whyalwaysBoris sorry about the appts. Hope you're able to get it sorted soon.

leedy · 15/05/2012 20:20

Yeah, I think my "baseline" BP is at the high end of normal, so it doesn't take much for it to enter "medical professionals start flapping" territory.

boris, I rage on your behalf. Very annoying. And cakey, my first AF after my miscarriage was very heavy. Also featured turbo-charged PMT, for added fun for all the family...

whatcakeydid · 15/05/2012 20:37

Ah hum. Great, I do not want AF or pmt but now you all say it it is obvious that I have been experiencing classic pmt for me. Thanks for replying everyone.
joyful sorry about your disappointing AF. Gutting isn't it?

sassmonkey · 15/05/2012 20:40

Hi everyone,

boris How irritating. Just be irritating back until you get the answer you want. And deserve. :-)

Martha glad my advice was helpful. Joyful-until-otherwise-notified is the best we can all be. Not that I've been following that theory myself! Not sometimes anyway.

I hereby confess to the occasional desperate Public Knicker Check myself. Swiftness and an innocent face is the key. :-)

leedy hope your BP improves its performance to the machines will leave you alone. jaffa I'm so glad you are having a fantastic holiday, after the last few weeks.

So to add to my list of concerns (MC and upcoming genetic screening being at the top), my son has Slapped Cheek disease. Also called Fifths Disease or Parvo Virus (or sommat like that). DS is a little rosy in the face but will be fine. However.... this virus is bad news for prego people. Can cause deformities in the baby. I am trying HARD to resist the urge consult Dr. Google as I'm sure it will just cause further insaniacal metalling. Anyone here know anything about this type of scenario? You'll probably present it better than Dr. G!

pebspop · 15/05/2012 21:03

Sorry sass I don't know about slapped cheek. Maybe someone else will do.

These consultant secretary's need a slap sometimes. Why don't they ring back??

I rang the private hospital. I wanted an appoinment in early June as i am off work but there is no clinic that week due to bank hol so I will just wait for nhs. If it's after the end of June I will just get any private appt I can.

I am chuckling at the knicker checking. I was racking my brains trying to think how you were doing it but I couldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams lol!

The last two years seem to have flown by but I can't believe I am still waiting for a baby. I did have a six month break from pg and ttc in the middle of the two years but still.... I feel like I am the only one waiting for tests etc.

JoyfulJoyful · 15/05/2012 21:03

Sorry Leedy, I guess it's good you're being monitored. I do hope it comes down back to normal or at least what's normal for you.

NoMoreMarbles · 15/05/2012 21:05

evening ladiesSmile

just a quick one to park my arse on this preggo chairWink just to warm my bum and keep the chair toasty for tasGrin

i will check back in tomorrow Smile

JoyfulJoyful · 15/05/2012 21:07

Peb, your time will come. I know it seems like ages, but you will get your baby. You have to believe that, it's the only thing that keeps me trying.

sunshinesue · 15/05/2012 21:07

I'm not too sure about all the risks with slapped cheek sass but I've been tested for it as a precuation as someone my husband works with has come down with it, it's highly unlikely I have it as dh has no symptoms but they were taking my blood anyway so took a bit more to test. I do know that most adults are immune to it already and even if you do get it it probably won't affect your baby. I'd go to the dr and they'll do a blood test to see if you're immune, if you are no problem, if you aren't and you do get it as far as I know they'll monitor your baby closely as a precaution. It can be serious though so def see your dr asap. My midwife told me the best way to avoid catching bugs etc is to wash your hands LOTS so I've got one of those antibac handgels that I had always thought were just for paranoid hypocondriacs

sunshinesue · 15/05/2012 21:16

sorry for the waiting pebs, it sometimes feels like I've been waiting for something or other constantly for the past 18 months too. waiting to ov, 2ww, waiting to ov again, then waiting for 12 weeks when pg, waiting for mc to be over, waiting for first proper cycle afterwards, then back to waiting for ov. It's depressing and it sucks and I'm sorry you've got more waiting ahead. I hope when we get our babies this nonsense will all be forgotten.

Moominsarescary · 15/05/2012 21:19

slapped cheek

Hello everyone had a pita few weeks, hope everyone is well. Will read up on what I've missed later.

Af arrived on Sunday, 3 days early

StateofConfusion · 15/05/2012 21:24

I do it the same way as midge

Blush

--i carry hand gel--

Moominsarescary · 15/05/2012 21:37

sass the link is to the nhs website, most people have immunity but it can cause increased fluid in the baby if you catch it between 9-20 weeks so they hospital would want to keep an eye on you.

sunshinesue · 15/05/2012 21:43

you probably need the hand gel state if that's what you're doing Grin. though I would i could but my trousers are too tight I couldn't do it without looking like a dirty old man. My preferred tactic is walking into a pub and looking like I'm looking for someone before ducking in to the loo to check myself out Grin

StateofConfusion · 15/05/2012 22:03

I don't do it often Blush I tend to just go to every loo I get near, but my worst pregnancy symptom is feeling 'damp' all the time, every other minute I think its blood.

sunshinesue · 15/05/2012 22:11

I get that too, whenever I have actually bled though I don't feel anything. sorry if I sound mean, it wasn't intended Blush

StateofConfusion · 15/05/2012 22:23

No that's fine, honesty is what this thread Is for.

Anyone else get headaches? I'm fed up of them now.

WhyAlwaysBoris · 15/05/2012 22:47

sorry about the AF arrival, Moomin and Joyful

Sorry about the afs arriving :(

state I've been getting constant headaches, it's really wearing after a while.

manda hope your DD is feeling better soon.

ConfusedMumDotCom · 16/05/2012 07:34

Morning all.

I'm sorry for everyone who has got their periods. I brought some cheap pg tests from superdrug yesterday and will check whether there are still any pg hormones left in my system this morning. The spare test in my bathroom was a cb digital and I wasn't going to waste that telling me I wasn't pg! Not sure I'm ready to have it spelt out for me.

Am frustrated with DH, after a promising start, he seems to have gone in a sex strike. Sad I know it's a long shot to get pg so quickly after mc, but I can't help feeling he's holding out on me. It's frustrating as I suppose I just want to put the mc behind me, get pg and get back on track with the future I thought I was having before the mc. But then I'm the type of person who just wants to fix things ASAP. I think he is scared to try again. Any advice?

Have a good day everyone.

StateofConfusion · 16/05/2012 09:14

Glad I'm not alone kirrin its starting to really annoy me, I've got some of those cool n soothe forehead strips but they only soothe it for a short time.

confusedmum I understand how you feel, dp withdrew a bit when the time came so to speak but after an erpc in december I was pregnant again in march, the one month we stopped trying and only dtd twice none of the pregnancy lark makes sense to me.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 16/05/2012 09:27

Gah, you know they tell you that getting a Doppler may cause worry if you then can't find a HB? Yeah this is me this morning.
I'm sure I felt a wiggle or 2 yesterday but no sign on HB on the Doppler this morning even though I've found it last week fine.

Sensible me says obvs he/she has moved so I can't catch it, metalling me is well .... Metalling. Hmm

Plus my skin is really sore, wtf is that about?! I'm tempted just to wallow in bed today, although DP is already getting annoyed at my lack of contact this past day or so. I guess I'm just feeling really down and I'm not sure why Sad

MumTumWanted · 16/05/2012 09:36

Morning ladies
I bit the bullet and explained to my male boss what is happening and why I didn't want to travel from Essex to Birmingham today for a 2 day event. He was so understanding it was such a relief he's told me to work from home if I feel up to it or just relax what ever works for me. So relieved as I couldn't bare the thought of naturally beginning to mc whilst away from home. Problem is Now i have 2 more long days stretching ahead of me before the scan Sad

Symptoms are back with a vengeance... Actually back to vomitting again and boobs to sore to mentionBlush I KNOW my body hasn't realised the bean has stopped growing cos I've not started bleeding or cramping so I KNOW these symptoms are just due to the Hcg in my system but it's so upsetting that I still feel pregnant :( wish I could go in early for the scan but they've already brought it forward a week so they won't make it any earlier Sad

Sorry to all the ladies who got af

Manda has your dd temp broke yet?

Martha how's you today ?

Maybe I can spend the day practicing surreptitious public knicker checking Hmm

Have a good day all xx

MumTumWanted · 16/05/2012 09:39

X posts tits

It's just the preggy hormones causing the sore skin and the mood changes hun so try not to metal over this bit

As for the Doppler they are notorious upto 15 weeks for being difficult to use. Much as you want to wallow get up and about if u want to and get you moving this will cause little one to move then try the doppler later again Smile

TitsalinaBumSquash · 16/05/2012 10:46

Oh mumtum thanks for taking the time to give me advice when I'm just being silly even though you're having such a difficult time.
I'm glad your boss was understanding, can you do anything at all the keep busy round the house until Friday? I know that is much easier said than done.
Thinking of you. X
