Here we go everyone - a place for the recent MCers to chat and share all our NOT waiting stories!

hi jessie I used OPKs last month (clearblue fertility tests) and they seemed to be right on schedule for when I thougth I was ovulating. You wouldn't believe how exciting it is to see that happy face - i'm pretty sure it's the new libido stimulator!!

This month I thought i'd take it up a notch and I bought the Clearblue Fertility Monitor (the big technical digital thingy) and it's been a complete wash. I couldn't figure out how to set it up, I kept having to reset it and everytime I POASed it didn't work... goodbye £80!! Seriously each stick is about £1 each! I even went online to see how to do it and nothing... I have no frigging idea how to get it started.

So I would avoid the big monitor and stick with the happy face stick - it seems to work.

That said I was really TTC last month and --- nothing! Am trying again this weekend and fingers are crossed.

Munchin · 24/08/2012 16:45

Sorry pedantic I can't copy and paste on my phone, need the computer. But idea was that everyone would feel free to keep updating the list themselves. I'll add you later. Lol.

Almond I feel for you the not knowing must be driving you mad. Fx though.

Sorry kitty that bleeding is back again but I think that is obviously quite normal as that's what I had too. Unfortunately this mc business has brought home to me the need for patience , something that I have very little of.

That was a lovely poem babyjames.

babyjames · 24/08/2012 17:29

I found the poem earlier this year and sent it to my friend when she had experienced a loss. I always remember it and found it out to send to my DH.

I have some smiley face sticks left to use but like you say Almond not sure maybe to leave it this month. Sorry Suzy that the Fertility Monitor didn't work. That was my next step so glad you said.

I'm still slightly bleeding. I'm so ready for it to just stop now! I'm thinking of going to get an M & S dine in for tonight Wine

kittykatsforever · 24/08/2012 17:44

Thanks munchin, glad atleast I know it's not unusual as I'd be panicking,I'll give it til Monday and if I hasn't stoped by then call the gp, I was only 5 wks pregnant and have bleed 3 weeks in total, it seems excessive?!
Can't wait for that to be over and get back on the wagon
I'm going for Chinese tonight, I love Fridays Grin

Vixjane · 24/08/2012 17:47

Wow you lot of have been chatty today!

kitty sorry to hear the bleeding is back, hopefully it will stop soon.

almond fingers cross for you testing this weekend.

V x

babyjames · 24/08/2012 19:34

Kitty Chinese yummy :) I've gone for honey gammon in the dine in. Smells lush. FX that your bleeding stops soon. Gets you down doesn't it.

Drinkies and a film for us I think. Have good evenings all x

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 24/08/2012 20:17

suzy really sorry the monitor isn't working out for you. Can you get your money back on it at all?

kitty 3 weeks of bleeding sounds excessive to me. Hopefully it will stop soon.

vixjane tv and drinkies sounds like a good plan to me. Infancy a drink too but dd is a bit ill, so I think I'll give it a miss I case we need to go to the out of hours GP (very unlikely but best to be cautious).

Lolcbcb · 24/08/2012 21:18

I've always thought cb fertility monitor is a bit expensive...
Will try these opk this month then make a decision. Mine are cheapies though.

babyjames · 25/08/2012 09:00

I was offered a place on the ClearBlue trial but turned it down as I thought would be too stressful with working full time Hmm am maybe regretting that choice now.

Lolcbcbstrawberry · 25/08/2012 09:14

How do u get on the trial baby?

posypoo · 25/08/2012 11:29

Morning everyone!

Sorry pedantic I didn't see your update after the last list. Have only been managing sneaky peaks on my fil's computer in the past few days so have missed a few posts!

Almond I haven't read 50 shades yet, but I am thinking maybe I should order it to get me in the mood for this month! Has anyone else read it? I have heard mixed reviews, ranging from amazing to awful. Can't hurt though, eh? Smile

Kitty I bled for three weeks, and so did a friend of mine. I bled til it had all gone basically. It was on and off too, then one day I bled a bit more heavily, saw another small 'bit' and the next day I stopped bleeding. Hope it stops soon for you - if you are at all worried phone the EPU though obviously.

Am already starting to dread the ovulation bit and making sure we dtd at the right time! Am also having a bit of a fret today, worrying we maybe won't conceive again (based on nothing logical!). My DH told me to stop being ridiculous and to get on with it and I am sure he is right. He is so patient and reassuring Hmm

Vixjane · 25/08/2012 14:01

Afternoon ladies! Hope people enjoyed their friday nights with drinks, movies and chinese.

Any news almond?

I've had those worries as well posy so you're not alone. Funnily enough the month we conceived was the month when i went out lots, drank lots and didnt watch any dates! We had loads going on so decided to not worry about it for a month!

whenshewasbad hope dd is feeling better!

Having a crafty weekend as not skating till tomorrow, been out all morning getting supplies!

babyjames · 25/08/2012 14:45

Lol I applied for the trial on the Clear Blue website but then panicked when I read some other Mumsnetters stories about what they had to do! Being a working Mum and already under pressure in the mornings I thought it might just send me over the edge! I purchased some of my own sticks instead which means I don't have to keep pots of wee in my fridge etc!
Vix have I missed something? Skating? As in ice? Sounds like fun :)

My internet cheapy pregnancy tests arrived today and I POAS after lunch silly when should use FMU and it came back negative. I will do again in the morning to double check. If it is then I will take that as hormones back to normal. Never thought I'd be glad to see a negative test!
Hows the bleeding today Kitty ?

Almond301 · 25/08/2012 15:40

Baby I was like you, couldn't wait for a ng test! What CD are u on now?

Vix I did a FRER test this morning and a BFN!! I think there is something wrong with those Superdrug tests!! Had some more cramps today so just waiting for my AF to show. I have been putting myself under so much pressure that an AF would probably be what I need to relax and re group for next month! My sisters down for the weekend and she had a chat with me which I needed. She basically said I need to relax my mind in order for my body to relax! Also got a BBQ yesterday so going to enjoy some vino!!

Posy that's what I'm scared of too but we all know we can get pregnant and just need to hold on to that good thought!! Wink.

Off for some retail therapy...have a great wkd everyone! X

Lolcbcbstrawberry · 25/08/2012 15:56

Thanks baby. Not sure I'm up for keeping pee in the fridge either!
Well I'll go with these cheap ones and see how I feel.
Almond I'm impressed at how restrained u are!
Good luck when u poas again baby x

Vixjane · 25/08/2012 16:37

baby where did you get your cheapy hpts from? I got some from ebay that are supposed to be what the nhs use but when i got pregnant showing on the cb digi they were still only showing a really feint line and that was almost a week after af was due! Fingers crossed for you tomorrow!

I play roller derby and we skate on the old style quad roller skates :)

Sorry for the bfn almond but enjoy your vino! Its pouring down here so no chance of bbq opportunity!

kitty hope the bleeding is coming to an end for you
V x

Lolcbcbstrawberry · 25/08/2012 16:38

Sorry almond. Didn't read properly Blush and didn't realised u had bfn Blush
When is af due? Could it be too early?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/08/2012 18:07

Thanks vix she seems to be ok ish but is not herself.

Friend who knows we are ttc sent me a text asking if I was pregnant yet Sad

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/08/2012 18:09

Sorry almond. I didn't read the thread properly either. I always thought superdrugs tests were ment to be good. Faulty batch maybe?

EireHead · 25/08/2012 18:32

Hello. I have been lurking about this thread since my MC started, thirteen days ago. I wanted to share an article with you, from today's Irish Independent- "Miscarriages caused by super- fertility". I thought of several of you, as this theory holds that some women get pregnant easily, but sadly have repeat MC...

www.independent.ie/lifestyle/parenting/recurrent-miscarriages-occur-as-some-women-superfertile-3209057.html

Lolcbcbstrawberry · 25/08/2012 18:42

Hi Eire. Sorry u find yourself here but welcome! How far were you? Is this your first pg/mc?

EireHead · 25/08/2012 18:51

Hello! I was 6 or 7 weeks along. We were not TTC, as we have what my husband considers enough children, but now that I have had the MC, I am obsessed with TTC. I tried to rest to stop the MC, and spent hours and hours on MN. I have joined two other threads, and was avidly watching this one, but I had to join in to share that news article. Thanks for the welcome. I feel such empathy now...

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 25/08/2012 18:58

eire thanks for the article and I wanted to say I am so sorry for your mc.

I read the article thinking ooh could this be me? I am going for tests soon re recurrent chem pregs. I have to admit with each of them (3 cp out of a possible 4) it felt like it was just about implanted but the embryo died very quickly after that.

Thanks for the article it has perked me up.
