Greetings sisters [puts flowers in hair]

Bring your very best woo & let's see if we can magick up a few baybees (insta-differs not allowed).

New recruits are required to locate the BESH spell aka the BESHtionnaire and submit for further scrutiny.

Well thank God you asked about the AMH! Idiot man. Someone else here has got the ovaries of an octogenarian. Who is it?

Now. Is IUI the one where they just inject the spermz in? Or do they do something clever to them first?

fertilityFTW · 12/09/2012 08:17

Aurgh. Full blown flu now. Throat is raw, head is stuffed up, aching, can't breathe and I feel like absolute shite. GB says lucky it's not as bad as he's got it Hmm. Was reading up on the effects of flu/ fevers etc and pissing myself. Went to lie down, GB comes by and says, sorry for bringing it into the house, bad timing, etc and then, ever tactful, that well, if it can't survive this then it'd probably never come to term anyway Shock. Haven't slept all night, just feel like shit. Fuck. Why now?

KatAndKit · 12/09/2012 09:18

Sorry you are feeling poorly. Really though, try not to panic, having the lurgy is unlikely to do any harm to your baybee. Totally tactless thing for GB to say though. Take paracetamol to bring your fever down and rest up in bed with plenty of fluids. It will all be fine but is never nice to have stuff to add to the menkul.

eurochick · 12/09/2012 10:46

Fertility I think it's pretty normal to get some sort of lurgy early in pregnancy - your immune system has to lower its guard to allow an embryo to implant cos it's 50% forrin genetic material. Bean will be fine.

Norfy how are you doing this morning?

Rie that's not very helpful, is it?Mind you, I'm a bit sceptical about the value of AMH testing. Other than telling you that you need to get on with it, of which you are well aware anyway when you are on the wrong side of 35, what does it signify? It doesn't tell you anything about egg quality or how likely it is that swimmers will meet egg, etc.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 12/09/2012 10:58

Euro, that has actually cheered me up quite a lot. Thank you :)

It's Jethro who has the egg reserve of an octogenarian. We like our eggs powdered and ancient. So I'm in good company there.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 12/09/2012 10:59

PS Fuck me, that's one ugly fish.

Northey · 12/09/2012 11:36

Powdered ancient eggs are in the best wartime tradition, and you know we always win through with our plucky British pluck.

Am fine thanks, euro. Bizarrely tired today, but eating tomatoes on toast and reading my nice cheery novel about the slave trade. I really ought to get out and do some exercise, but it is so cosy here in bed.

eurochick · 12/09/2012 12:09

I think you are allowed a few days off exercise Norf (unless those endorphins will make you feel a whole lot better).

I went for a run this morning (I NEVER manage this before work but I figured I might as well take advantage of my body being on European time and waking up early). All I feel now is HUNGRY.

My AMH was a bit crap too, Rie. But I ovulate like clockwork every month so I can't believe that it signifies half of anything.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 12/09/2012 12:36

I wrote a very funny and clever reply here. Where's it gone?

Northey · 12/09/2012 13:08

Recreate it quickly, before you forget it?

I don't mind the exercise itself, euro, it's the getting myself ready and taking the decisive step outside the door that I find hardest. I might make a banana cake instead. Somehow I have no trouble taking a decisive step outside the door to buy more butter.

fertilityFTW · 12/09/2012 13:08

Thanks kat and euro - sorry for being up my own foo lately. Going to take a page out of norf's book, go crawl back into bed and see if GB can be ordered around a bit

HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 13:22

Yup, rie I googled 'ugly fish'. He was my favourite!
Perhaps your post went down the loo along with my stomach contents?

norf you are allowed some TLC time. If you walk to the shops for butter, that is cardio build in gentle exercise gradually.

Ftwooer sorry you are so ill, that sucks. Point out to your OH sorry his nickname escapes me that of course you are worse off than him because you both have this but you are also growing a human being inside of you! that tends to shut MSB's whining up :) I hope you feel better soon. I agree with (was it kat's advice?!) that regular paracetamol, fluids and rest are the only things that will improve your symptoms.

Northey · 12/09/2012 16:51

I have resisted the banana cake, having gained strength and self control from a big bag of foam bananas.

lemmy, how are you feeling tonight? What time is tomorrow's scan?

HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 17:42

Mmm foam bananas! I had a bag of those and shrimps a while back. Taste of childhood! Good work norf.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 12/09/2012 18:20

Hmm foam bananas :) that is an appealing thought. Still very much on the sweets and now my belly is sticking out, while I am sure I lost weight whilst being diffed. Scannage is tomorrow at 10:30, probably blood test as well, and if it looks like it isn't shifting discussion of interventions... I am still bleeding but it is less than the usual droidal invasion, so I have no idea what is going on.

Today was Big Work Day. And it went well. I was professional lemon rather than someone who just lost a desperately wanted diffage. So that was better.

Uggly fish at AMH results but Grin at powdered eggs rie (and jethro).

Sure it won't do anything to the bean, that you're poorly FTW, but definitely get waited on hand and foot!

I did exercise last night but tonight I am going to completely stuff my face instead (ignore the weight loss comments above, once it is all over project BMI Baybee will start again).

FrankelSaysRelax · 12/09/2012 18:32

Glad your work went well lemon

May I just say to anything banana-based. Bananas are the spawn of the devil. Fact.

Tonight I shall mostly be watching West Wing (I've just started rewatching from the beginning - heaven!) and eating the large bar of Galaxy I forgot I'd hidden at the back of the cupboard Grin

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 12/09/2012 18:40

Bananas are ok. But they can't be over-ripe or I heave them straight up again.

Northey · 12/09/2012 18:54

But it's when they are overripe that they are perfect or banana bread!

Well done for work success, lemsip. If they do need to intervene tomorrow, what would the options be? Do you have any idea what you would prefer?

Northey · 12/09/2012 18:55

Which episode are you in, frankel? I am possibly almost due a total rewatch from the beginning myself.

FrankelSaysRelax · 12/09/2012 19:01

I'm on The Short List, episode 9 of Season 1 - the "who da man" episode Grin

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 19:08

Well done lemon! Excellent work :) good that it took your mind off things. Thinking of you for tomorrow.

HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 21:02

Oh yes and HAPPY BIRTHDAY bugs!!! Grin

Northey · 12/09/2012 21:31

Ooh, is she an elderly laydee now? Happy birthday bugs.

I made my banana cake with duck eggs rather than hen eggs and it looks... different.

Northey · 13/09/2012 07:27

... but having had some for breakfast I can confirm that it tastes fine.

Thinking of you today, lemons.

fertilityFTW · 13/09/2012 07:49

Made GB watch WW last year, usually goes into strop at having to relate to anything American (like my sense of humour Grin ). Twas great fun AND he had to admit to the greatness of Sorkin.

Lots of lemony thoughts today. Good luck.
Feeling much better on this end and off to the hosp as well, for this long awaited appt. A bit confused though Confused.
