Thought we could do with a new thread since the old one is full.

Thanks state and lurcher you've made me feel better now. Hopefully it will have been enough!

MiggleMoo · 08/08/2012 14:27

Good luck Woody!!
I have to say state and lurcher completely agree with you, i was so clueless about the affect of MC until it happened to me. SIL went through one when I was pregnant and I thought she took it really hard, now it is the opposite way round I completely get it! Wish I had had more understanding before but at least i can be more supprotive now.

pebspop · 08/08/2012 17:32

freaking out a bit here. a small trickle of blood came out when I went to toilet.

rang my local epu and they said to keep an eye on it and ring back on Friday.

how do I deal with four mcs and no children.

fingers crossed I am just having a small bleed and everything will be ok

MiggleMoo · 08/08/2012 17:58

Thinking of you pepspop.
If it helps at all when I had my DS I had quite a lot of intermittent bleeding on and off early on and he was fine. Keeping everything crossed for you. X

pebspop · 08/08/2012 18:14

thanks for replying miggle

i know bleeding can be normal and too be honest it's not the way my mc's have started really.

it just freaks you out when you want it so much but any little problem seems like a mountain to climb.

i have been trying to ring the miscarriage association. they have some nice people running a helpline but it closes at 5 so i was too late.

i will just have to pray that this is just a bit of bleeding and everything else is ok.

i am going to be doing my injection when dh gets home so i will see how the bleeding goes then.

StateofConfusion · 08/08/2012 18:25

pebs excuse me if I'm wrong but your injections are to prevent clotting therefore thinning your blood? If so my grandma was on them for some time and had spotting etc and bled easily in circumstances the body wouldn't usually.

Also I had spotting/smear of blood early on.

Relax and take care x

pebspop · 08/08/2012 18:32

you are correct state. the spotting started about 3hrs after the first injection. i will be having another later so will see if it gets worse. the hospital said it nothing to do with the injections though.

i am also taking asprin which thins the blood as well.

you know how it is though - previous mc's don;t make you very confident!

pebspop · 08/08/2012 18:33

i am currently lying on the sofa waiting for dh to come home with my tea. i was supposed to be going to a property auction but decided it was wiser to give it a miss.

StateofConfusion · 08/08/2012 18:54

Resting is wise pebs totally understand your anxiety, I'm not brilliant with words just trying to say cervix's are very easily irritated, and what could be a brown spot for someone not on asprin/jabs etc, could cause a wee trickle for you, does that make sense. I caused spotting with obsessive wiping and checking at one point Blush

woody17 · 08/08/2012 18:56

pebs I really hope that everything is ok.

miggle I know what you mean, I had no idea what it was like to have a mc, until I had one myself.

Moominsarescary · 08/08/2012 19:02

pebs Was going to say the same as state I think the risk of bleeding due to blood thinning injections is small, yet it's not impossible. Will be keeping my fx xx

pebspop · 08/08/2012 19:10

i am finding plenty of forums where ladies seem to be experiencing more bleeding as they are on similar injections to myself.

they are making sense to me as they are saying any tiny bit of bleeding will be exaggerated by the thinners. blood which may have gone unnoticed without the thinners will look a lot worse with them.

i will just keep trying to relax.

JaffaSnaffle · 08/08/2012 19:32

pebs, I am thinking of you. I am glad you are finding some explanations connected to the heparin. Look after yourself tonight, and good luck with the epu etc tomorrow x

Almond301 · 08/08/2012 20:07

Pebs - hope everything is ok x

I just wondered if I can get everyone's advice? So its a couple of weeks since my MC and I haven't had any bleeding for 5 days. I have done a couple of pg tests to see if the hormones are gone and they are showing a very very faint line. I used the Superdrug own brand ones which I have since realised are very sensitive. I just wondered if I am ok to start TTC or should wait until there is absolutely no line? What are the risks if we do start? Think we have agreed not to wait for AF but it seems more practical as at least you know where you are!!

Only small problem is that we haven't actually DTD for about a month now and it is starting to be the elephant in the room...hmmm

Polka2 · 08/08/2012 20:33

pebs fingers and toes are crossed for you though it does make logical sense there's a link with the jabs but I know logic goes out if the window following a mc Wink hugs Hun as I know youust be metalling like crazy!

MiggleMoo · 08/08/2012 20:39

Almond - my gp told me to get right back on the horse so to speak once my HCG level dropped to single figures in the blood tests, for me this was even before the bleeding stopped but still showed the faintest of lines in preg test for another week or so then got -ve's. 3 1/2 weeks later (after MC started) I am getting a faint line when I have had -ve's before. On one hand its good on the other suddenly made me realise that I am not sure i am emotionally ready and obsessed this must still be left over hormones!
I am a strong believer that you'll body will fall pregnant when in a fit state to do so..... however lots of people believe it is good to wait a whole cycle before the next go.

lurcherlover · 08/08/2012 21:23

pebs when I was pregnant with ds (a very healthy pregnancy), I had bleeding which was caused by a cervical ectropion - they are very common in pregnancy, and it would make sense that blood-thinning injections would make it more likely to bleed. How many weeks are you now? Really hope it's OK - will they scan you on Friday?

Almond I had +ve tests for almost three weeks after my ERPC, but I found that once they went to very faint lines they went -ve very quickly after that. So if you can bear to wait you will probably get a bfn very soon. Personally I felt I had to see that so that I would know for definite that a future bfp was a new pregnancy. Having said that, we waited for one AF, and then my cycle after that was completely messed up - I have conceived this cycle, but I don't know when as it's been a really long cycle but I didn't get a bfp until Sunday (and even then it was a faint one). So what I'm trying to say is that they tell you to wait for an AF so you can date a future pregnancy more accurately, but in my case that hasn't helped as my cycle after AF was just as irregular. So if you're ready to ttc again, no reason not to really. Maybe start gently if it's been a while though, just have a snog or a massage or something and work your way up to it?!

Miggle are you definitely getting leftover hormones or could you be pg again?

woody17 · 08/08/2012 21:59

almond I was getting +ve pg tests for about 2 weeks after the bleeding stopped but this seems to vary for everyone. I was told that we could start dtd as soon as the bleeding stopped - which we did! But as far as I can understand it, you won't ovulate until the levels have completely dropped down - however, I don't know if this is true or not!

I think sometimes they advise to wait until after the first af purely for dating reasons. I've said before on here but the leaflet I was given from the miscarriage association says that a recent study has shown that if you do get pg within 6 months of a mc, you are less likely to have one.

I felt exactly the same - I just felt desperate to get pg again, as soon as possible.

Melobear · 08/08/2012 22:08

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site just signed up. Wanted to say hello

StateofConfusion · 08/08/2012 22:34

hello melo

MiggleMoo · 08/08/2012 22:38

Lurcherlover - GP pointed to me to 'new' pregnancy, hormones dropped too low for any to be left over, just my worry and obsessiveness that is trying to reason and protect myself if it goes wrong again I suppose???

Melobear - Welcome :-)

Pebs - still thinking of you and keeping all crossed!! xx

Almond301 · 08/08/2012 22:43

Thanks Moo, Lurcher & Woody for you responses. That has helped put my mind at ease a bit. I think just DTD will just help generally with my emotional well being. Fingers crossed i can convince the OH Wink. It will be nice to feel closer to to him if nothing else! If pg happens then it happens I guess!!

Welcome melo!

MumTumWanted · 09/08/2012 08:10

Hi ladies

Sneaking in very quickly I need to up date myself I've actively taken a break since the mc but yesterday had my appt with the consultant and 3 months after my erpc u collected all my results. Nothing. All normal no obvious causes. I'm a bit stumped. We got all clear to ttc ASAP. So we willGrin I guess I just fall into that unlucky category. He did say as soon as I get bfp call and they will prescribe progesterone pessaries and as soon as I get heartbeat on a scan easier said than done the last 3 nevr got that farcan start baby aspirin as neither will harm but may help but no guarantees..... Any thoughts anyone? Xxxx

Congrats to all the good news x and to all of those who haven't yet I'm thinking of you all and sending hugs x

MiggleMoo · 09/08/2012 08:50

Oh MumTum sounds like you have had a hell of a time with all of this. My SIL went through something similar and the pessaries seemed to do the trick as she now has a lovely 8mth dd.

I'm a bit confused today, did another test this morn and couldn't see a second line (though last was very, very faint). Wondering if I imagined it all but in mind I am sure I am pregnant again, very sore breasts, tingly nipples, blaoting and cramping...... feel like I have gone completely mad with all of this! Maybe I am imaging lines where there aren't any and imagining symptoms as that is what I want to see.... Not yet 4 weeks since MC so could just be too early??? Or is that false hope and I need to go back to drawing board!

gothinrecovery · 09/08/2012 09:00
