if it's a shit plan it can be blamed on post hen do hangover!

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 13:28

How was the hen do, wishful? And how bad is the hangover?!

I have cramping, with occasional waves of nausea and intermittently itchy nipples this afternoon...good job H2B is out and doesn't have to suffer my whinging! My body appears to be fighting against me today. :-/

DulcetMoans · 15/07/2012 13:33

I'd join it wishful! My ultimate hope is to get a BFP in the next 3 mnths in an ideal world but I would defo want to see it in 2012. Please?!

fatasbutter · 15/07/2012 13:34

I'll join too! x Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 15/07/2012 13:43

It's not a shit plan at all. It is a fact that a perfectly fertile couple has only has a 20% (I think that's the right figure) chance of conceiving a healthy pregnancy each cycle.

Maybe looking at this as a long term project is a better way rather than a one off thing.

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 13:45

Yeah, I think it's a really good idea.

Get it going, wishful! :-)

nigglepiggle · 15/07/2012 14:13

Hi ladies can I join please? My month started on the 1st too so should be ovulating today (I hope) and have dtd lots in the last fortnight. This is only our first month of really trying and I tend to get quite obsessed by ttc (this would be #3), I fully expect to be here for a few months. I would be testing on 28th ish but always test 2-3 days early Wink

Well done to all the BFPs and good luck to those waiting to test or still trying.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1518352-BFP-in-2012-a-thread-for-winkling-advice-and-COD-avoidance

Ooooh... My first thread!!

what shall we do? Shall we stay here until the end of July or have a gradual handover starting from now?

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 14:48

Probably use both for now, I'd think...or see what happens! I'm not much use, am I?! :-)

nigglepiggle · 15/07/2012 14:56

Something I said? Grin I might come over with you!

winkle2 · 15/07/2012 16:49

Hey all,

Thanks for kind words but I feel rubbish and upset about having to go to the docs. wishful - your comment about being a step closer to having a baby is a good way to see it but I'm scared :( I'm scared they're going to tell me something is wrong with me. It's a really scary step I never thought I'd take.

I think the pregnant in 2012 thread is a good idea. That's the time limit I've given myself. If I'm not announcing I'm pregnant in 2012 I'm going to be seriously worried.

Whenshewasbad - as long as AF isn't here there's still hope?

Welcome nigglepiggle :)

redstrawberry · 15/07/2012 16:53

Oh sorry about the bfn winkle you are right to go see the doctor. After a year of ttc I think you deserve the BFP so much more :( big hug x

whenshewas not sure what to say :( its so frustrating when something you want so bad keeps playing with your emotions every month this way.

I'm not feeling so positive this month and I'm trying hard not to think about BFP mentally preparing myself for bfn,but even the thought is so upsetting. wishful sounds like a good idea and def would welcome the COD in the new thread if I end up with a bfn.

I can't feel any symptoms as usual 7dpo and CD20 today.

Winkle and whenshewas Sad
Please don't feel bad about going the doctors though winkle, honistly it's not a sign you've definatly got problems but if you got to a point where after say 18 months you wanted to investigate it then you would be at square one waiting months again, this way it's just a fall back incase, like I've bored you with I got my bfp at the tests for fertility after trying for 18 months and the doctor said it had happened quite a few times, it seemed to take the pressure off
Red- knicker watch, well cm has definatly dried up now so maybe the EWCM a week after opk was ov! In which case I've still got atleast 10 days Sad ahhhh man!

winkle2 · 15/07/2012 17:13

I know it's the right thing to do I'm just scared that's all.

Will be making an appt tomorrow for Tuesday hopefully.

winkle2 · 15/07/2012 17:13

Also I said to hub today it's been 24 days since I got my peak on monitor so a 24-day luteul phase?! That's as long as some people's cycles!

redstrawberry · 15/07/2012 17:22

Did you get a positive on the ok this month kitty? And then ewcm too?
My cm has dried up too. Had no ewcm.

Also normally by cd 17/18 I get very sore boobs but this cycle on cd20 and still no sore boobs... At least something in my body is different this month!

winkle that's a long lp. You could see the doc trip as something that will providyou with some answers. I want to tell you a positive story, a friend of mine had been ttc for 2 years and then decided to see the docs. She had a blockage in her Fallopian tubes which took a proceedure to clear. She got pregnant the next month.

tedmundo · 15/07/2012 17:38

winkle .. Just wanted to pop on to give you a big, squeezy hug. You are doing the right thing going to the drs.

I wanted to share a good story a bit like red's ..

I have met people from school, college, uni, work, and in all those groups I have made friends / acquaintances with, only ONE couple were never successful with a pregnancy, and they went on to adopt 3 stunning children.

But everyone else, through natural or assisted means, had babies. Some had several children in fact!

Keep the faith, it WILL happen.

Chimpette · 15/07/2012 17:46

whenshewas - teensy bit more blood this afternoon, and still cramping. Sorry things are shit for you at the moment!

wishful - good idea about the new thread; see you there.

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 17:49

Chimp...I'm cramping like the arrival of AF today (and I only cramp when AF appears, not before) and feel exhausted. I also have low back ache.

We are almost at the same stage of our cycle. Are your symptoms very different to your usual cycle?

winkle2 · 15/07/2012 17:55

Thanks all.

I'm just annoyed that I have to go through this and I see other people having kids so easily. I'm sorry to be down and negative on the thread. Perhaps I should go into the cave and come back when I'm feeling more positive!

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 17:58

Don't feel like you have to go...we're here to support each other. And if you need to vent, sometimes it's easier here than in RL, so go for it, especially if it helps to air what's in your head.

winkle2 · 15/07/2012 18:34

Thanks Nicola x

kittykatsforever · 15/07/2012 19:36

I agree with Nic, we dont mind it, one thing I will say though is although alot of people do seem to fall pregnant at the drop of a hat, I think you'd be surprised how many people it took a long time, had had miscarriages that don't say anything then if you see them in the end pg or with kids it's looks like its been easy, I know I never told everyone how long it took us to conceive first time and only about 5 people in RL know I've had a mc, it will happen and when you have a big bump we will all be looking at you enviously going why is it so easy for some people Smile
Red- I had a +ive opk cd15, which is earlier then I used to but pregnancy may have changed things and I was using epo but kept having alot of cm although not EWCM then randomly I had that for one day on cd22! So not sure when or if I've ovd

NicolaHazel · 15/07/2012 19:42

That is true, kitty...very few of us tell (m)any people we are TTC, not in any detail, anyway.

Which is why this place is so helpful, especially as everyone is in a similar position.

But please stay here rather than hiding in the CoD.

SunshineOutdoors · 15/07/2012 19:54

Hi, sorry I've not been on for a while, got a bit depressed with my July bfn but I have come back to see how you are.

I'm sorry your cycle's fucked up winkle, think a doctor trip will help you to know where you are. How definitely accurate is the monitor? Is there a chance you've ovulated later than you think?

whenshewas I was lurking a bit yesterday and felt excited for you... I nearly mentioned something in the August thread but glad I didn't now. I'm so sorry if things haven't worked out Sad

I will try and straddle both threads for a while. I seem to be on a 6 week cycle so it's ages until I ov, can't seem to get very excited about it this cycle like I did last time, but at least that might mean the disappointment might not be so crushing.
