Hello everyone waves

Just back from my scan. I'm measuring 7+1 with a good strong heart beat Grin. UCH were fabulous, was seen straight away and had a lovely doctor who talked us through everything. She even checked out my kidneys whilst we were there. Apparently I ovulated twice this month, but defiantly only one baby. It's amazing what they can see. Anyway, I've been told that all is well and my risk of mcing before 12 weeks is very low.

Right, need to get on with some work now.

((hugs)) to pixie

sorry to hear about the confusion pixie. I echo everyone else in that you don't know when you might have ov'ed, AND add that babies grow in fits and starts. Today you are pregnant x

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 11:00

Super news on your scan confused!

CAH2012 · 19/07/2012 12:38

confused Thats amazing, so happy and excited for you!
Pixie you must be worried, but keep positive!

I just came back from my Dr, its been 4 weeks exactly since MC and ERPC. He was meant to go through test results from the op, but he didnt have them yet! Bit of a wasted trip- but told him i got my first period on Monday and so he has given me Clomid to start taking tomorrow (day 5), i took it last time and conceived so hopefully it will work its magic again!! Fingers crossed.

Im going back to see him on tues to get results and also he said he will scan me and check where i am in cycle and maybe give me an injection which will release the eggs?! strange- never heard of this b4!!

Really excited to ttc again, but scared for the sex bit, its been about 6 weeks!!!

ConfusedMumDotCom · 19/07/2012 13:16

Thank you everyone. I know it's a long way to go, but I think I can actually believe that I'm pregnant. Grin

Jollyb · 19/07/2012 15:00

Hello all

pixie am thinking of you and crossing all my fingers and toes that next week's scan will bring good news.

confused fantastic news on your scan. And good to have a reassuring doctor/ sonographer too. I had a scan at 8 weeks with my daughter and the doctor told me that with a healthy scan at this point there was a 93% chance that all would be ok. It was great to have a figure like that to hold on to (even though this was pre MCs and when I was far less stressed about such things)

CAH am sure you'll remember what to do (the sex bit that is!!)

Wilde I think I got my dates wrong and that I ovulated on the same day as you so we can be POAS buddies. How are you feeling? We've all had a bit of a bug here in France and so cheese and alcohol are off the menu anyhow.

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 15:36

yo jolly am ticketty boo, ta :) Am 4dpo and my week is so full (am working which is why am on MN all the time this week!) and this weekend is so fabulous (going away with bezzy mate and family to lakes till Mon) that I am not really thinking about it as much as the past couple of months. well, I have thought about it quite a lot today but only to think that I don't think this is my month.

hope you are ok and the bug didn't ruin your holiday?

Am testing early on weds/Thurs. Expect a BFN which is odd for me as am normally convinced I am pg by now as I get strong post ov symptoms/pms that I always think are mega early pg signs! am crackers when are you testing? I only have a 12 day LP so 10 dpo doesn't feel that early for me...

Jollyb · 19/07/2012 16:02

This is when I'm meant to say the first day of my missed period isn't it? Ha ha

I don't have much willpower and so realistically I'll probably start testing 10 DPO. dreading a BFN though. So much better being in blissful ignorance.

Maybe my queasiness is very early morning sickness - not sure that would explain the other problem!

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 17:15

every time I say I won't test until AF is due I crack ridiculously early Grin better to just fess up from the off that I will test at 10dpo and therefore avoid testing at 6/7/8 Blush

dreading BFN too. I just wish I could know in a more gentle way, but just as soon as 10dpo!

Boobs started tingling and cramps started which makes me think am definitely out already as these are pms signs. would I still get pms if I am pg? even before implantation? who gets pms for two weeks anyway :(

confused and desperately avoiding google!

Quicksie · 19/07/2012 17:36

Yay confused! That is MEGA!
CAH what is this magic injection your GP is dishing out?! It sounds like a super idea! Imagine just having a shot of that at a time that suits, instead of all the thermometer juggling, CM stretch testing, imaginary ov pains analysis...Science is good and not just because Brian Cox is on telly.
Wilde if pg can cause sore bbs etc, surely it can also cause PMS symptoms?! Isn't it cruel that pg early signs are so close to AF signs! Much better if once pg, we turned blue all over, something clear at least. Well maybe not blue all over, that would cause issues at work, but perhaps blue armpits, or toe nails or something. Is random waffling on MN a symptom of pg?!?
Jolly hope you are feeling better.

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 17:56

think am just really sensitive to progesterone? so get post ov/pms symptoms straight after ov and they just get stronger as I get to AF. Don't know what would happen if pg, this is my third cycle of post-mc weirdness! Didn't have it before :( superstition in me thinks that I wouldn't get it if pg tho.

JaffaSnaffle · 19/07/2012 18:25

Just come back from MW appointment and my uterus is measuring small. I'm 24 wks, measuring 20 cm, which is just on the border of the graph. Got usual fob off rubbish about leaving it 2 weeks, not to worry etc, but I am terrified. My blood results, particularly Papp-a indicated possible poor growth. And now it might be happening. Going to try to go private, but local clinic doesnt run fri-sun, so hit weekend delays again. Please think of me.

wilderumpus · 19/07/2012 18:42

jaffa sorry you are frightened. Seriously though, and really try to listen, their measuring system is from the dark ages and it is really, truly known that it is just a guideline. I have had two friends sent for growth scans because they were measuring very big and their babies were completely fine sized. I had a normal size 'bump' but my baby was actually pretty small (6lbs at nearly 38 weeks).

Don't forget that someone has to have the small babies, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them, they just might be small.

And also your bump can grow enormous literally overnight you really will have growth spurts.

Please don't be sad. hugs x

Tiago · 19/07/2012 19:27

Jaffa - my bumP shrinks and grows depending on whether the baby wants to attempt to squash herself back into a tiny ball in my pelvis or not. Try not to worry - it's quite a bit of guesswork for them at this stage.

Quicksie · 19/07/2012 19:38

jaffa I am thinking of you...A friend of mine had the same worries a few years ago and she had a small, but perfect little girl.
I guess it is also worth remembering those ladies who don't realise they are pregnant until they go in to labour - there is a thread on MN about it - it happens a lot more often than you would expect. Anyway, their bumps must be practically non-existent, but they have normal, healthy babies (and quite a shock!)

MrsPear · 19/07/2012 19:41

Good evening

pixie don't panic; you really could have just ovulated late. I am the opposite with this one - my date from the scan suggests i ovulated at day 8 which even confused the doctor. I know i am right about dates of actual af as after the last mc it went insync with the child benefit!

confused congrats on the scan!

Jaffa congrats on 24 weeks and really don't panic about a tape measure - it really is a dark ages method. At this stage the baby can still hide at the back plus what about all those woman who get to full term not knowing still wearing size 6 jeans?!

Pear household news: saw the consultant and we will be having the stitch as my lovely GP put it if it goes wrong and we do nothing we will torture ourselves with what if? whereas if we try the stitch and it goes wrong we can tell ourselves we tried our best; and as my dad always says you can only do your best. They will ring with a date - it will case of drop everything and your in tomorrow. I will be in the labour ward- talk about fill you with confidence! I am 16 + 4. On a happier note the consultant doesn't do dopplers so i had a scan instead so he could check heartbeat plus a "general overview" (his words) . All was well and he managed to check the top of the cervix (no idea he could) and everything was as it should be. DS was very funny- he looked at the scan machine and pointed "baby" then followed the lead to mummy's tummy and was Confused then the doctor switched on the sound so we heard the heartbeat and he giggled Grin DH had an emergency at work so missed out which was a pity.

Hope everyone else is OK and good luck to the 2wwers.

oo00PIXIE00oo · 19/07/2012 20:59

Just a flying visit ladies I don't want to drop the iPad in the bath lol thank you all for you help words and support - you all are really great you know that?!?!

confused excellent news I am chuffed to bits for you x

Polka2 · 19/07/2012 21:14

confused brilliant news in the scan!

jaffa your only human to feel scared but you must listen to these clever ladies, a tape measure is archaic. Hugs Wink

AFM; just had reflexology session, apparently my hormones are all over the place and uterus too tight (! Blush) all sorted now so with the help of fifty shades freed we'll be dtd in super sonic fashion!!Wink

gothinrecovery · 19/07/2012 22:37

Jaffa just wanted to send hugs.

woody17 · 20/07/2012 09:31

Hi everyone

Please can I join? I've only just had a mc but I am missing being part of a thread and having a place to chat to people and ask questions that you can't ask in RL. I was pretty relaxed about getting pg before mc - felt like it would happen when the time was right, but now I feel absolutely desperate to get pg again. I'm not sure if this is just the hormones? Finding it hard to have been pg one day and having all the hopes and dreams that go along with that and then suddenly it's all over. We were lucky to see the baby and heartbeat just two days before things really started to go wrong. I was about 9 weeks pg.

So, am trying to be relaxed about ttc but not really feeling relaxed at all. Have read that some people get pg before af returns but not sure if I'm ready for this or if I'm just being stupid even thinking about it.

wifey6 · 20/07/2012 10:53

woody17....so very sorry for your loss Sad
This thread has such wonderful, supportive ladies..& like you we know how this awful experience feels. You are not alone here. I too saw my baby's little heartbeat 6 weeks before we were told we had suffered a MMC. I hold on to that image. Sad
I think it's natural to want to be pregnant again...I have only just started ttc & we are 12+ weeks on since our MMC...but each person is different. You have to do what feels right for you...no one can tell you what's right/wrong in these situations.
Hand holding always available Sad

Polka2 · 20/07/2012 11:39

woody so very sorry for your loss, everyone's great on here full of advice and sympathy when metalling. Big hugs Sad
