Red I ment the digi one, the ones you can see the line there's no point you can see it but on a thread I read about someone who got a neg on the digi they broke into it and said they could see a faint line the test hadn't read!?!

Hi wishful - I am 19dpo today. Have a 30 day cycle.

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 09:03

I can't wait to finish work and make a trip to Boots....going to get another FRER.
I work in the middle of nowhere and theres no pharmacy around for miles.

Argghhhh!

wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 09:06

Oh red, I don't know what to say or suggest. As others have said, cb digital aren't as sensitive as others, but at 19 dpo it should be fine. Are you absolutely certain when you ov-ed?

What i will say, however, is that you can test and test all you like today, on whatever brands you like- if you have a sticky pregnancy then you have, and if you haven't, you haven't. The testing won't change anything, it'll just cost a lot and maybe even cause more 'am I/ aren't I' anxiety.

I don't want to be a harbinger of doom- you WILL have a baby, you're a day closer to it already. It might be developing in you now, or it might not. Is your dh with you now? Can you get him to take you out for the day? Can you meet up with some friends? Can you work overtime? I Really would try to find a way of getting out of the house.

I hope , hope, hope that the cb digital was wrong- ill be thinking of you with every thing crossed xxxxxxx

wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 09:07

Just seen your above post- that you're at work. If you really must must must test again then please try to wait until the morning xxxxxx

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 09:20

Thanks wishful :( I am going to try and wait till the morning. Today was the first test I did on FMU so wasn't expecting Not Pregnant. All of the other faint ones were tests done in the evening with lots of water consumption in the day.

I guess if I am pregnant its not going to go anywhere and I'll just wait till tomorrow morning now for the FRER. Its just hard to be in limbo like this. I know for sure I didn't OV late in my cycle as OPKs came up negative. I only started using OPKs after CD14 and they were all negative, so I OVed a lot earlier on.

Just been to the loo and the blood is very watery pinkish brown but not like period blood. So maybe it is implantation. I am only a day late today. So mot likely HcG wouldn't have increased massively. I guess the digi will have to wait till next week.

I don't want to say it but I am hoping its not a mmc :(

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 09:21

How was your wedding wishful? Sorry for not asking earlier. When do you go on honeymoon? x

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 09:29

Plantation blood is one or two brown or darker spots. And it normally happens around 4 day before
hcg is high enough in your body to be detected by a test.

A lot of woman apparently do bleed in pregnancy so i wouldn't stress yet.

And ditto on the strength of a digi

winkle2 · 27/07/2012 09:30

Thanks Amaya and sorry - it wasn't fair of me to say that when I should have been congratulating you! I am genuinely pleased for you. I remember you right at the beginning of the July thread you were the first one to join :)

Red - digis are less sensitive than FRER. So sorry to hear you're in limbo land! What about going to the docs for a blood test?

Thanks wishful that does help :) And hope you had a perfect wedding day.

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 09:32

Oooooh congrats on the wedding !! How did it go??!!!

scubastevie · 27/07/2012 09:46

Winkle, it WILL be your turn soon. When I spoke to my wise ol' friend when we first started ttc, I said what if I can't have children?! She said very certainly, you will, you will find a way.
Just look at Joules Oliver - ttc for a year, when to docs, found her Fallopian tubes twisted slightly so the egg wasnt dropping down and I think she also had cysts. They untied the tubes and she went on clomid and you wouldn't think it now with her four babies!
Don't dispair or feel bad about how you feel. You will find a way Smile

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 10:05

Just rang the docs - they said it could be old blood. They won't do anything till an 8 week appointment with the midwife. They weren't very helpful.

It was not spotting, def a bleed kick - but very much like brown water - on wiping. Stopped for now. Just a few drops now and then Blush

I think I need to do another test tonight - just to put my mind at rest.

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 10:22

Rule of thumb is the browner the blood, the older it is. You've seen how red blood is when you cut yourself. Red blood is fresher. Sorry for TMI

Red have the lines been getting darker and darker?

Can you try another brand? Superdrug is another good one - so try another brand and see? Maybe the digi is just too soon?

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 10:29

hi Kick I have done just the one faint FRER (one in my profile pic)

and 2 CB Plus which got darker. The first one was a faint +, the second one which I did the next day was a shade darker and + All times no squinting required.

I am thinking of doing another FRER tomorrow morning or tonight to compare to the first one I did on Wed. HcG should have increased in 2 days surely!

Yes kick def think the digi is too soon - google indicates digi tends to pick up hcg most times at 5 / 6 weeks so its too soon for me. If i am pregnant I am 4weeks today so way to early to do a digi. I think theres a possibility (however minor) that I OVed late and implanted late hence the faint positive. I am so glad I had sex after OV....and took EPO upto CD14. Maybe it kept the sperm safe till my late OV.

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 10:32

I looked at it yesterday and I definitely see a line.

As you say, the hcg does take a while and from what I remember, digi is 50miu and most other over the counters are 20miu. Superdrugs is 12miu I think...

Don't take my word for that on the digi number - double check it. But I do know that Superdrug own brand is actually meant to be the most sensitive on the market

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 16:28

I have had a lot of thick period like brown discharge SadSadSadSad

Maybe I was never pregnant just so upset

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 16:31

Ah mate, so sorry. Did you do another test?

Try a different brand. I still maintain that.

You could either have gotten a bad batch or maybe you are just having normal early-pregnancy spotting?

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 16:32

Also may not be what you want to hear but it could be a chem pg?

scubastevie · 27/07/2012 16:38

Oh red Sad crossing my fingers for you

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2012 17:21

Me too red, so sorry it's such a shit day Sad

OP posts:
wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 17:33

Oh red :-( you poor thing-I'm sending you lots and lots of virtual hugs. It's obviously not over till its over, but from what you said it sounds like it might have been a chem pg- at least that would explain why you got the bfp. All you can really do is sit tight, and perhaps test again in the morning if blood does not turn to af. It's truly shit shit shit- I've got everything crossed that it's just 'one of those things' but if it's not, there is even though it won't feel like it yet a tiny consolation in that you know you're ov-ing and that the sperm is good.

I'll be thinking about you and keeping fx- keep us posted- and look after your dh and yourself love xxx

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 17:45

I have just tested and the frer today is fainter than the one i did on Wednesday. Both tests were done in the evening. What does this mean? Has it been a chemical pregnancy and are my hcg levels dropping?

I'm just so angry at myself, at pregnancy tests, at my body....Sad just don't know what's going on

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 17:53

It sounds like a chemical pregnancy, mate. Wait it out and see what happens. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Don't be mad at your body. If you had carried on with the pregnancy, your baby would have had chromosomal abnormalities. Your body is protecting you.

wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 18:03

Oh red!!! I just want to give you a proper hug. I have nothing else to say, other than to repeat that I'm thinking of you xxxxxxxxxxx

frustratedpants · 27/07/2012 18:07

Virtual hugs for you red
