Thought we could do with a new thread since the old one is full.

pebs I also had spotting about 2 days after starting the heparin, I had it for almost a week and it progressed from brown to a big wipe of red which made me think it was all over (Again). I cried and accepted it and then the next day, nothing at all. It can be a bit of implantation and the heparin/aspirin can make it worse but perversely they are helping tiwth implantation. I really hope this is the case for you, thinking of you!

pebspop · 09/08/2012 09:32

far i was wondering if this had happened to you as well.

thanks for that you have given me a bit of confidence!

farfallarocks · 09/08/2012 09:37

Keeping everything crossed for you! Can you have your HCG levels checked?
Mine were doubling every 48 hrs throughout the spotting which reassured me.

iamci · 09/08/2012 09:48

Hi all, this is our second month ttc after a very slow mc in april.

Going to test on saturday. not getting hopes up though - I'm sure I felt more pregnant last time Confused

almond I had to go to hosp for blood tests till they dropped to negative. I was told that wouldn't ovulate till hcg level dropped below 25. It took 7 wks for me then waited for af to make sure everything was back to normal x

Melobear · 09/08/2012 09:55

Thanks for the welcome all. So glad I found this site. Not too sure on all the abbreviations but think I have most of them figured. My story is that I'm ttc again after a bad nc on April 11. Took a long break, had to for mental health as it was 5/5 that mc. Just reading your posts has given hope that things could work out and if not this time, have got friends who understand now Smile

pebspop · 09/08/2012 11:53

not sure where i would get the hcg levels done? is it something my gp would do?

i would probably be nervous as hell waiting for the 48 hours to pass.

had a tiny bit of spotting today. it was a really tiny bit.

melo have you had testing? five mc's must be terrible. i am pg for the 4th time and currently spotting so i am freaking out a little bit.

woody17 · 09/08/2012 12:02

miggle I would suggest getting a cb digital test and see what that says - I found tests with lines to be quite difficult to interpret but couldn't argue with the word.

mumtumwanted I'm glad that you got the all clear and that he's thought of a plan of action for when you do fall pg again.

woody17 · 09/08/2012 12:07

iamci would a level of 25 still show up on some pg tests? Does anyone else know about this?

pebs hope you are feeling ok. Yes, your GP could do the hcg levels or I think sometimes the epu will.

Really sorry to hear about your mcs melo

Melobear · 09/08/2012 12:23

pebs I've had tests done and all normal so gp said it was just bad luck. Changed gps as I didn't believe that it was just bad luck. Longest one was 10 weeks and that was last April. New gp seems to take me serious and explained previous tests were too limited to give full picture an agrees there's more to the story. Also have history of mc in the family and that might be related - mum, aunt and maternal gm had 10 mc each and only two/three healthy pgs.

Please don't fret your pg because of me. Seriously hope all goes well and for Hgc testing, try your local boots or family planning or even a&e. With last mc I started spotting so went local minor injuries unit at hosp due to history and they said a&e can test if it's mc or not. Nurses at a&e told me that some pharmacies and family planning can also test if ever I needed because wait at a&e was so long and they don't put mc all that high on the list at my hosp.

pebspop · 09/08/2012 12:32

after three previous mc's i don't need to fret over your mc's melo i have plenty of experience myself so don't worry!

can you get a refferal to a recurrent misscarriage clinic? i don't know where you live but i think st marys in london is the best. i go to liverpool.

10 mc's each - wow your family must be made of strong stuff. i am the first in my family to go through this.

i think i will go and ring my gp now and see what they say re hcg tests.

lurcherlover · 09/08/2012 13:11

I am waiting for my hcg test results from my gp peg so they should definitely do them for you. Fingers crossed.

pebspop · 09/08/2012 13:15

i rang epu and they just told me to come in for a scan next week. i have booked it for next friday. they said they could do the hcg but scan is better confirmation.

lurcherlover · 09/08/2012 13:40

Bloody hell. I've just phoned the gp to get my hcg level results from my test on Tues, and the receptionist said they're "borderline". Wtf does that mean?! I asked if there was an exact number for the amount of hcg recorded and she said no, just that it's come back "borderline" and I'm to have the test repeated on Mon. But I don't understand - how can it be borderline? Not enough for this stage in pregnancy? But they don't know how far along I am... And it can't be borderline positive or not, you're either pregnant or you're not. Wtf??

StateofConfusion · 09/08/2012 13:49

Oh lurcher is there anyway you can ring and talk to a gp/nurse instead of the receptionist? (At my gp they are the same and the receptionist is like an 15ft wall to get by) They can't leave you in such limbo! There will be a number. Grr some drs receptionists really grind my gears!!!

lurcherlover · 09/08/2012 13:56

She had to go and ask the dr about the results and that's what he told her to say! I feel really sick. I just want to know the number as I know the window of what are considered "normal" levels is really wide. If I knew the exact figure I could relax a bit. Might phone them back as I can't wait until next week not knowing.

lurcherlover · 09/08/2012 14:01

Phoned them. Hcg levels were 90 on Tues when my estimate is that I was 4+2. Checked my book and normal levels for four weeks preg are 5 to 426, and for 5 weeks preg 19 to 7340. So I'm within normal parameters, although I wish my level had been a bit more towards the top end than the bottom...fingers crossed for a big increase after my next test on Mon.

farfallarocks · 09/08/2012 14:08

pebs I had mine done at the hospital, my GP does no blood tests for some reason, you have to go the hossie for everything.
Once levels get above 1000 its easier to see what is going on with a scan I believe. I had the spotting very early and I think the levels went 200, 600, 1300ish so it was reassuring (Although so awful waiting, you are right) to see them going up despite the spotting.

lurcher the levels in themselves are not that important, as you can see, the range varies hugely, what matters is that the levels are rising appropriately which i believe is going up 60% minimum in 40 hours so hopefully the test on Monday should give you confirmation of what is happening, good luck!

StateofConfusion · 09/08/2012 14:43

Glad you have a clearer answer Lurcher and its within normal.

pebspop · 09/08/2012 14:56

i am not bothering with the hcg. it's too much hassel to keep going to the hospital and it can't change anything. i will be stressed out with the waiting.

i asked if things have gone wrong can i have the erpc straight away but they said no. i would have to come back in a week to have a re-scan.

will be praying everything is ok.

far can you pop back regularly to keep me from going crazy? don't think anyone else is on the injections!

iamci · 09/08/2012 14:58

woody just the cheapy ones I've got say they pick up around 20. I know for blood tests under 5 is negative, over 25 is pregnant and inbetween is inconclusive. So, 25 "should" be picked up as far as I know.

Just caved and did test. Bfn - af not due till tues though x

farfallarocks · 09/08/2012 16:20

Don't worry pebs I am here (holding your hand) and hoping for good news at your scan next week

JaffaSnaffle · 09/08/2012 16:28

Woody, I think surprisingly one of the most sensitive tests are superdrug's own, which either pick up at 10 or 15, can't remember peed on too many sticks in my time-

pebs, still thinking of you. How is bleeding today? Hope it has reduced a bit or gone away. I don't know anything about heparin so have nothing practical to say, just thinking of you.

mumtum, just wanted to say welcome back and good luck with ttc. And your name comes up as 'my rum' on predictive text. : )

woody17 · 09/08/2012 16:38

ok thanks iamci - so did your dr say you could get pg before a test goes back to -ve (if the levels are below 25)?

lurcher I hope that everything is ok. It's good that you are within the limits of what's 'normal'

pebs hope you are feeling ok today - glad you've got a scan arranged.

pebspop · 09/08/2012 16:41

thanks far. i feel a bit more relaxed now that i have an appointment booked. work has been taking my mind off things as well - even managed to forget everything for a good few hours this afternoon.

theres lots of gossip going on in the office with people changing jobs, getting married etc so it's been quite fun this week.

jaffa the bleeding is still there but it is more brown than pink.

JaffaSnaffle · 09/08/2012 16:48

Brown is usually good in that it is old blood, so hopefully that is the end of it?
