Here we go everyone - a place for the recent MCers to chat and share all our NOT waiting stories!

OP posts:
kittykatskumkwat · 24/09/2012 19:19

Hi messtins waves - well done on the explanation on the chromosomes thing to when, that's what I was trying to say!! Wink
Sorry to hear about your second mc but the time it takes to get pg does alter each time, it took me 18 months to get pg with dd, this time I have been pg 3 times with just one af between them!
Mrs- glad things are going well so far, if you don't mind me asking at what stage were your mc last times?
Suzy Smile usually indicates you will ov in the next 24-48 hrs ( it can sometimes be delayed) an egg once it's been released can only survive I think up to 12 hrs if it's not been fertilised so it's good to have sperm always waiting for it, in textbook case you would probably ov today if Smile was yesterday hth

kittykatskumkwat · 24/09/2012 19:24

Oh and woody, glad your being so positive, that was my way of thinking last time!!
I would check with doctors about baby aspirin, I have read about it but also abit wary of thing we havnt been advised about- my feeling with last mc like yours was that it wasn't the same as a normal one, that I'd ovd late or it was late implanting and my body hadn't recognised I was pregnant so had started to bleed af it had tried to continue but the lining wtc was all wrong, I could be wrong but it wasn't a stereotypical mc so I havnt chosen to try anything different this time although trying not to have diet coke etc ( a weekness of mine) because of asparitine etc

AlmondFrangipani · 24/09/2012 19:59

Hi Girls!

Suzy I am very Envy of your Smile face!! I am on CD15 and no Smile face for me yet. I think you are right about the ov bit though so try not to worry!

I really dont know how accurate these OPKs are so I'm worried we have missed it (either that or I am on another long cycle)! Munchin similar issue this end with my DH! We tried Sunday evening and he had a hypo (diabetic) so we tried again this morning and the 'pressure' got to him...I think I have been apply too much pressure though as I am paranoid we have missed it. I have had a few cramps over the past few days and starting to get more watery CM (tmi) but I am not very good at working it out TBH (except with EWCM which is obvious. The rest of it seems pretty much the same to me...

Do you think we have missed it if the last time we DTD was Thursday??? Going to try again tonight though.

On a seperate note our house went on the market Saturday and the first viewing offered the asking price Shock!! Feeling a bit unsure about it all as it seems so quick. We have found a lovely place too but just found out the vendors have carved our a bit of the garden and are planning to build a bungalow in it to move in to. Cant really decide if that is a deal breaker...well at least it is distracting me from TTC!

littlepinkfizz · 24/09/2012 20:35

Sounds like lots of good news ttc and possible BFPs suzy and munchin!

Our poor dps.. Ive still only a faint line on opk but we had planned nice romantic evening on Saturday but ds unusually would not sleep and by the time he did we were both stressed and no action...

According to ov calculator I'm good to go from today through to Sunday. If we're lucky we'll Dtd twice between now and then and really hoping that will be enough. I'm 42 now and aware time is flitting by..

Anyway, pleased that woody being so positive.

babyjamesblackberrycrumble · 24/09/2012 20:37

wowsers Almond :) fantastic news on the house. Think I sent myself a little crazy this month with the OPK's! Only used them 2 months so not that experienced with them. Trying to conceive is not the easiest thing for lots of us and I know can be much harder when diabeties is thrown into the mix. As you not seen the :) yet there is still time.

How are you KittyKats ?

BettyFlutterbly · 25/09/2012 00:44

Hi ladies,
can I join you please?

I have been lurking around following your posts for a while and haven't quite plucked up the courage to say hi and be another girl ttc after mc. But I am, so it's about time I joined in I think.
I had an early mc at the beginning of this month, I already have a two year old dd who is my world and I so want to give her a sibling.

I am on cd 18 (more or less) and had ov cramps yesterday so am really hoping to get pregnant again straight away and move on from this horrible feeling of loss.
Yey to those of you who have had bfps and sorry to those of you who are going through mcs at the moment.
It is so scary thinking about getting pg again. I think I am going to be super paranoid about bleeding if/when I get my bfp. I have no idea when I should test, I just don't want to get my hopes up. I know I have the dreaded 2ww now.
Anyway, fx for all of us to have summer 2013 babies.

kittykatskumkwat · 25/09/2012 06:39

Hi betty Smile sorry your joining us but were a nice bunch!!
I'm fine thanks baby, nervous as hell but on the whole basically trying to put it out of my mind most of the time, we've only told my mum ( because she was quizzing me about was I going to use the opk this month and had I had af) but easier to ignore this way, we usually always tell both mums and sisters and close friends well I do really hoping I will be able to get an early scan but think its probably unlikely, my mum doesn't want me to pay as she thinks if I had it at 8wks something could still go wrong at 9 etc so is there any point?! I see her point

babyjamesblackberrycrumble · 25/09/2012 06:52

Morning ladies. Welcome to the thread Betty so sorry for your loss. Here here for lots of summer 2013 babies.
Glad things are seemingly well with you Kitty . I think that if / when I am lucky enough to get another BFP I will keep it quiet too. I think I would like an early scan although I can see what your Mum means.

MrsJLS85 · 25/09/2012 07:19

kittykat my last 2 Mcs were around 5+5 and 6 weeks, I'm only 4+1 now, so if I can just get past 6 weeks I'll start to feel like I can get excited about this one. I think I will go for an early scan around 7 if I get there. Have had no spotting, but still having on and off cramping which kind of makes me nervous, but I'm hoping that they are just stretching pains!

AlmondFrangipani · 25/09/2012 08:02

Morning! I got a Smile at 4.30am!!! Had to get up v early for work today but mega excited as we DTD last night Grin. How long post Smile do you think we should carry on DTD??

Welcome Betty lovely to have you join but sorry you here.

Kitty & Mrs I'd be the same. I think I'll only tell a couple of people. Early scans are helpful if it puts your mind at ease.

MrsJLS85 · 25/09/2012 08:14

Almond I would do at least tonight and tomorrow and that should cover it!

kittykatskumkwat · 25/09/2012 08:47

Yeay almond!!! I love that Smile
I concure with baby, tonight and the next night or tonight miss a day and the one after, well timed shag last night!!!
Fx we both make it through mrs

Lolcbcblemonlime · 25/09/2012 08:47

Good news almond.
Sorry I've been feeling very sorry for myself and hence very quiet. Hope u r all well x

kittykatskumkwat · 25/09/2012 08:52

Sorry to hear that lol, we all need time out sometimes to lick our wounds x

babyjamesblackberrycrumble · 25/09/2012 08:53

:) :) Almond
Hi lol Lovely to have you back. I have also been feeling very low. Think my first AF post MC on way. I feel quite bad as a close friend of mine has been through so much more than me and at least I have 1 DC but we can't help how we feel I guess. Really is very consuming don't you think. Bid un-mumsnetty hugs for all who need them (())

Lolcbcblemonlime · 25/09/2012 09:22

Thanks almond. I've no children and am running out of time at 38. Think I need some wine tonight!

AlmondFrangipani · 25/09/2012 09:57

Lol & Baby sorry to hear your feeling down. It's such a rollercoaster TTC isn't it. Baby just try and think AF means another new cycle to start and there has been a good 'clean out', oh and you'll know dates for next time! Lol it's never too late. One if my colleagues had her first at 38 and has just had her 2nd.

I got a bit Angry yesterday as one of my friends (who knows about the mc) told my how her sister had ruined their holiday by 'complaining' she has morning sickness and now they are home she's decided to 'pop a pill to get rid of it'. She did apologise after but made me mad how people who are not TTC get up the duff so easily whilst the rest of us have to go through all this crap!! Rant over...

Kitty when will u be poas? I think I will be around 11th! Fx for us this month Wink

woody17 · 25/09/2012 10:04

Hi everyone - how are you all today? I am happy as today is Great British Bake Off Day! And there is also a new episode of Midsomer Murders on television tonight! I am really looking forward to watching both. I don't watch much but I do really enjoy murder mysteries - think that it's down to my Nana, who loved them as well and we used to watch them together when I was little.

Munchin you never know - that time on Saturday may have been enough! FX.

jessie hope you are feeling ok. The obsessive checking is horrible isn't it. I do think that cramps are normal as everything is stretching and loosening up. I'm glad the tests are getting stronger as well - that must be a good sign.

suzy I think you are exactly right about ov. I never knew anything about it until a few months ago. FX you've caught it.

Thanks kitty I think I am going to stop drinking diet coke as well. I don't have very much and have been buying the 150ml cans for a while now. Maybe treat yourself to one can a week?

Almond it only takes one time to catch it and I would have thought that there is every chance that you could have. FX. I would maybe try and DTD another few times over the next couple of days. I can't believe how quickly you've had an offer on your house. Do you think you'll accept it? I think that's the thing with buying houses - you never know if you could have sold your house for me or bought a house for less. That's a shame about the garden of the place you like - does it make a big difference to the size of the garden now? Also, would you want to live next to the people who own it currently? We viewed one house and the neighbours on one side completely put us off...the estate agents said that we weren't the first!

Hope you catch it littlepinkfizz

Hello bettyflutterbly sorry you've had to join us but it is a really friendly thread. It helps to have people to talk to who know how you are feeling - I don't really have anyone like that in RL. Someone said to me that when I do get my baby, it'll be worth the wait - I get that but it doesn't help with the pain etc at the moment. I really hope you get a BFP soon.

Hope you are feeling ok lol and you too babyjames

Well I had a chat with the doctor this morning. He was very positive and again said that unfortunately mcs are very common. He did say that if I have another one, I will be referred for more tests etc. He thought that if there was anything really obvious with my ovaries, tubes etc, they would have seen it during the early scans when I was pg the first time as they checked everything out. Anyway, he recommended that I completely cut out alcohol - what do you all think about that? I don't drink very much as it is but I will drink if we go out for dinner or if I'm on a big night out. He also thinks that I shouldn't take baby aspirin next time I fall pg. I think I said earlier that my dad is a dr and he's going to research this for me and I'll see what he says. He also recommended even avoiding certain foods when ttc. I think I'm going to follow his advice but I am still going to have the odd and occasional glass of wine. Just not too much and not too often.

woody17 · 25/09/2012 10:14

Forget to say that I got my blood test results back as well - hcg was only 13 on Friday and down to 2 by Monday. Think it shows that this one was never going to work out. Which has made me feel better. It does show how sensitive CB digital tests actually are as I was still getting BFPs with them until Saturday lunch time.

MunchinMango · 25/09/2012 10:49

Hi ladies, wow yous have been busy LOL!! Thanks all for the words of encouragement. Its a long shot that dtd was enough to do the trick as we have had no luck since :( so going to have to chalk this cycle up to bad luck.
and make sure next cycle that dh does not have a clue about opks/smileys

Almond congrats on the house offer and getting the asking price as well. What will yous do? Grin for the smiley this morning. Get as many dtd in as yous can!! I don't blame you for being annoyed with your friend.

Mrs & kitty hope yous are still doing well, oh and panda also.

Lol & Baby sorry yous are feeling low. We all go through spates of that. FX we will all get good news soon. Lol please dont think you are running out of time at 38, you are still young!! I'm heading fast for 41 and I still hope it will happen.

Welcome betty sorry you had a mc. FX for bfps in the near future.

Suzy hows it going for you? I think we both got our smileys around the same time.

Hi woody, glad your gp had a nice chat with you. It makes a difference when they are understanding. I had a great chat with mine after mc and she listened and let me cry my heart out. Was as good as any therapy session. On the alcohol front I don't think the odd glass of wine etc would do any harm, buy hey if you fancied trying giving it up for one cycle go for it. Thats very interesting about your hcg levels and cb tests. I bet what happened to you happens to loads of women and they just never realise it.

littlepink I hope you got to dtd. There always seems to be something that spoils are chances!!!

Hope everyone has a good day and sorry if I left someone out.

suzydelarosa · 25/09/2012 11:23

hi woody - glad to know you got some peace of mind with the blood tests. I would, however, say that having a drink won't make a difference. I have had 3 miscarriages and don't drink at all --- with early mcs so much of it is down to chromosomal issues rather than anything you're eating. I suppose it's probably good to avoid complete alcoholic paralysis, though! just as I should avoid drinking more than 3 diet cokes a day!

mango - good to know I'm ov-ing same time as others. I dtd sunday morning, last night and will try twice more this week. This is more action than I've had for the last year - ha ha! Sadly it's not at all romantic!! :)

A friend emailed me to tell me that I am nuts for trying, that I will be exhausted if I have another baby and it did make me worry a bit --- but I know in my heart, despite all that, I've got to try. Like anything, you forget all the bad stuff (late nights, lack of sleep, nappies, sore nipples) and hold on to all the lovely things about baby. My 6 year old DD is the best - I would be thrilled to have another... Anyway, I'm preaching to the converted I think!!!

MrsJLS85 · 25/09/2012 11:56

Woody, I think the odd glass is absolutely fine!

kittykatskumkwat · 25/09/2012 12:00

Suzy, I drank About 1 can of diet coke aday possible 2 but my brother told me when I was pregnant with dd how dangerous it is because of the asparitine and it's like to cancer or mc so I've avoided it totally so far, i wont beat myself up to have one a week but I'm going to try not too
Almond I've allready pissed on many sticks Grin got bfp last week just hoping to cling on to it x

kittykatskumkwat · 25/09/2012 12:01

I concure woody on the odd glass of wine

messtins · 25/09/2012 13:28

Hi Betty. I've just joined too after a MC at the beginning of the month.

Woody I think the odd glass of wine is fine - just don't get bladdered! We were TTC for 12m the pregnancy I've just lost, I can't sustain being completely TT for that long without becoming a social leper. I do try to avoid it in the 2ww just in case though. It's good to try to keep yourself as healthy as you can, but when you look at the people who do everything wrong - drink, smoke, take drugs, and still take home a baby, you realise that if things are right babies are pretty tough, and on the flip side you can do everything right and if things are wrong still MC. Some balance is required!

I'm going to the GP today to get results of my latest HCG tests and hopefully the TORCH profile. Really hoping HCG is down and they can sign me off from that point of view. Will still be waiting for swabs though. The whole thing is dragging on for weeks....
