Hey newbie

I was on the pill for many years to. I asked them if my misse period was due to the pill but they said no as I had come off 12 months before but as you have only came off in April it may be down to the pill. Are you tracking you ov with a thermometer ? I did by one but didn't use it. How are you tracking? I might start using mine along my cbfm next cycle!

letsdothisthing · 24/07/2012 07:09

Morning all, yes agree with Nicola, best thing about AF is that you understand your cycles a bit better and 30 days is not bad.... less than mine (last one was 39) :( I'm 5DPO now and trying but failing to keep busy :o

letsdothisthing · 24/07/2012 07:10

Ps Newbie, I've been using a thermometer and charting on free chart on FF and it's gone well!

NicolaHazel · 24/07/2012 07:18

Isn't it weird how the first two weeks of the cycle rattles past, but the second two weeks drag? Very strange. I'm on CD9 today, so almost OV time again :-)

letsdothisthing · 24/07/2012 07:20

That's the best time, leading up to ov, hope you're getting plenty of action Nicola :o

NicolaHazel · 24/07/2012 07:32

I'm trying...though we always try, it just hasn't quite worked yet!

Does anyone know how soon cutting down on drinking has an effect on swimmers?!

CaveMum · 24/07/2012 08:14

Sperm takes about 90 days to be made from start to finish, so blokes need to be off the booze/make a change in diet for at least 3 months before it will have an effect on sperm quality.

MissMedusa · 24/07/2012 08:14

It takes three months so the changes you make now will affect the swimmers three months from now.

Hey newbie, no not been taking my temp, did get some cheapie opk sticks but I guess there's no point taking them till af starts. Been taking Angus castus as read that can help kickstart af, have you tried that? When we started ttc I was determined to be relaxed and not think about it all too much but that lasted about a week and since then I've been bordering on the obssessive, it's such a big thing deciding to have a baby that I guess I was never going to be relaxed about it. It's good to go on mn and see there's people in the same boat as me though and that I'm not the only loopy one :)

Maclairey · 24/07/2012 08:54

Hey Newbie

Sadly getting your BFP is only the start of it! I am 6+2 today and all my symptoms seem to have disappeared. I am really really worried that something has gone wrong. I haven't had any bleeding or anything but I don't feel pregnant.

I don't have my booking in appointment with the midwife until 21 August and DH won't agree to me having an early private scan.

I am very stressed out, very worried, very moody and very emotional as well as being very tired.

I can't help but feel that I am going to go for my 12 week scan and there isn't going to be anything there.

We havent told our families yet because I am worried its too early and something will go wrong and with no symptoms it just doesn't feel like I am pregnant, except that I am not drinking any wine!

I am such a worrier and a pessimist, but the stress doesn't go away sadly.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all enjoying the beautiful sunshine!

DulcetMoans · 24/07/2012 09:04

Hi all! I am back from my holiday and recovered from my very very temporary stay in the COD after AF appearance on my anniversary. Thank you for your sympathies at the time, feel a bit silly now as a matter of hours later DP asked me to marry him! Didn't seem to matter after that!

Sounds like you are all having a slightly confusing time below and I am sorry about the worry you feel maclairey. Do you have midwife or doctor you can talk to?

NicolaHazel · 24/07/2012 09:09

Awww...congrats, Dulcet :-)

I hope you manage to speak with someone, Maclairey.

CaveMum · 24/07/2012 09:17

Me again! Can I just say be very careful taking Agnus Castus. I've heard about it actually messing up the cycles for some women. It is also dangerous to take AC after ovulation has occurred as it has been linked to miscarriage, etc.

You should really consult someone who is qualified in herbal medicine first, rather than self-medicating.

Newbie2 · 24/07/2012 09:25

Woohoo Congratulations Dulcet :) what a happy surprise for you!

Mclairey I'm sorry to hear you're finding the first few weeks tough. I read in my pregnancy book for dummies that many ladies don't feel anything in the first trimester. My friend who is 4mths hasn't had any symptoms at all. Hope it helps to know you're not alone with feeling 'not pregnant'

MissPMA · 24/07/2012 09:26

Sorry about the stress maclairey I hope you manage to speak to someone and put your mind at rest. Congrats dulcet that's great news, sounds like you're going to be very busy planning a wedding and ttc :) thanks for the advice cave mum I hadn't realised it has a negative effect on cycles, done some research online and thought it would be ok, I've just finished my tablets and was going to go to h and b today to get some more but perhaps I won't now

Newbie2 · 24/07/2012 09:30

Cavemum don't worry I'm not planning to start taking EPO or Agnus until my body shows signs of AF or I've seen a doctor. I know how powerful drugs can be, even herbal ones. I'd rather see what happens with nature first and then get medical advice. I've heard Agnus works well for shortening cycles but probably not the best thing for me right now if I haven't even got a proper cycle yet.

purplefairies · 24/07/2012 09:31

Congratulations, Dulcet. What lovely news!

Maclairey, I've heard that symptoms are different for everyone. Some people feel constantly ill, others never fell ill, and most people say their symptoms come and go.

LisaC2611 · 24/07/2012 09:39

Aww congratulations dulcet what lovely news. A wedding will take your mind off the stress of ttc Grin

maclairey sorry to hear your stressing about your pg, I would get in touch with your midwife and have a chat before your appointment if I were you. Is there any reason why your booking in appt is so far away?

DulcetMoans · 24/07/2012 09:45

Thanks all!! It will keep me busy like you said. Not that I have a clue what I want to do about it but it's all very exciting!

My CB box of goodies is on the way to me...how to scare H2B in one easy lesson!

Maclairey · 24/07/2012 11:45

Congrats Dulcet, very happy for you!

Thanks for all the pma guys, much appreciated.

Apparently booking appointments are always around 10 weeks and that's what I will be for mine so it makes sense.

It would probably ease my worries to talk to someone but I don't have any midwife details until my booking appointment.

It's weird how I kind of want to be throwing up!

LisaC2611 · 24/07/2012 11:49

Nicola trust me it won't scare H2B, my hubby was dead against me putting it in our fridge and I did it for 3 days and he never even noticed (and probably wouldn't have if I hadn't said to him how unobservant he is)!

Newbie I'm only on cycle 4 - I don't want to make cycle 5! Hope that's not a sign Wink

Dulcet I didn't know what I wanted when we got engaged either, all I knew was that it was not going to be a big wedding and it wasn't going to be in a church. The rest I made up as we went along and everyone said what a nice wedding it was! Just enjoy it as it all goes very quickly.

Newbie2 · 24/07/2012 12:23

Oooops sorry Lisa!
