Hi Girls,

I thought I'd start a new thread the old one was getting a bit long.

I am feeling a lot more relaxed this month. We have been BD'ing but more for the fun of it than for babymaking. DH (bless him) has bought me a separate present for each the 12 days of Xmas - one a day. He has bought me some lovely things - which are very useful in "getting us in the mood"...

I am such a lucky girl!

Here's hoping Santa is kind to us all...

hi girls happy new year to you all. Just jumped onto this thread from the m/c thread.
Was hoping this was my lucky month but unfortunantly its not, got my period today dead on my due date, second one after having a d&c from my miscarriage. Started to feel symptoms yesturday but tryed to ignore them i guess.
Feel a bit low and dissapointed to be honest, think i was expecting to get lucky and fall straight away like i did the first time.
Got any advice girls? Lets hope a happy lucky year for us all.xxxxxxx

Good luck to all of you ttc and hope your wait isn't too long.

Well - after long deliberations over the Christmas period, dh and I have decided to put ttc on the back burner for at least 6 months. As we already have 2 dss (and 4 miscarriages), the decision wasn't a difficult one to come to. We made this decision before in September while on holiday and came back pregnant but that miscarriage and the one before Christmas, although early, were very distressing and emotional. Who knows whether we will try again in June. I suspect we will not.

So I have some cheap ovulation sticks (25) and early pregnancy testing sticks (25) I am more than happy to pass on to any of you ttc at the moment (at no charge). Let me know if any of you want them. I would like to think I was at least helping somebody else.

hana · 04/01/2004 17:29

awww eyelash....you say it was an easy decision to make but I'm sure it was still very difficult. It wasn't a great year (or the last part of it anyways) and I'm sure it will take a while yet. Best of luck and Happy New Year to you.

Hi Eyelash, hope you have a grat 2004. Enjoy the next few months without the worry of ttcing. Bxx

fisil · 04/01/2004 18:21

Eyelash - what a difficult decision. Well done.

Fingers crossed for everyone else. Who's next with the pissy stick? I'm due between the 7th & 17th, but already feeling pretty menstrual!

dejags · 04/01/2004 19:30

I am due tomorrow - but as I have already said, AF is definitely on the way. PMS is here with a vengeance (ask DH )

I really do want a baby this year - and there are less than 3 months left to accomplish that in...

Hope you are all well

Dejags - good luck tomorrow.

I have just re-read my message and because I have used the word 'cheap' it looks like I am charging for the tests. I am not. I bought the ovulation tests instead of my persona which died a death after dss using it as a boat, then it got better for a bit and died a final death in November. The website had a special offer so pregnancy tests were virtually free. Please, please take them off my hands!

Thanks for all your messages of support. I knew we had to make a decision either way when I realised I couldn't even look at the pregnancy threads anymore without getting depressed when people complained about tiredness, sickness, etc when that was actually all I wanted to feel - if that makes sense (this is not a dig at those of you who are pregnant just a reflection of my mindset!). Our little family does feel complete and we are so lucky to have two healthy happy children. The choice at the end of the day was whether to risk another miscarriage (and unfortunately stats show I am at a 60% chance of next pregnancy miscarrying) or focus on my boys and wonderful dh. I do think as well that emotionally a minimum of a six month break will allow me to come to terms with everything, see my appointments at the miscarriage clinic through, get fit and lose some weight.

If nobody minds though I will dip in occassionally to see how everybody is getting on.

Best of luck and sorry it's so long.

fisil · 04/01/2004 20:30

I am like that about this year too dejags. But I don't see us making it in the next 3 months. Things are going to be too hectic for too many shag fests. BTW I had the worst PMS ever the month I conceived ds!

I am not snubbing your tests, eyewash. I am being superstitious instead. There is something saying "don't let all those tests into your house." Could possibly do with the ovulation sticks, though...

dejags · 05/01/2004 13:43

OH DEJAGS CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!

You had better start a September thread! Or will you be sneaking in at the end of August????

Quackers · 05/01/2004 14:04

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! PMT is a symptom of pgcy too!!! Well done!

futurity · 05/01/2004 14:14

Congrats! So jealous!

My AF is due sometime after 9th but pretty much certain not pregnant. DH is STILL ill..he got a bit better last week but now is alot worse so stuck in bed coughing again. At this rate he will still be ill when we next try in 3 weeks time!!

dejags · 05/01/2004 14:15

Hi all,

Now that my hands have stopped shaking - I figure I am due on 15th September. Last AF was 8th December so if I add 9 months and one week I get the 15th September.

I was so sure I wasn't pregnant this month - I haven't had any symptoms except PMS and sore boobs (usual just before AF).

I am going to go off and do one more test just to be certain - a positive is a positive isn't it????

OP posts:
dejags · 05/01/2004 14:16

sorry, meant to add that the only reason I tested is that I gagged on some chewing gum this morning and thought it was a bit strange....

M2T · 05/01/2004 14:36

lol Dejags! I ended up doing 8 tests over the space of a week!!!!

Dejags - what fantastic news for the New Year!! Especially as your dh had gone to so much trouble. Well done.

Fisil - can you e-mail me your address via mumsnet and I will send the ovulation tests to you.

fisil · 05/01/2004 20:11

Hey fantastic news. Good to see my comment about PMS being a possible sign of pregnancy wasn't a deathwish!

Will do, eyewash.
