Hi Girls,

I thought I'd start a new thread the old one was getting a bit long.

I am feeling a lot more relaxed this month. We have been BD'ing but more for the fun of it than for babymaking. DH (bless him) has bought me a separate present for each the 12 days of Xmas - one a day. He has bought me some lovely things - which are very useful in "getting us in the mood"...

I am such a lucky girl!

Here's hoping Santa is kind to us all...

Congrats to all who have made it. I did not this month becoz of nothing else apart from no sex. (dh low libido) So i am really thinking of buying the ov kits and doing it that way although really confused on the eggwhite thing i'm like that all the way till my next period???

fisil · 08/01/2004 21:31

I'm on day 2 of the 10 days in which AF might show up. Can't work out whether I want it to come quickly so that I can drink and be merry at ds' 1st birthday party on Saturday, or whether I want it wo be as late as possible so that I can enjoy my own (30th) birthday to the full at the end of the month!

futurity · 09/01/2004 13:20

I'm on day 1 of the 5 days when period may turn up but it is more likely to be Monday. Feeling sick already though which is a sign it is on its way

Moomin · 09/01/2004 13:22

AF has arrived a day early and I have greeted her with all the joy and respect she deserves

Mum2Ela · 09/01/2004 14:05

HI everyone!

AF arrived Wednesday, which means would have ov'd around xmas day but the opk's did not pick up on this - did I not Ov? Will never no.

Anyway, to celebrate NOt being pg, am going out tonight and am going to do lots of naughty things that you can't do whilst pg

Next month am going to shag DH senseless - literally! Will demand it every day! That should get things moving

Good luck to all! Everyone have a fab weekend!

xx

kittie · 09/01/2004 19:29

AF arrived this morning! 2 days late got my hopes up a bit. was disappointed. The pain has been really strong all day, my legs feel so heavy!!. Has anymore got any advice to help me get through the first day, which is always so heavy and painful. Glad I didn't do a test was going to do one today.. I'm a bit slow when it comes down to working out when I ovulate. What date would it be? AF lasts for 4- 5 days no long. Anyone else feeling low because of AF arriving?.

futurity · 10/01/2004 15:47

My AF turned up today which I was expecting due to all the cramps down below. I think this means as well that my cycle is back to what it was pre-DS of 29 days..fingers crossed it says that way. DH is almost well again so 2 weeks today we will be having a very busy weekend!!

Kittie: Ovulating is meant to be 14 days before the next period starts. So if you have 28 day cycle then you ovulate on day 14...if your cycle is 29 days then it would be day 15 and so on (I think that is right?).

BeckiF · 10/01/2004 19:37

I'm currently on day 92 of my cycle! Good ol' PCOS! Did a PG test last week which was neg. I've now brought an ovulation detector; it is like a mini microscope that you lick! Well I'll try everything! If you are fertile then the sample looks like a fern pattern through the eye piece and if you aren't it is just random dots ... so far just dots! Supposed to be very accurate and a damned sight cheaper that the ov tests that you can get, and with my length of cycle, it is just the thing!

Ah well, the days keep ticking by!

BeckiF · 11/01/2004 10:25

Ah HA! AF snuck up on me and showed up at bed time! Means that if I did v then it would of been from Christmas Eve onward. Just the time when mum in law comes to stay and I don't want to get fruity cos of the noise! LOL! In fact, when I look back at my cycles last year, at every fertile time there has been a problem; illness, being apart etc. Sods law I guess! I will certainly be putting my little ovulation preditctor telescope to good use over the next weeks!!! DP will be delighted!!

fisil · 11/01/2004 14:10

I feel AF on its way - and tiny show last night. I want it to start today and then get pg this month, as that means my pregnancy dates will start from ds' first birthday, which has a kind of good sound to it!

fisil · 11/01/2004 14:11

BeckiF & futurity

Mum2Ela · 11/01/2004 14:17

BeckieF - that ov predictor thingamy sounds really good. I spent £40 last month on OV kits and they didn't pick up when I ov'd. Could you tell me a bit more about the 'device' you have bought, how much it was etc.?

Thanks.

BeckiF · 11/01/2004 15:12

Mum2Ela - it was only £25! I got it from www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk (hope I don't get told off for putting this info up, I'm not advertising!) I brought it along with a whole tub of pg tests. They say it's very reliable, but then they would I guess!

My AF who put in a slight show yesterday has disappeared! Wish she'd make her mind up!

Mum2Ela · 11/01/2004 21:31

BeckiF - had a look at the website. The saliva tester looks cool - but then I'm a sucker for gadgets and gizmo's (and generally spending money!). Told DH about it and have decided that if this month is not our month, will get it for next month and start charting etc.

Let me know how you get on with it!

Good luck!

xx

leander · 11/01/2004 21:37

dont mean to appear stupid but what does AF mean?

BeckiF · 11/01/2004 21:40

AF = Aunt Flo = PERIOD! Don't worry, I only picked up on it recently! There should be a list of what means what somewhere on this bpard I think!!

BeckiF · 11/01/2004 21:41

Mum2Ela - I'll let you know how it goes! As I said b4, I had a slight show last night which should of been the start of my AF, but it has gone!! So I was hoping to put it to good use! Good luck to you too!

bunny2 · 11/01/2004 22:43

Hi, can I join? I was meant to be waiting for some tests to see why I have miscarried twice but the hospital have messed me around so much I have decided to start ttcing anyway. My consultant says there is a good chance my next pregnancy will be fine and has given the go-ahead. So here I am. I've got my chart printed out from Fertility Friends and I might try temping to see if the last pregnancy kickstarted my ovaries into ovulation again (last pg was a clomid one).

hana · 11/01/2004 23:48

Yay! Good to see you here Bunny! Hubby asked me last night (ahem....) if we should be ttc.....I do wonder about it as I'm still waiting for results....but I also have been told that the next pregnancy should be a normal healthy one.

Here's to us and everyone else still here!
hana

Quackers · 12/01/2004 08:46

Bunny - good to see you back!! Best of luck. 3rd time lucky for you I hope, just like me! I used fertility friend to conceive this baby and did so first month. The charting will at least tell you if you are ov'g, I know that in itself just made my year after all the bad luck. I relaxed more and it must have helped! Very best of luck to all, this thread is VERY fertile!!

BigBird · 12/01/2004 15:07

Hi everyone...still here and still reading

Santa wasn't good to me - worse luck - so back to square one again

can TOTALLY agree with the jealousy thing too.....

Have appt with fertility doc in march so hopefully he will find something...
GP mentioned going for a laporoscopy operation....has anyone here had one ?

good luck to u all and congrats to all the new conceivers!

BigBird · 12/01/2004 15:09

Hey Quacks - haven't been following other threads so don't know how you are doing ? Hope you are feeling great. Have bben thinking of you.
Good luck.

bunny2 · 12/01/2004 15:32

Hello all. Crikey, this is very scarey stuff. I really shouldnt be ttcing till I have results back like Hana, but I am so desperate to get pg again. I have had some spotting today, day 22. We did bd on day 13 so I suppose there is tiny change this is an implantation bleed. The chances are very slim, I normally have a long cycle so wouldnt ovulate till day 18 or so (if at all). It is probably just my body mucking around again.

BeckiF · 12/01/2004 15:38

BigBird - I had a lap when I was 18 as they thought I had endometritis. Under general they put a weeny camera through the belly button make sure everything is ok. Nothing to worry about at all! I also had the dye test when they put a metal tube through your cervix and push dye into your womb to see if it goes out your tubes (checking for blockages). The tube going in was quite painless and the dye can give you a sudden crampy feeling. Again, nothing to worry about! I got myself in a right state b4 hand so I vowed to tell just how it is to anyone who asks!

fisil · 12/01/2004 15:44

Wow, it is all getting very technical.

Sitting here invigilating an exam feeling huge period pains and I'm sure I've comeon.

But I'm not sure I'm up to starting on all the technical stuff this month. Maybe when I get my package through from eyelash I'll get all excited and give it a go.

Right now I just want a hot water bottle and stiff gin.
