Hi All. DH away for a couple of nights (works away 2 days a week so this is a regular feature) but seemed all on for baby making this month and not waiting any longer so adding my self to the list! Hope DH has shifted his cold and feeles more like some bedroom activity when he gets back! Testing date a bit flexible as cycle varies a bit (still breast feeding DS1, and never been totally reliable), and of course depending on how long I can hang on. I'm not one for early testing and will aim to wait at lesat a couple of days after AF due. Not intending to do anything other than lots of sex in order to get prego - taking a relaxed approach, at least for now Wink

Just wanted to add myself on the list. Not sure when ovulation will actually take place but have had I guess so I don't feel left out Grin.

How old is your ds Flowery? Stopped bf mine at 13 months, she is 15 months now and have only just got my period back. You are really lucky being able to ovulate and bf at same time.

Could any of you ladies help me out with some info? This is my first period since giving birth and it is somewhat unpleasant I think the af fairy is trying to kill me

Really heavy, bad cramps, emotional, beyond exhausted (and weirdly excess saliva). It is reminding me of being 9 wks pregnant, which I definitely am not.

Does anyone have any experience? Is this normal?

WhenSheWasBad... DS is almost 21 months (got a bit of a shock how old he is when I just counted that!) and periods came back at about 10 months I think. He's recently droped his feed on waking so we're down to just a feed befre bed now.

I always had truely hidious period pains and they are worse rather than better post baby for me so can sympathise. Pre baby they were awful for the first 24 hours, then mostly OK, or at least managable with standard pain killers. Now they are bad for 2 -3 days, but are slightly shorter (5-6 days instead of 7). Perhaps my body is more efficient at getting rid of everything now it's done labour and birth (though it was bloody rubish at pushing DS out quite frankly) and thats why it hurts more, is heavier, but doesn't take quite so long to go away! No ideas or experiece on the saliva front I'm afraid. I get spotty now too which I didn't pre baby. All in all Iperiods suck and I'd rather be pregnant! Grin

Whenshewasbad - I mean dtd as in shagging!! What days do you recommend having sex if I usually get a smiley on cd16? Unsure as to when to start and finish as usually do SMEP plan.

Ditching the opks this month.

hi winkle - from charting mine over the year OV happens between cd14 - cd16 and we are trying to dtd every other day. so far dtd on cd9,10,12 and tonight on cd14.

Hi winkle. I ov around day 16 too. I plan to go for 8 10 12 14 15 and 16 to cover all bases.

I am also gripped by AF hell right now. It is heavy and painful. A bit too much like that bloody miscarriage for my liking. bringing back bad memories :(

BUT it is cd2 which means I am 27 days away from finding out if I am pregnant!

And scoffing cheese and supping wine while I wait to get there!

I think I might be ovulating now. I never get any OV symptoms (no abdominal pain or sore boobs) so the only way for me monitor it without OPKs is CM.

TMI alert Blush - Got EWCM just now, but how stretchy does this need to be? Mine's stretching to 2cm - less than an inch?! Does that mean I have ovulated?

Eeeek! Doc wants to see me about the results of my pcos scan? Why do they put the frighteners on like that?! On the plus side im going to ask about my silly long cycle! I read something awful online saying that if you have a cycle over 35 days you don't ovulate and shouldn't even ttc as by the time the egg is released its no good?! I mean who says stuff like that Sad

So frustrating isn't it pinkie, I think we're the same age, same long irregular cycles, and been trying same length of time. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS or was this scan to find out if you have it? When I went for acupuncture last night she said she was going to focus on encouraging AF as I'm on day 31 with no BFP, I did say "what if I release the egg late though" and she also said that the egg would be weak if it's released that late. Not sure though as some people do release an egg late in their cycle and have a healthy baby I think. She did say the main point is that I'm unlikely to ovulate this month so better to try and focus on regulating cycles. My doc wanted to discuss my PCOS results scan too by the way, think that's standard, try not to worry. How did you know they won't refer you unless you've been trying for a year - I'm hoping to get referred sooner as I'm not ovulating and because of the PCOS? Mainly because I'm not 100% sure I'm not ovulating and want to confirm that asap.

The doc said they like to give ppl a year of trying before intervening. With the pcos I'd suspected for a while as had pretty much all symptoms apart from overweight and excess hair. It looks like alls clear on that side. She said the ovaries are fine womb looks normal shape and lining normal thickness and that lots of ppl have fibroids without ever knowing. It's on the left wall of the uterus so to me that could surely prevent an egg implanting itself?? I worry I don't ov either as my cycle is so long, I've had 2 positive ov sticks since we started trying but this doesn't confirm ov just the lh surge, temping now so hopefully will see something positive. I'm the same I'd like to know if something's wrong and if we can fix it rather than try for years and get nowhere.

I basically lied a little about how long we'd been trying so said come back in September if I'm not pg, i have a new niece too and actually find it very emo to hold her at the minute, just finding it all very frustrating Sad in my line of work I see many people who regard children as a pay cheque popping out their 8th or 9th no problem only for the tax payer to have to support!! Annoying when your good hard working people who want to have kids for the right reason and will support them like a parent should!

pinkie my cycles are really long. Sometimes 50 days! I have 2 beautiful boys who I conceived without a hitch and very quickly so my eggs were good and strong despite late ovulation. I have only had one chemical pregnancy/ v early miscarriageand that was last month. It is taking forever to conceive this time (17months so far) but so far it is unexplained as everything seems normal. I would suggest just dtd everyday is what worked for us with my 1st and 2nd pregnancies. Not so easy to manage that this time though!

Think I'm going to go for EOD starting CD10 and finishing CD22/24? Only because this month I had that 35 day cycle so my app puts my at OV CD22 ? waaay after I'd finished shagging for the month!

That's great news about your boys and gives me some hope Smile she did talk about clomoid if nothing's happened by september but I'm going to give the vitex a go this month, I'd love to know how anyone manages sex everyday im exhausted 3 times a week Hmm on top of work and everything else

Arrrrgghhh! Just wrote a really long post and my battery died!

Hi openminded and welcome aboard!

When we conceived ds1 and ds2 we were in our 20s so had a lot more energy to dtd every day! I'm now 32 so getting on a bit! Lol! Also, I've been working 2 or 3 nights every week for the entire time we've been ttc this time so dtd regularly has been a struggle and working nights has affected my health. I've now finished my job to concentrate on ttc so hoping that helps a little.

Just finished hosting a party for ds2. He will be 4 next week. Had a party tonight at home with lots of noisy 4yr old boys! We were due to hold an outside party but rain put a stop to that plan. I'm shattered and going to have a big glass of Wine before heading to bed to get some swi in with Dh!!! He has his work cut out this month if we will be dtd every day!

I've decided to avoid opks and temping this month. Just going for lots of shagging method!

Working long hours & with a long commute i'm struggling with 3times a week!

False call with the OV earlier - it's bloody difficult to suss CM!
