Am ttc db2 but still bfeeding dd (9mths) about once a day. No af since giving birth so no idea if ovulating etc but have just started using my isis scope (excellent gadget for ttc imo!) and have found fern patterns which indicate fertile period....and we bd last night!! Have loads of cm too which i think can mean ovulation??

Am well aware that i am setting myself up for a BIG fall but am v excited at the prospect that I am fertile again :-) Am assuming need to wait about 2 weeks to test but obviously as no af its hard to know (and hard to wait!!!)

Anyway wanted to share tmi with everyone in my excitement! Fingers crossed for a db due 23rd Nov 2006 :o :o :o :o

Hi Rubymummy don't think we have spoke before but fingers crossed for you! I am still BF my 11mth old and have had no AF either - didn't realise you could be fertile without it - how does that work?

Wow, I BF loads including through the night, and as there's no AF I just assumed it wasn't possible... I don't want another just yet but it is good to know that I shouldn't be complacent!

you definitely can get pregnant while breastfeeding.... it's a myth that you can't!
i know several people who have done so

Ooooh thats exciting RubyMummy, really hope you've done it!!! Last couple of months I've noticed ewcm too which wasn't there since before dd so something is happening. We bd'd too but have to wait until Sunday at the earliest to test and the wait is killing me! Deep down I know I will be disappointed by a bfn, but at the same time I am so sure was ov as had all the signs.

Sorry if too personal RM but have you been getting the ewcm for long (while bf) or is this the first cycle of it? Just curious if it does mean ov or if some people have it all the time anyway - hope that makes sense!

im bf my dd and she is 19 months.periods returned when she was 12 months,and we are ttc again.period is late (im usually every 21 days-its now 34 days).my friend bf whilst pg with dd2,so yes you can get pg when still bf!!by the way,sorry to be thick,but what does cm and ewcm mean?

bobblehead - have had for about 5 days which is apparently normal for my age (25- it decreases as you get older to 1-2 days in your late 30s apparently). But there is much more today and its much more ewcm than cm!

Buffy - you will regret asking! It means cervical mucus! and ewcm is egg white cm which indicates ovulation.

cm = cervical mucus

ewcm = egg white cervical mucus ( the stretchy fertile stuff)

urghhh!!!i know its normal,but...urghh!!!daft question,but does your cm increase if you are pregnant?ive noticed that over the last couple of days,that i have a bit more than i usually do mid cycle.ive had kids before,but tbh ive never really paid much attention to things down there!!

oh god!!mine at the moment is clear and there seems to be quite alot more than there was a couple of weeks ago.i remember having thicker white discharge in pregnancy but not this.dont know if i am pg or not!did digital test the other day and was neg,but when i took the stick thing out of the digital bit,there was areally faint line near the other one.dh reckons im just too early for it to pick it up properly.im usually dead on 21 days and havent been this late before without being pg!!!so maybe it is too early

thanks ruby!!still no sign!!cant stop eating either,but also felt really sick when i went in the bathroom this morning!!(toothpaste always makes me feel sick when im pg!!)am going to do another test over the weekend,so will let you know!!
