Thought we could do with a new thread since the old one is full.

Lots of fun and games here. Was at work (in a hospital) and had some pinkish bleeding so after locking myself in the loo and wailing- I ventured down to A&E. All a bit stressful as the EPU/gynae stuff is on a different site but they managed to find someone to scan me. Scan inconclusive - 3mm thing which she thought might be an early sac. Will probably need a repeat scan next week. Not feeling very positive as did another clearblue digi yesterday (I know I know) and I've gone down from 2-3 to 1-2.

Just waiting to go back in and see the doctor now who hopefully will come up with a plan with the EPU team.

woody17 · 09/08/2012 17:56

Hi jollyb i hope that you are ok. It's a good sign that there is something on the scan.

I did the same with cb but then it quickly went back up again.

Hope they come up with a plan and hope you are ok.

StateofConfusion · 09/08/2012 18:17

Squeezes for jolly lurcher and pebs xxx

pebspop · 09/08/2012 20:12

jolly hope everything is ok with you. i hate all this worry and stress in early pg. how are we supposed to get through it? i suppose we all have to endure everything that is thrown our way and hope for the best whilst fearing the worst.

step away from the cb digis (although you might want to try one more to see if it goes back up - who could blame you)

i had a bit of brown sludge this evening. doesn't give me much confidence really. really want the scan on friday now to find out what is happening.

StateofConfusion · 09/08/2012 22:32

pebs i had brown sludge with all my pregnancies except the ones i lost. Between 6-10wks i believe.

Its my scan tomorrow, the fear is still there, but mixed with excitement. Fingers crossed all is well with wriggler.

Jollyb · 10/08/2012 06:30

Morning all. Going to be rescanned in 7-10 days. Apparently they don't do bhcgs in our unit unless they are suspecting an ectopic and as they saw something in my uterus they are reasonably happy it's not (though my friend Dr Google tells me you can get pseudo sacs with ectopic pregnancies which has now freaked me out).

Bleeding stopped again but in a way I just wish it would start and continue so I can get everything over and done with as I think a bad outcome is inevitable. My 'sac' only measured 3mm which is what it should be at 4 - 4 1/2 weeks - given that my first positive test was 2 weeks ago I really don't think my dates are that far out.

Anyhow enough moaning from me. I hope everyone else is ok. pebs hope everything settles down over the weekend. How are you getting on with the injections? lurcher please don't stress too much about the numbers - as others have said the rate of rise is the important thing. Have you had a look at the betabase website?you may find that reassuring.
state good luck for you scan and hope you see lots of wiggling and wriggling!!

lurcherlover · 10/08/2012 08:38

Thinking of state and pebs today as you have your scans - everything crossed for you girls.

Jolly, sorry you're going through all this. I don't know what the best way of dealing with the waiting around is really. You never know, if you did a sensitive test your dates might be a bit out but I know the waiting for news is awful.

Thanks for recommending betabase - I haven't heard of it but I'm going to check it out now.

woody17 · 10/08/2012 09:43

State and pebs hope your scans go well.

lurcher ov might have happened later than you thought? It's horrible all the waiting. Really hope that everything is ok.

backwardpossom · 10/08/2012 09:58

Hope your scans go well pebs and state!

Big hugs jolly the waiting is rubbish :(

I got a letter through for my 12 week scan this morning for the 3rd of September which is a day off so I don't have to book the time off work thankfully. :) Can't wait to see the splodge (as I have now nicknamed him/her - that's what it looked like at 9+1!) again, but obviously still anxious...

pebspop · 10/08/2012 10:01

my scan is next friday

good luck for today state

jolly are you going to work whilst you are waiting for the next scan? i stayed off last time but i think i would probably go in if it happened again.

the injections are getting better. the first couple really bruised me and one of them is still hurting like hell i can't even touch my leg where i did it. last night i read the instructions (instead of just following what the nurse had said) and it was much better - no bruise at all, i though dh wasn't going to believe that i had done it!

i am trying to remain calm and serene but it's difficult sometimes. i feel really nervous all the time. i was making a very loud humming noise in my sleep last night which must be the stress coming out.

this is really bloody hard

Melobear · 10/08/2012 11:05

Good luck to pebs, state, jolly and lurcher. Hope it all goes well for you.
So I did a test today (asda own) as I'm a few days later than when I expected and there was the faintest of faint lines (could have imagined it) but now I'm trying to stop myself from getting excited and worried/freaked at the same time. Why is this all so complicated?

StateofConfusion · 10/08/2012 11:07

Scan went really well, everything as it should be and baby has a nice strong heartbeat and is very active. A bit too active so half way through checking spine and heart it flipped over twice, so I get another scan in 12 days horray! And legs were crossed firmly so they said they will check the sex at the next one too. Lovely sonographer, had both dcs with me and she was wonderful with them and spoke us through every part of the scan instead of all the fear inducing silences!

So 20+6, time to man up, and accept wriggler is here to stay!

woody17 · 10/08/2012 11:11

Sorry pebs - I do hope it goes well next week. The waiting is horrible, especially because there is nothing that you can do but wait. It sounds like it might be linked to the injections. I had to wait from a Tuesday until Friday the following week - I did find that after the weekend, the time seemed to go by a little bit quicker. I know that I can't say anything to make it any better.

Glad you've got your next scan date through backwardpossom

Melobear as I've been told on here, a line is a line so congratulations! Mine started off incredibly faint, almost invisible.

pebspop · 10/08/2012 11:18

great news state i bet you are so relieved.

melo congrats, i really hope this is the one for you. will you be trying anything different this time?

woody i don't mind the waiting as i know they won't really be able to see anything at the moment and i want to go when i will be able to see the heartbeat. i have a scan booked in for a week after as well at the rmc so if everything is ok i will have two reassurances close together.

i really am hoping that this bit of spotting is nothing sinister.

woody17 · 10/08/2012 11:21

Glad the scan went well state

I had a tiny bit of brown spotting this morning - wondering hoping if it could be implantation bleeding? I'm not sure if it fits with dates though. How close to ov can implantation take place?

Melobear · 10/08/2012 11:33

Ok then, I'm pg again Shock. I have made an appoint with gp for tues to confirm etc. Going on past experiences it might be good not to get too excited till then. Waiting for hubby to wake so I can tell him though. Learned my lesson there!

pebs I'd like to say I'd a lot of do things differently but think there is very little I can change except maybe stay out the way of the dogs (2 GSD). Definitely going to take it easy till tues day at least. When I was pg last time I was really stressed because work was making redundancies. Managed to keep the job but not the baby. I've lost the job in this round of cuts so have been stressing about finding work etc. So God only knows what's going to happen now.

pebspop · 10/08/2012 11:49

do you think the dogs could have caused mc?

i have three cats and i am aware that they can cause mc if you get toxoplasmosis from their poo.

i am not sure about stress causing mc. when i had my 20 week one we had a bad thing happen in my family and i thought that might have caused it. the midwife told me that it couldn't. she said 50 women were pg when they lost their partners/husbands in 9/11 and none had a mc. also she said women in war zones have babies all the time. but then they tell you to relax all the time so its a bit contradiciting. as it turned out my placenta was clogged with blood clots so it wasn't stress related.

Melobear · 10/08/2012 14:56

Dogs can get bit over excited and jump up. As paws land in abdomen area and try and avoid them as well as tell them off.

If it wasn't stress then no idea then. Test all came back "normal" whatever that may be after last mc. As I was seen etc they were able to do tests. Tried discussing it with gp at time but all he said was it was bad luck etc which is why I moved gps.

Also have cats but deal with dh is that wholistic ttc cats are his responsibility and their tray needs to be sorted at least every other day. Also moved tray to a room I rarely use to minimise exposure.

Melobear · 10/08/2012 14:56

*whilst trying

lurcherlover · 10/08/2012 15:02

Melo, I'm sure your dogs can't have caused a mc - I was worried that da bouncing around on my stomach might have caused mine, but the consultant said the baby is very well cushioned and women in car crashes often don't miscarry.

Woo state! Brilliant news. It's such a relief to get the 20 week scan done isn't it? Great news x

lurcherlover · 10/08/2012 15:02

Should be DS bouncing on my stomach!!

pebspop · 10/08/2012 15:31

my heaviest cat (well over a stone) use to sleep on my stomach during first pg. after mc i don't let him do it anymore. he still likes to snuggle up to me when i am pg but i try to get him next to me rather than on me.

he spent the last few months sitting on his own in the spare room, since getting pg he is sitting on my knee everyday. it gives me a bit of confidence when he does this as cats can sense these things i think.

luckily my cats don't have a tray so i don't need to deal with poo but they do puke up a bit so dh sorts that out.

Melobear · 10/08/2012 15:31

That is what I thought lurcher but after 5/5 and this possibly being number 6 I am taking every precaution I can. If that means being wrapped in a duvet in bed for next 9 months, then dh will have to get a tv with sky and toilet installed in bedroom pronto!

pebspop · 10/08/2012 15:48

i would love to be wrapped in a duvet for 9 months!

i am trying to lie down and relax as much as possible but i have to go to work :(

every evening i try to go straight home and lie down and all day sunday is being blocked out for more lying down!

Melobear · 10/08/2012 16:46

Resting is important. Or so I keep being told by friends who have been blessed already.
