BFP in 2012- a thread for winkling-advice and COD-avoidance!

wishfulthinking1 · 15/07/2012 14:37

So... here we are!
In a positive move to avoid monthly heartache this is the thread where we'll ttc in 2012.

"will there be winkling?" of course!
"will there be tinkling?" too right! you filthy buggers
"will there be time in the COD?" probably- but it'll only be short lived!
"will there be BFPs?" YES YES YES!

A pledge! do you think I'm taking this too seriously?
I, wishfulthinking, promise to ttc with all my might. I accept that ttc is a long, drawn out process and I shant allow myself to become too obsessed with the process in 2012. (if I remain in-duffed at new year, however, I reserve the right to be right royally pissed off with life and everyone in general!)

Who's with me?

Wishfulthinkng1- ttc numero 1- expecting a sticky BFP on July 31st (and at 28 day intervals thereafter!) Days till wedding - 6!

Xxx

Well all you handshaking scorpios and bum wiggling cancerians fight it out and all of us changeable, undecided Librans will sit over here on the fence and debate who's side we're on! Grin

Nice to see there's a bit of a born in '79 club going on though :)

NicolaHazel · 27/07/2012 18:21

Now I feel positively ancient, Dulcet!

frustratedpants · 27/07/2012 18:22

Yeah we'll be the end of the 70s babyboom or the pesky younger siblings of the result of the actual babyboom

Also a very very very southern Scorpio here. (as risk of outing myself but think Olympics sailing shhh don't out me )

NicolaHazel · 27/07/2012 18:22

My H2B is a lovely 1979 baby too...just, as he scraped in on 23rd December!

I has myself a toy boy :-)

frustratedpants · 27/07/2012 18:24

Is the bum wiggle like the goonies truffle shuffle?

NicolaHazel · 27/07/2012 18:25

That would be awesome! :-)

Kittenkatzen · 27/07/2012 18:31

Ahhh goonies never say die Grin

I'm Aries just turned 30. I was aiming for a spring baby to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary but have doubts that i will achieve that now. If it doesn't happen soon I know I will stop caring when it happens and will just want it to happen whenever!

On another not DH has pursuaded me to book doctor appointment today. I read that no AFs and cramps during 2 ww is a strong sign of low prostegen so I'll be marching into the office next week asking for a blood test really hoping she says yes!!

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 18:47

Does anyone know if you can eat and drink before blood test? I'm just wondering if I should be prepared in case doc turns round and says I can't have it because I've had breakfast!

wishfulthinking1 · 27/07/2012 18:54

Pah- toy boys are so 90s- I've got me a sugar daddy!! He's so totally not- just saying like!!!

Newbie- I know what you mean about adjusting expectations! When I got pg in may I thought getting married whilst at 14 weeks and announcing the next day would be perfect. Now I'm hankering after an April baby I'm thinking, 'ooooh, a spring baby- what could be nicer?!' then it'll be, oooh, a 1 year anniversary baby! Then... A baby at christmas- just right! Just a baby would be nice!

Still no cramps- probably a good job- baby would probably be pickled this month with hen do, wedding and boozy school holidays!! It's dh's birthday on thursdsay- I'd AF hasn't arrived by then I'm going to test and hopefully give him a surprise birthday present!!

He doesn't keep up with the cycle days or ovulation so he won't notice ifI try not to mention it until then. Bless him, we dtd morning after wedding far too tired on the actual night, shhhhh! and after he said 'are we on a good cycle day according to your app?' duh, shag week finished last week which is why we haven't done it for 8 days!!

I do love him. Please please please AF STAY AWAY!!!

newbie I think if they needed you not to eat or drink they'd have mentioned it- I don't think it'll affect your blood test x

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 18:57

newbie What blood test? No though - you should be fine. They normally tell you beforehand if its a fasting test.

My DH and I are born in the same year - he is 8 months to the day older than me. :D

Who is pregnant on this thread? Anyone?

NicolaHazel · 27/07/2012 18:59

Apparently almost nobody DTD on their wedding night! Too drunk / tired / emotional!

I'm going to demand it the day after if I'm not preggers by then, as I'll be ovulating on the Monday, going by current cycles.

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 19:02

Hmmmmmmm I think we DTD on our wedding night.

Ironic though that I can't remember. I can remember everything except getting into bed.

I remember showering and getting my pins out my hair and DH helping me getting all the crap out. I remember sitting at the edge of the bed and opening presents.

We'd got married in our garden and my brother and SIL decorated our bedroom at home. We thought it would be less stressful to stay home for the night. We were right. But its' random because I don't remember bits of it. I think it was so stressful!

KickTheGuru · 27/07/2012 19:02

And I really wasn't hammered! Grin

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2012 19:04

I got myself a toy boy too by 4 months but ow how he loves telling everyone!!!
Wishful- so cute is this a good shag day lol I tell my hubbie no sometimes when I think well not definatly just so he thinks I'm not using him and want him anyway then try to subtly think if ways I can lift my bum slightly lol

kittykatsforever · 27/07/2012 19:04

Oh and I did it the next morning too Wink

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 19:14

Kick I'll be asking for a blood test to check hormones and prostegen levels because AF is refusing to arrive. I might call the doctors on Monday to check about food and drink. I don't want to hype myself up only to be turned away. Also realised I might need a double booking if its for a blood test.

Newbie2 · 27/07/2012 19:15

Oh and I've never felt so emotional and tired as I did on my wedding night...nothis prepares you does it!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 27/07/2012 19:38

Wow early 30s is a really common age. I am 33 - 34 in February Sad

fatasbutter · 27/07/2012 22:34

newbie you won't need to fast for those ones - its only stuff like cholesterol really

Am watching the mental opening ceremony - anyone else watching?

NicolaHazel · 27/07/2012 22:39

I am...eccentrically awesome!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 27/07/2012 22:42

I am watching too. It is mental but I like it. Got boring now - might get some more wine.

frustratedpants · 27/07/2012 22:55
