afterwards) but now there is a purpose behind it 5 times a month seems like too much).

Opks are still negative. Not sure if I should still have my day 21 bloods done tomorrow or not. Not really surprised my cycle is a bit erratic with all the chrm pregs it was bound to be a bit funny.

The sperm can definitely hang around for a few days. Dd was created with sperm that must have been 5 days old.

I suffer from the same problem. DH does not appreciate being told to do anything even if that is to have sex! So we never have a 'let's make a baby now' chat or he won't do it.
That's why it's tricky. I have to work out dates etc and take it from there. He does want a baby but I know I want more then him and that's just the way things are.
Did opk and there was a very faint line. That according to the test is negative but does that mean its on the way?

I know, I got away with it tho when thank goodness. There's no way I could mention ttc in the lead up to dtd. We have enough conversations as it is about dtd being infrequent, so anything to add to the pressure would not help! Of course in addition and we're being very casual about ttc in these early stage I'm clearly not casual about it at all shhhhh

For a bloke who really wants kids (apparently) he's rather shit at assisting.

I am going to give him a good talking to after the wedding. Tell him the biology. And say that if he actually wants kids as much as I think he does, then he needs to play the game for 48 - 72 hours a month!

Nic I almost feel sorry for your man when you say you will talk to him. When I'm at that point with DH he is in serious trouble.
