suemays · 17/05/2012 17:45

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

What time's your appointment ari? Do you leave for work after your DH? maybe you can just "throw a sickie" after he's gone? Or leave the house and then call sick saying you've got halfway in and feel terrible and are going to head to Epsom home to bed.

holldoll · 27/09/2012 19:29

Wonderful news Ari but agree I feel your apprehension. Good luck!

duggs1976 · 27/09/2012 19:30

Oh ari tentatively thrilled for you. If the 5/6 cycles really have this effect I have restored hope. I HATE the IVF drugs. Clexane injections hurt like hell - who was asking ?

holldoll · 27/09/2012 19:32

Meant to say although had a chemical I did try evening primrose oil!

Arianrhod · 27/09/2012 21:40

My appt is 10am kittens (couldn't get one later cos I have to pick my DD up from school at 3:30) and that's a great idea except we work at the same company and he's good friends with my boss, so rats would be smelled all over the place. Plus I really don't want to actually lie to him, if you see what I mean. I'll think of something :)

Oh bugger duggs, it was me asking about the Clexane as I'm going to be needing it every day until I believe at least 22 weeks, should I ever get that far. I'm very bad with needles, they almost always hurt :( Something else I'm going to have to figure out. I read on FF that apparently they've changed the syringes clexane comes in and the needles are bigger/blunter (spring loaded now, I understand?). Someone was asking if it could be transferred into another syringe with a smaller needle, think I may have to look into that. Is it into the belly?

Good luck to everyone, I think we could all do with some!

duggs1976 · 27/09/2012 21:52

Yes in the belly - hopefully you will get a 40mg one and do once a day not 2 20mg ones. Out of all the IVF drugs that is worst I hate to say it. But yes it seems pretty standard as apparently it has immunological benefits too so don't know why dr a is so anti it!! Best of luck I hope u need them. They work out about £3-4 per shot is ok but adds up over the weeks ! ( well in theory)

duggs1976 · 27/09/2012 21:52

Meant why dr s is so anti? iPhone error

Havingkittens · 27/09/2012 22:53

Ah, that's tricky ari! We may or may not run into each other at NLC then. Unless your appointment runs late you will probably be done just before I'm due to turn up.

lemonsherbet · 28/09/2012 08:43

ari do you mind asking who is giving you the clexane and why? whenever I mention it to Mr S (am mthfr homozygous) he says I do not need it.

I will whisper congratulations to you.

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 09:09

lemon I specifically asked Louise if she would ask Mr S to prescribe it, even knowing that he doesn't believe it's necessary. I've raised it with him before, and Louise confirmed again that he doesn't believe it helps. However, she did say that she thought he would say that if I honestly wanted to try it then he wouldn't object - peace of mind for me, as it were. Although not peace of mind for me that I'm going to have to inject something that hurts every day, I'm bricking that - but determined if I get my stronger line that bugger it, I've come this far, what's more pain, right? :)

Ah, that's a pain kittens, I would like to have bumped into you. Another time, hopefully!

duggs When is your OTD??

Chasinrainbows · 28/09/2012 11:24

Hi all hope you are well. Glad to hear the good news on the scans kittens and jaffa .

Great news on the bfp Ari I am joining you this week. Bfn on day 10 of pred then bfp 3 days later. Took a digi expecting a not pregnant and shocked when it came up 1-2 weeks. Hoping it sticks , this was my 2nd SO cycle. Still not expecting much .... But it's the first time I've been pregnant under treatment . My 3 mc's were pre Dr S.

Waves and good luck to everyone else this month.

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 11:34

Oh wow, cautious congrats rainbows .. so your digi worked at, what, 13dpo? That's really good, I believe the sensitivity of those digis are 25mIU (whereas FRERs are I think 15mIU), so your hCG level must be pretty good for it to register on there. I'm not daring the digi ones, they have driven me absolutely batty in the past with worrying over whether it goes up enough week to week. Not touching them!

So are you also booking in for the ever-lovely ILs?

Chasinrainbows · 28/09/2012 11:53

Thanks Ari . I'm with you on the digis .... I have another one there and I'm not gonna use it until .... Well I shouldn't at all but I'm sure if all is ok next week I'll be checking it shifts to 2-3 weeks. Not sure what dpo I was as this is the first time I never used cbfm as dr s said no point. I was scanned early on day 9 ... Hgc shot day 11 and started pred on day 13. I have ovulated from between days 13-16 in the past.

I emailed Cheryl this morning and booked in for first scan at 6+1 on 15th October. I'm on cyclogest, pred & ld aspirin . What's ILs ? They've not mentioned that .

jaffajiffy · 28/09/2012 11:59

Wuhoo, rainbows! BFPs come in twos!

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 12:06

You're braver than I am rainbows ... Louise asked me yesterday if I wanted to book my first scan appt there and then, while I was on the phone to her, and I said NO!, I'll book it nearer the time if this doesn't turn out to be yet another CP! I just can't bring myself to have any faith at all, how sad is that.

ILs are intralipids ... are you an NHS patient of Mr S or private? Seems he prescribes these for private patients I think, but not NHS patients? If I have that right? It's another mechanism for subduing those pesky NK cells.

Chasinrainbows · 28/09/2012 12:24

Ah , I went though Cheryl and said I'd book nearer the time and she said I'd advise you to book now as the appointments fill up quickly. I'm not brave just easily manipulated lol . I'm a private patient and I have aggressive killer cells not high ones. I wonder if that's why ? I'm on 25mg pred.

It's not sad that you have no faith , I feel the same . I felt like a fraud booking the scan. I won't be booking train tickets yet that's for sure.

Thanks jaffa :)

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 12:31

Ok, I'll compromise then. If my line is dark enough on Monday that I then keep my IL appt, then I'll book my scan that day. With huge trepidation that I'm somehow jinxing things!

Problem with early scans for me is, my last 'proper' pregnancy the baby died at 8+6 (I had a private 'reassurance' scan at 9+4 the day before I was due to go on holiday), so even if an early scan is good (which I can't imagine right now) it won't reassure me in any way at all.

Ladies, collective wisdom please - what's the latest early scan you've had? Does it have to be 6ish weeks, or is 7 weeks allowable? Not that I'm thinking I'll get that far right now (I don't mean to be the voice of gloom but sheer experience is shouting down any ray of hope that might dare to raise its head), but it would be good to have it later rather than sooner, if you see what I mean.

Havingkittens · 28/09/2012 12:43

Congratulations rainbows. BFPs do indeed seem to come in twos here! Regarding Intralipids, they are generally only prescribed for V High NK Cells, so that's probably why you've not been told about them.

From almost all posts I've read about Clearblue Digi tests I'd advise stopping after the first one. They only seem to cause unnecessary hysteria! Remember jaffa did a second one which either hadn't moved or went down by a week? So many people have had inaccurate estimations of gestation on those things. I think they are good for establishing whether that feint line is worth trusting or not and then don't go back there!

ari, I think I had my first scan at 6+4. Cheryl normally says between 6-7 weeks so I guess you could try and push it closer to 7 weeks. I didn't want to have mine too early in case it was too early to see a heartbeat and then I'd have to wait 2 weeks with my heart in my mouth which I've done too many times for my liking already.

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 12:55

Do you know what, I don't even want to work out when 6+4 will be for me! I really am a bit head-in-the-sand this time.

Arianrhod · 28/09/2012 15:34

abney I just wondered how things are with you?

Mel3062 · 28/09/2012 17:42

Oh my god rainbows congrats!!!x my mums had a second stroke do need to rush and are her in coventry tomorrow what with that and the rabbit and daughter 18 Sunday and all this superovulation I can't take much more :( x

duggs1976 · 28/09/2012 18:35

Wow congratulations! Would someone from the pregnant group Envymind doing a chart of the super ovulator gang writing next which cycle you got pregnant after previous pregnancy and which SO cycle it was ?? It would be REALLY helpful to us ttc bunch to give us a bit of inspiration perhaps ??
So for example -

Kittens - bfp cycle 14 - SO cycle 5 - 12+2

No idea if that is correct just guessed but that is what I mean and get a list going before you guys move off onto pred thread only? Grin

duggs1976 · 28/09/2012 18:38

GOD just realised ari and rainbows bloody hell - quick get that list up- I want to see SO cycle number and if any top tips etc there is def some action on this site right now.

duggs1976 · 28/09/2012 18:40
