Hi girls, sneaking a look in
Whenshewas your post made me laugh, our dd was conceived the month I said sod it and drunk copious amounts, proceded by more the following month, somehow she clung on, as for dtd 5 days before, have you been tempted following that to try earlier now each month?
I use the opk as dh works shifts but couldn't handle the eod approach for more then one month, I know I shouldn't admit it but I was so sick of it by the ov day! The relaxed approach is definatly the way to go.... Which is ofcourse why I'm now completely obsessed!

lollypopsicle · 14/06/2012 22:05

Just written a mammoth post that mumsnet just lost grrrr.
Here's the short version:

I joined this thread then decided to take a few days break from MN as it was becoming a bit of an obsession! So have just caught up with the thread chat.

re drinking- I usually drink a few galsses of wine and a few beers a week. I'm going tee-total for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference.

I read 'taking charge of your fertility' this week and I found it quite useful. Much clearer about how to maximize our chances. Feel more confident about recognizing and capitalizing on my fertile signs- esp the whole CM thing and how it fits in with charting etc. While it's little americanized, its still worth reading!

Finally, reading how so many of you have had MC, it makes me realise how common it is. I have never experienced it myself but worried about MC throughout the whole of my pregnancy with DS. Here's to sticky healthy beans for you all!

winkle2 · 14/06/2012 22:56

Remember girls u should only take epo up to OV as it can cause tiny contractions in the uterus which can lead to a miscarriage.

I'm taking it up until I get a peak on my CBFM.

Tedmundo it's yours after I get my BFP :D

Kitty I get bored of dtd by the time OV comes around too!

Nope- I can't be bothered and I've only done it twice this month! I guess I'm just doing eod to maximise chances. Without using ov sticks doing anything else is fairly haphazard isn't it? Does anyone else not use ov sticks but just Dtd around the 14th? X

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 08:44

I am out completely for the next few months.

Landed in hospital on Monday morning with blood glucose of 36 and a Type 1 diabetes diagnosis.

Have to wait for my bloods to calm down before I try to conceive.

That said, I now have step by step care when I want to get pregnant and the reason it's taken so long is because I have diabetes...

winkle2 · 15/06/2012 08:47

Oh kick! Good to see you and glad you have your answer. Take care of yourself :)

I will winkle. Totally going to hover and watch for your BFP though. I have a good feeling for you :)

My AF is around the corner. Sore boobage. At least it didn't arrive when it should have - when I was holed up in critical care using a comode...

Hi all.

Kick - glad they got to the bottom of things and at least you'll get the treatment you need to be in fighting TTC mode soon.

HHHBum - think we're on the same trajectory! Saw you on the m/c thread with Ted but think you might also have been on the Due in Oct thread. Those were the days, eh? Sigh again.

CD 3 for me but itching (not literally) to get going. The sight of little ones yesterday brought on the waterworks which is not a Good Thing.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 15/06/2012 09:41

kick thats such a shame. Hope you get on top of managing your diabetes soon and you can start ttc again.

resipsa sorry you had a waterworks moment. I had them occasionally when ttc no1, I came to conclusion it was best just to let it happen was better than pretending I was not upset.
Hope you feel better once you can start SWI

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 10:00

Hopefully I can fall pregnant first month in then when we eventually do try again. Sure it won't be long :)

HeeHeeHeeBum · 15/06/2012 10:02

Morning! Managed dtd no1 now so on track for this cycle. No idea when I will ov but I'm going to buy some vit b6 and EPO today.
to resipsa. I remember you from both threads and hear you about the waterworks moments. There was a birth announcement at work this week which made me a bit teary. Hope to see you (and everyone else) on a due in March thread very soon. I miss the October thread.
kick Hope your diabetes gets under control soon.
Have a great day all and sorry for not talking to everyone, I will be up to speed on the thread soon.

kittykatsforever · 15/06/2012 10:08

Hi kick, sorry to hear about your diagnosis, it did sound like diabetes from your symptons and atleast you can start to combat it now, a friend of mine had tried for 9 yrs to concieve, had pcos later diagnosed with diabetes aswell and the meds they prescribe can apparently help with fertility, they had long ago given up and adopted but low and behold a few months after meds she discovered she was 17 wks pg!! I hope you get the good luck you deserve, sounds like you've had a long road!

Lisa I did the same with timings until I found I was also a later ov, day 17-19 in a 28 day cycle!
Only dtd 5 times this cycle (left it for 2 wks after mc) but it feels like we've done it loads! When I counted it up though that's probably just a average sex life lol poor hubbie got a ban when I was pg with dd so he's making the most of it while he can ;)

LittleMissSnowShine · 15/06/2012 10:20

Kick - Sorry to hear about the diabetes :( Same thing with my dad, took him and my mum a long(ish) while to have me and my sis since diabetes can make swimmers less...swimmy! But we're both here and I have every confidence and faith that you'll get your BFP soon, and that you'll get all the meds and treatment you need to get the diabetes under control xx

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 10:25

LittleMiss - howdy! Yes it seems ok. Plus I just get to be completely led by the hospital. They did ask if I wanted to do the research though - 30 and type 1 onset is apparently not overly common.

But if I do the research, we can't have a baby for a year.

As much as I would like to figure out why my body started to attack itself, we would rather have a baby

winkle2 · 15/06/2012 10:31

thanks kick for thinking of me :)

aw resipsa I get teary sometimes and I think 'why isnt it me?'. So completely understand.

CD7 here and used my monitor this morning. Told me I was low fertility so no need to DTD just yet!

OP posts:
LittleMissSnowShine · 15/06/2012 10:38

Kick - Yeah, I can completely understand that. Baby first, research later Wink I'm adding you (and you too winkle and ted!) to my Mumsnet mates list so I'll be able to see when you ladies get your BFPs and I can be first to offer u my congrats Grin

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 10:39

There is a mates list?!!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 15/06/2012 10:45

Yeah, go here www.mumsnet.com/member/Page and you can add people to your mates list!

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 11:00

Added you too...

Will add people as I see Grin

tedmundo · 15/06/2012 11:35

Cor thanks littlemiss. I will go and check out that now. Never heard of that before. how are you feeling at the mo?

Kick .. The extreme thirst was the red flag for me (same as my grandpa) so it did sound like diabetes. So glad you now know what is going on and can get well and then get cracking on TTc.

Lisa .. No swinging from the rafters in Chez Tedmundo. The opks are saving my sanity this month!!

Resipsa .. "itching"

Kittykat .. My DH is also really wanting a Bfp but is also aware the sexy time will be halted for a good while. At least til I see a heartbeat! I know there is no clear evidence that sex and mc are related, but frankly I can't take a chance!

Winkle .. That Bfp is heading your way, I can feel it is my waters! And if I get one too, sell the gadget and treat yourself to some foxy Isabella Oliver maternity wear. YUM!

On a more mundane note. I have Fri mornings off while DCs are farmed elsewhere. Usual routine is to settle down about now with a cupola to watch last nights Big Bang Theory. But it wasn't on. Gutted! Sheldon is my secret crush, now shared with all of you!

KickTheGuru · 15/06/2012 12:15

I begged my GP for well over a month to do tests. Plus even the Boots pharmacist just gave me synthetic saliva (I stopped being able to produce my own spit!) and said I was "too old".

Harrumphf

kittykatsforever · 15/06/2012 12:30

That's it exactly tedmundo, I dtd when pg with dd and didn't know and it was really painful - didnt know why but aparently cervix goes lower and was really unpleasurable, I had slight spotting with dd and the first thing epu asked was had I had dtd as it can dislodge blood, frankly I don't need to see any blood again in pregnancy so my legs are well and truley closed, after you've seen the baby anyway all I could think was there's a baby in there, not the best afrodisiac!
Kick, you hear far to often of people having medical practitioners poo pooing their symptons, really feel for you but hopefully as your young and fit ( u must be after all those bedroom shinanigans!) you will get it under control in no time :)
