Welcome to the 2.30 from Mumsnet Towers. The fillies have been groomed to within an inch of their lives and are raring to go.

Late entries for the race are required to locate and fill in the BESHtionnaire so that their form can be assessed.

Bring on the stallions!

Blimey they're all coming out of the woodwork now if only for one-upmanship
y viva Espana Boo!

FriendofDorothy · 18/07/2012 13:23

No Ariel this is number 1....

Ok, here's my bio...

I am FriendofDorothy. Here under sufference as I am diffed. Took 20 cycles and one HSG and a few Clomid tablets to manage it, but I feel like I am one of the lucky ones. Apart from 3 weeks of bleeding early in the pregnancy I feel ok. No puking for me, just eating cake. The Mister is my lovely husband who is mega tolerant and we currently live with my parents on a rock in the middle of the English Channel. We are trying to buy a house. It's going badly, very badly!

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 18/07/2012 13:24

If we're talking one upmanship, ok go ahead. Who's the most barren BESH?

My name is Ariel. I used to be called Aries. I used to come in here a lot, then freaked out as I realised how long it was taking and ran off in a sulk . Two and a half years in and no baybee. No discernable reason for that so far. I will be those women who is allergic to their man's sperm, you mark my words.

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:26

Loving the bios. Allergy to sperm is fixable isn't it??? Easily fixable in fact (I thought?)

Rock in the English Channel sounds bloody brilliant!

I feel like a fraud with my measly year. :(

HaveALittleFaith · 18/07/2012 13:27

X posts cavey.
Ok, I'm known as faith (amongst many other names). Started TTC December 2009 - had been on pill to that point so no period of lapse contraception. I see it as such: one year futile sesching, one year of routine investigations. Main ishoo found to be swimmers going in circles due to a pituitary growth in OH - aka Mr Squidgy Baybee (MSB). Last six months waiting for that to come back to normal post treatment while I get ill. Next 6 months - project BMI baybee - me to lose even weight to get BMI under 30, see if that works for natural conception or get on IVF waiting list.

That is good news cavey! Will it mean less trips to lands afar?

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:29

FriendofDorothy - how long have you been diffed for and CONGRATS by the way. Grin

I am happy here. Not filled with chippy people falling pregnant every month (not that I hope we don't fall pregnant every month but there you go).

I worked out that I may be able to start TTC again at the end of August. That's next month. It's very fucking close! dances (With vodka)

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:30

faith

My BMI is about 27 or 28 so I need to lose a bit extra as well Blush

HaveALittleFaith · 18/07/2012 13:31

X posts kicster I wouldn't haven't invited you unless I thought you were ESH material! You are clearly bitter and twisted Wink with a wicked sense of humour. Plus you have not had an easy ride!
Some have not been so long.... alwyn is early days is she not?

FriendofDorothy · 18/07/2012 13:32

I am 18 weeks pregnant. BMI of 36 (to nicely match my age!) before I got diffed.

HaveALittleFaith · 18/07/2012 13:34

kick I need to lose at least a stone from when they weighed me Confused ideally by September 6th so they don't warn me about being obese and the risk of a general anaesthetic. I am not 'dieting', I am eating more protein, less carbs, snacking on fruit and veg (actually I just had an Aldi style activia which was yummy with black forest fruits!) and walking r

HaveALittleFaith · 18/07/2012 13:35

*round my village each evening since I can't gym/run due to chronic pain (hopefully to be cured by op!)

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:35

I am a bloody pretzel I am so bitter and twisted. But I hid that other thread (how growed up of me!!) so that I don't keep being wound up by them fuckingmumblemumblemumbles.

alwyn!! Don't I know you from one of my other threads???

I think I fit here. I like non-bullshit, non-holding hands and singing ring-a-ring-a-rosey, back patting, emotional dependent stuff. I like the straight forward stuff.

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:37

I need to lose about a stone as well. I am going to set myself my 5kms 5 x a week run to see if I can get it down by the same date as you so that we can TTC.

Fancy being weight loss buddies?

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:37

AND just to confirm - I am not planning on TTC with you. The "we" is that sudden mental leap from being "I" to "we will never be single again"

sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/07/2012 13:46

Ooh, intros.

I'm sinky/Hils/anything really, I'm a bit needy that way

Ttc from 2009 ish (less than careful the missing weeks of pills/ not restarting etc). Managed to have no periods over 12months and won myself a diagnosis of anovulatory pcos.

Since then have had 3 lots of clomid, the lap and ov drilling, then 5 more months of clomid (the sweats, the nightmares, the insommnia- joy). Have now been transferred to my local ivf centre for more investigations. Well, I say that, but currently, 5 months after being refered have filled in a form with my height and weight and given them the requested passport photo...

Am a touch frustrated and ratty at the mo. you may have noticed.

HaveALittleFaith · 18/07/2012 13:47

Grin yes weight loss buddies will be great! Is 5 x 5k runs a week sustainable?! I didn't read it like that til the additional comment..,

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:49

sinky - ouch and bugger. You're the first real person who has actually been diagnosed as anovulatory. It's a word no one seems to understand but blames every month they don't fall pregnant.

KickTheGuru · 18/07/2012 13:51

Faith - it is for me, yeh. It just needs dedication. I am typically a triathlete (with some rolls) so my issue is that I am (quite) fit but a little overweight with it. I tend to lose fat and put on muscle so I doubt I will ever be a skinny twiggy type.

Before my diabetes diagnosis, I did a 12km run and a 60km cycle and the day I started vomiting with ketoacidosis I had swum 1km. The fitness side isn't my problem. It's now getting back into it and getting that dedication again.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 18/07/2012 13:54

OMG Fred's on fire, with lots of visitors I only know from when I was a lurker.

Hello and welcome guru. I like your bitterness, as I said when I saw faif invited you a few days ago.

Brief bio: lemon 33 married to SB (skinny bint) TTC for just over 2 yrs, 3x failed IUIs, and a lap&dye (which true to form showed my bits are perfectly normal) last week, so officially unexplained. Some more IUIs when I have recovered completely, which is nearly nearly, sans stitches today :)

Btw project BMI might kick in here too, I investigated gyms today. One of the more traumatic experiences for the lap was seeing my weight - BMI of 26.7 when I told myself I was still okay. A few more days and I can exercise again. But cycling and running simply does not appeal in the current rainy conditions...

PS guru with early differs we sometimes hold hands, but it is not the done things. There is more nekkid dancing than holding things besides gin.

CaveMum · 18/07/2012 14:11

Faith, he will still have visits overseas to do but they'll be to civilised places rather than dusty ones Wink

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 18/07/2012 14:17

Anovulatory? I think I got that distinction because I just don't have periods, at all. No point in doing things half measures eh?

Oh, and I'm 31, GHJ is the ginger hairy jock.

Am v impressed with gurus fitness. Am currently exhausted to the extent I'm having to drive to work rather than cycle. I think it might be a sign of diffedness (pre ovulation. Don't tell me it can't happen)

eurochick · 18/07/2012 17:06

Afternoon all.

Brief intro from me: euro, 36, married to KFZK (kung fu zombie killer, after past and present hobbies), TTC for 20 cycles plus a long period of a casual approach to contraception before that. As well as trying the more traditional way, we have 3x Letrozole and 2xIUI cycles behind us, and 6 cycles with Prednisolone treatment for NK cells. Had a meltdown on my first IVF cycle last month (me and hormonal drugs are not happy bedfellows) and stopped it after downregging. Am now waiting for my body to wake up after being thrown into menopause. To complicate matters, I got my first ever abnormal smear result during my IVF cycle so I am currently seeing a whole new set of foof drs to deal with that. I am looking forward to at some point having two weeks together when the only person sticking things up my ladybits is my husband.

alwyn · 18/07/2012 17:09

Yep, I'm from elsewhere on MN. I am almost brand new in TTC - so much so we have had to stop because work are being fuckers. I will probably be moving jobs by January and CGH (computer geek husband) is too bloody sensible to just say "fuck it, let's have a baby".

Damn him.

I'm looking forward to the summer holidays because I might actually have the TIME to exercise.
