Oh have i started the new thread??
Red, I've never had symptoms when pg so don't let that put you off Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 26/07/2012 12:02

You are right about the symptoms red I didn't really feel anything till week 6 (sense of smell became bloodhound like but that was it) then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I had spotting in my 5th week with dd and everything was fine, it was just old blood. Hope you have an easy 9 months.

kick I think you are right to ttc in Aug, you sound really healthy and I think you will get your hba1c in order really soon.

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 12:09

Ah brilliant!!! I remember eyeing it enviously at my SIL's. :D

Ah that's good to know. I've read a fair bit and something stupid like only 28% of diabetics fall pregnant with their levels under 7%. The majority of forums are plastered with women being terrified because their levels are 8.2% or 8.5% and yes, that does mean they have VERY bad control of their diabetes, but they have all gone on to have healthy babies.

The trouble with it is that in the first trimester - like, in the 4 - 12 weeks after conception, that's when the baby's organs start to form. That's when spinal bifida can hit - so you can congenital defects such as physical deformities etc. That's why we take 400mg of folic acid. As a diabetic, I take 5000mg of folic acid - it's the prescribed one and like - 11 times more than the average woman needs. I also take a Pregnacare to make sure I get the other vitamins in so am getting 5400mg of folic acid a day.

That said, instead of reading on forums, I've gone in and read the medical reports and where the hospitals all say you HAVE to be under 7%, they don't tell you that being under 5% is just as unhealthy and just as dangerous to the unborn but they fail to mention that congenital defects actually only typically increase when your hba1c is over 9% in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

So under 8.5% is actually still safe. But I guess by saying under 7% means that they give people a buffer. Terrify people into 7% and they will get as close as they can. Some hospitals say under 6% and that's even worse - based on the research, you have just as much chance of congenital defects if the levels drop too low.

I trust my body. It's not let me down yet. :)

But YAY for you!!! Are you at work today?

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 12:10

Thanks for the support whenshewas

It makes me feel good (and teary!) when people support these decisions. They are huge decisions for us to make :)

AmayaBuzzbee · 26/07/2012 14:46

Ladies, I am on 10 DPO today and thought -what the hell, lets do a test! Going away for the weekend so thought might as well see what happens one way or another (so I can have a wine -or five- with good conscience). Did not expect to see anything -but I can definitely see something! A very faint BFP! It is really SUPER faint, but I can definitely see it, and it has slight pink tint so should not be an evap line?!!! Yikes!!

I have done this on Tescos on brand, and this is not FMU -was just holding wee for 3 1/2 hours (which was tough!).

I won't dare to believe this yet -AF not due till Tue/Wed. Looks like I am going to have to pack a few tests with me so can POAS every day and see which direction this goes!

Think I have to go shopping for more tests now!!!

Would it be worth it to hold wee again and do a CB digi this evening? Or wait till tomorrow?! Does anybody have any idea which is meant to be more sensitive, Tesco's own or digi CB? Or should I get first response tests??

I am definitely a POAS addict!! Grin

redstrawberry · 26/07/2012 14:51

Congratulations Amaya yay!!! So pleased for you.

LOL I have peed on 3 sticks so far - don't tire of seeing the + every time.
I have also got 2 digis at home and 2 non-digi tests left. Thinking of doing one every other day.

My lines and + are coming up clearer but I want to see them as dark as the control line. Then I think I will stop POAS Grin it is addictive.

kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 15:22

Congrats amaya!!! That's great news

OP posts:
AmayaBuzzbee · 26/07/2012 17:32

Thank you red and Kitty Smile

Red have just seen your photo, my line looks almost identical, slightly more pink in real life Smile

I have stocked up on tests Grin I will do a First Response tomorrow morning, another Tesco's on on Saturday morning (so I can compare the line to that I have just done, should be much darker then I hope!), and finally digi CB on Sunday morning I think! I feel like a crazed woman now!

I have had no symptoms, apart from a 'tugging and pulling' (cramp would be a too strong word for what I have felt) feeling around ovaries (both!) and then more central under my previous cs scar. This started around 5 dpo, and is still kind of ongoing but no so much anymore. It started from far sides and moved to central, almost like I could imagine the egg(s?!) would move.

There is another thing -when pregnant with DD, I had foggy wee in early pregnancy (but no infections or anything else that would have caused it). When I weed in the cup this afternoon to do the test, the wee was foggy. I then thought this could be it, and it was! Smile

scubastevie · 26/07/2012 21:09

Brilliant congratulations Amaya
All gone a bit quiet on this thread everyone must have gone to August.
Got my fingers crossed for you all x

kittykatsforever · 26/07/2012 21:19

Owww cloudy wee, we all love a new symptom around here lol
I've had the same tugging pinches both sides you've described, don't normally feel anything like this although had very bad ov pains last month and wondering if that has been the same late ov, ho hum waiting waiting

OP posts:
winkle2 · 26/07/2012 21:46

Congrats Amaya

When's it going to be my turn :(

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 21:50

Soon winkle
It's us soon
xxx

winkle2 · 26/07/2012 21:53

Sorry that's horrible of me. I know it's bad :(

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 21:56

No it's not. I feel the exactly the same only I think you've been let down for longer than me

Admission: I have to suck up a lot of envy and sadness to congratulate people with BFP's. Especially the ones who get duffed up quickly. But it's normal and it's natural to feel like that and you are only cheating yourself if you tell yourself you're wrong for feeling like that

winkle2 · 26/07/2012 22:02

I read in babycentre one girl started TTC on June 22 and is preg already!!!

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 22:06

The thing is that some things just don't make sense. Like...why did I get diabetes? I mean, I live well, don't eat crap, exercise, I think I am an okayish nice person...what on EARTH did I do that gave me this?

The flip side is that I can't think of ANY logical reason why I got it.

It's the same with pregnancy. There are no reasons why some people fall quicker than others or why good people can't have kids and people who don't want kids get them. It's a sad, twisted fact of life and there is no reason for it.

I think it's the hardest thing to accept that there is NO reason for it. There is NO sense behind it. There is no logic.

winkle2 · 26/07/2012 22:10

Bloody annoying hey?

KickTheGuru · 26/07/2012 22:25

We need to stop beating ourselves up though. And feeling bad for feeling bad

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 26/07/2012 22:55

amaya wow BFP at 10dpo is amazing. Keep us updated with the poas action we want to hear about that line getting darker.

AmayaBuzzbee · 27/07/2012 08:16

Winkle, there is no reason to feel bad about feeling bad. We can't help our feelings. You will forget about all upset when you get your BFP. Somebody at an earlier thread said that "babies come when they are ready", it could be that simple. Your perfect baby is still 'cooking' there somewhere, and just needs a bit more time before he/she is ready to pop out.

I have done a First Response today, DPO 11. The line started appearing very quickly, and although faint, is now very clearly there (no squinting required!) :-)

Have just realised that in addition to twinges in ovaries/uterus area and cloudy wee, I have had two other symptoms. A random spot appeared on my lip line 7 dpo -I NEVER get spots on my lip area! Also, I've had a really bad taste in my mouth for a week -not metallic- just bad. Like I can imagine my breath stinking to others :-/

Red- have you POAS'd today? :-)

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 08:36

kick winkle completely understandable - I felt exactly the same having to congratulate people. I have my fx for you all.

I did the CB digi - came up Not Pregnant :( and also got a light pink bleed today.
What does this mean? Are CB digi's less sensative than FRER and CB Plus? or has my period arrived and I am not really pregnant?

All 3 of those FRER and CB Plus had faint but clear positives - no squinting required, def pink and + lines. I am a bit :( :( and the bleed - does it mean my period has started? or is it implantation. I will do another CB digi tomorrow.

redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 08:47

Also don't have any sore boobs or tingling anymore :(

Yesterday I felt tugging and pulling in my abdomen.
And have been urinating frequently the whole week.

DH and I want to be happy - but feel like we are in a bit of HcG limbo.

wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 08:48

HI girls-
Spending most of my time on the 2012 thread- but keeping toes dipped in the water of them all and couldn't not post here.

winkle - big hugs to you. It feels shit because it IS shit. There's no rhyme or reason. I was talking to a colleage about my mc and she told me that she had one, and has gone on to have 2 lovely children. She said she often thinks about her mc, and though it was so sad at the time, she feels relieved about it. If she hadnt have had it, then she wouldn't have the daughter that she has now, and she couldn't imagine her life without the daughter she has now. I'm trying to keep this in mind as a I get back on the TTc wagon. For every month that it doesn't work, we're a month closer to our baby, the one we were meant to have as part of our family. I find it helps a bit sometimes it doesn't help at all and I feel just as shit as you

Red- how many days post ov are you?
X

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2012 08:48

Have you got another frer test you could try red?
I agree you could definatly see the line on that!! I dont think the digi are as sensitive and I've heard mixed responses where some say it's come up on that and not the other and others have said the other way round, have you cracked open the test to see if there is 2 lines
Fx so tightly for you xx

OP posts:
redstrawberry · 27/07/2012 08:53

Crack open the test? No didn't know you could do that? Besides I want to keep it as a souvenir if I am (Gross as it sounds!). I'll try cracking the other CB plus (which are not digital) The CB plus shows a clear + not faint, but neither dark.

I'll try another CB plus tonight and save the last digital for next week.
Dr. Google says digis are less sensitive than FRER.

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2012 08:54

Wishful- that was lovely a great way to think about it, my mum had a mc a few months before conceiving me and my mil the same before dh, I try to remember that and I'm grateful they didn't give up for us x
