Men are rubbish! Mine was away last night too do no DTD but I'm only on CD10 so not too bad. Trying not to tire him out this month as we gave up too early last month I think. I think they just all think this is simple, do it once and be pregnant. They must be quickly learning that isn't the case!

LisaC2611 · 30/07/2012 07:50

My hubby told me to tell him when it's time to dtd rather than getting the hump because he's rejecting my advances but I was trying to keep it spontaneous rather than telling him he's got to do it which puts him under pressure to perform. So I told him last night he's got to go again tonight and we'll see if he does Grin

Morning all, hope you are all ok, been hectic this weekend which is why I haven't been on.

Newbie can I ask you a question about cbfm, I done a test on saturday and both lines were at the same colour so assumed I was ovulating. I done another test on Sunday and the LH line had gone , I done another this morning and I have 2 lines again at the same colour, bizarre ! My monitor still hasn't shown a peak as yet and is only high. Has this happened to you? What do the lines look like when you get a peak?

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 10:01

Morning ladies! Am I allowed to take back two vital points that I've said in the last 7 days? Is that allowed on here :)

  1. Firstly I wrongly said that my CBFM is stupid and doesn't work as AF hasnt shown up. I was wrong about this. It turns out that my cb digi OPKs have been telling me that I OV a week early (I've since read that this can happen so be aware of this if you're using them). Luckily I ignored the advice not to use my CBFM (because AF hasnt shown) and discovered this month that I actually ovulate a week later. I can confirm that this is true today because ive been temping with a basal thermometer and it dipped this morning which proves that I ovulated over the weekend. On top of this my body has been telling me that I'm ovulating which just goes to show that if you're one of the lucky ones to get OV pain then you don't need sticks.

  2. Yesterday I recommended telling OH's about your ovulation times. I said that my DH took it well and has been reacting well. Well, turns out that this was terrible advice as DH cracked yesterday and was too tired...peak day is not a good time to crack! So after a few failed attempts I then lost the plot (mad lady coming out again) and went to sleep in a grump. He woke me up at 5am and we somehow managed to DTD. We're both now shattered and I honestly don't think the stress was worth it!

Anyway, i hope you appreciate my insane burst of honesty rambling. I just wanted to clear a few things up because I don't want to give the impression that TTC is easy peasey for us...the truth is most of the time I'm eating my words :)

I'm a little disappointed that I still have the tugging feeling on my right side this morning :( I hope this is news of the Fallopian tube contracting and moving the eggy along and nothing serious. I think it might be best to move my doctors appointment now that I know for sure I'm on the 2ww.

Lisa I got stages of EWCM. I didn't spot it on underwear but it was noticeably different when DTD. Is that what you wanted to know?

Roxy you know you're not meant to read the lines right? Luckily for you I also checked my lines and they changed all the time (hence why we are not meant to look at them). My CBFM showed high from CD16 to CD27! On CD 28 and 29 it showed Peak and now CD 30 it's back to high. Ignore my actual cycle day numbers because now we know they are not my actual cycle days. But look how it shows I was on high for 12 days before I peaked!!! How many days have you shown high so far?

OP posts:
Roxyjade · 30/07/2012 10:23

Hey newbie, yes I no but I couldn't help having a little peak at them. I started using on cd6 I am now on cd18 and they have all said high so 12 days.

I really want a peak!

I went for my internal ultrasound on Saturday and it howes that my ovaries were absolutely fine, no cysts, uterus healty and womb healty.... So why the hell am I not pregnant yet!!! :(

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 10:30

Roxy that is really great news that your ovaries work again! My guess is that you ovulate later then you thought! I know it's hard but hang on in there because I think you might get your peak any day now! Did the ultrasound show you anything like when you might ovulate?

Sorry I meant work...not work again!

Roxyjade · 30/07/2012 11:42

Hey newbie

Well she said the only thing they couldn't look at was my tubes but I figured out if I'm having a period they must be ok as the egg is going down the tube. She did say that she could see one of follicles bigger than the other which indicates that there working (she said one will get bigger and bigger and then if it dosnt get fertilised it pops which is you period) did you get any peaks on the first month of you using the cbfm ?

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 11:53

Roxy this is my first month using CBFM. If she says they're getting bigger then it sounds like things are going to plan.

Nicola are you still experiencing the tugging? I'm really uncomfortable on the right side middle abdomen. It feels really tense :(

woody17 · 30/07/2012 12:15

Roxy I'm glad the internal scan went well - I hope it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.

Roxyjade · 30/07/2012 12:18

Oh sorry newbie I thought you had been using a while, well I def hope I get my peak soon

Hey woody, thank you and yes it really wasn't as bad as I thought

Hope you are well :)

NicolaHazel · 30/07/2012 12:25

Hi Newbie

Yes, I have that...left side though! Bit bored of it now :-/

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 12:32

Nicola ok...major sigh of relief that you know what I'm talking about!

OP posts:
NicolaHazel · 30/07/2012 12:34

I know exactly what you're talking about...it is a touch odd!

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 12:38

Do you think we will synchronise labour too? :)

OP posts:
MissMedusa · 30/07/2012 12:53

Newbie, your temps are not supposed to dip after you OV. Sometimes they will dip on the day before or the day of your OV but they must stay high after or you haven't OV'd (the exception might be a slight dip at implantation 6-12 days later - if you get PG). Your temps should only drop again when you get your AF. If you dipped this morning you could OV today but you will not have OV'd over the weekend.

It takes a few cycles of temping to understand how your cycle works. If you have any temping questions you can send me a message, I'm an expert at it in the mean time :-P

Roxyjade · 30/07/2012 13:18

Hi missmeduas

I'm going to starting temping next month, shall I start after my period. Also what is mean to happen? Does you temp rise when you ovulate ?

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 13:28

Hi MissM I forgot that you're the charting queen! My temp most of last week and at the weekend was 36.45 oC and then dropped to 36.19 this morning. So you think maybe I'm ovulating today? I don't know why but I thought it was meant to dip after you ovulate

LoveinNY · 30/07/2012 13:36

Afternoon ladies. Just back from the gym, dodging some rather biblical rain. If I don't get pg this month (which is highly likely as didnt get a +ve ov test this months) then I may look into the cbfm. Would many of you recommend it? Xx

MissMedusa · 30/07/2012 13:40

Yep, you definitely could be ovulating today. DTD if you can.

Have a look at other people's ovulatory charts on Fertility Finder. You'll see what the pattern should look like. Make sure you're taking your temperature at the same time, first thing in the morning, every day. As even two hours can make a huge difference. I take mine at 7:15 a.m. and if it's a crucial time, I even wake up on weekends to take my temperature before falling back asleep. You'll need more than a week to get a good idea of what your base temperature in each phase normally is (mine is usually around 36.2 before OV and around 36.5 in the luteal phase but it fluctuates by a few 10ths from day to day)

MissMedusa · 30/07/2012 13:46

roxy you can start temping when you start your period or when you've finished, it's just important to give yourself enough time to figure out what your baseline is. I usually start temping the day AF is finished.

Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 14:03

Thanks MissM that would certainly explain why my right ovary is uncomfortable. We DTD this morning at some crazy hour so thankfully I might be covered. I will deffinately look at other charts, thanks for the tip!

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 14:21

Love I do recommend the CBFM however, you might want to also take your temperature at the same time so you have some reassurance that you did actually ovulate.

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 30/07/2012 14:23

MissM ahhh Ok I get it now :) if I have OVd today then I can expect 3 consecutive peaks to follow from tomorrow onwards. Honestly what would I do without this thread!
