Leedy, thanks for popping on here tonight and making me smile with your hideous jam.

Welcome polka.

Midgetm · 05/05/2012 22:18

Now those doughnuts sound ok. Proof that the virus may be on its way out.

JaffaSnaffle · 05/05/2012 22:53

Manda, that link is very hopeful isn't it. Thanks for posting. X

leedy · 06/05/2012 09:48

OH GOD JUICE LOLLY SOUNDS AMAZING RIGHT NOW.

In minor woes news, I have a streaming cold on top of feeling pregnant. It is shite.

StateofConfusion · 06/05/2012 12:10

They're amazing leedy I fear ill end up in debt to del monte haha!

MandaHugNKiss · 06/05/2012 14:15

Oh, the del monte ice lollys are ok (the pineapple ones not so great, though) but I prefer the ones you get in waitrose made from freshly squeezed oj that have little bits in them...

Another crappy night with DS2 waking every - on average - one to one and half hours. He'd go straight back to sleep once he had his 'boo boo' (ie gets my boob in his mouth) but the constant disturbance/waking is killing me! Hopefully it's just one of those things and he'll improve again soon. Else I'll be starting with a newborn from a point of utter exhaustion Confused

TitsalinaBumSquash · 06/05/2012 15:47

Ugh I am still vomming like a champion. Really struggling to eat, everything turns my stomach, nothing looks appealing, I have evil acid reflux as well. Sad

I'm thinking of you Jaffa over this past/next few days.

StateofConfusion · 06/05/2012 16:29

I only like the del monte orange ones as I don't like bits.

MarthasHarbour · 06/05/2012 21:05

Waves to all

Midget i just caught up with your rollercoaster of a few days, thank goodness all is well and you have a lovely bouncing bean. Same goes for you MsCoffee i get all choked up when you give us your weeks - 22 weeks now, how amazing Smile

jaffa i have no idea what i would do in your situation but that is just not important right now. What is important is that whatever you decide, and i mean this, i am here with the other moshers to hold your hand and support you. I have homemade brownies and lots of non-judge'metal' (see what i did there? Wink) shoulders to cry on.

MissCoffeeNWine · 06/05/2012 22:26

Oh I have loads of lollies. Orange juice ones, craved them with mini-toe, stocked up, and yeah, well - can't fancy them now.

Thinking of you Jaffa I really wish I could do something to help, I'm so frustrated for you - it's not fair, at all, and it hurts, I know :( You will get through it, as you've got through it all, and it will be OK in the end, but it's a shite road to walk :( Hang in there.

Sorry you're still vomming tits have the meds worn off a bit? Is there anything you do fancy eating - are you keeping fluids down?

manda sounds tough with your DS. Can your DH help or will only boo boo do? I've heard good things about the Gordon method of night weaning if that's something you want to do but clearly that could be very hard with baby on the way - you're doing amazingly well to function though I take my hat off to you.

midget that jam sounds minging! How are you feeling now?

Thanks martha I don't really know how 22 weeks rolled round either but here we are .... we've been talking names a lot today and have it narrowed down to four possibilities, think she'll end up with two of them as first and middle, but depends what suits.

Midgetm · 06/05/2012 23:18

Evening all,

missc get you and 22 weeks and narrowing down names. I salute you and the coffee bean for your advanced weeks.

martha you put that so well about Doesn't matter what any of us would do, just that we can be virtually there for each other is the most important thing.

tits so sorry the sickness continues. You have my total empathy. Just having this stupid virus has knocked my feet out from under me and at least this is going (or it bloody well better).

This weekend has one day to get better. Spent the afternoon in a&e with DD as she is still vomiting. Poor little thing like Casper the friendly ghost. Hoping tomorrow brings health and happiness to the midget household. It's DH's birthday and me and DD are too toxic to leave the house. Poor sod - some birthday weekend for him!

StateofConfusion · 06/05/2012 23:24

Crazy metalling tonight, ds has the chicken pox! Its like the universe is against me, off to ooh docs tomorrow to get bloods done etc.

Any experience or advice?

JaffaSnaffle · 07/05/2012 00:36

State, if you had chicken pox as a child yourself you are fine. Even if you didn't 'have it', you might have had a mild version of it with no symptoms. I think there is a blood test they can do to check immunity.

MissCoffeeNWine · 07/05/2012 00:42

DD has had pox during this pregnancy state it's one thing I managed not to metal about actually (just metalled about everything else) Have you had it?

I haven't mentioned it to docs or midwives, should I have done. I knew I'd had it as a child I remember it - unfortunately I haven't any parents to ask but I recall the calamine and itching very well! It's been weeks and weeks since now so obviously I haven't had any ill effects from being in the pox house...

TitsalinaBumSquash · 07/05/2012 07:45

I ram out of tablets, the gp won't give me more as they were "just to give me a break" Hmm
I eating and drinking although barely anything. I like the idea of ice lollies though .

Sorry to hear about the pox, neither of the boys have had it yet.
I'm not looking forward to it!

Midgetm · 07/05/2012 08:30

Ok not sure if I should slip into full metal. Mild cramps in the night, wiped, blood bright red, but only on one wipe, back to brown again now. Really low level cramping, bleeding slightly heavier. So do I stalk the Go to see if I have an infection (sample take on Friday via GP out of hours service) take arse back to a&e or just calm Down till tomorrow? Not sure what is real concern and what is metalling. Help me obi one knobis, you are my only hope of sanity. According to my shit home Doppler the bean still has a heartbeat. After my scare I feel such doom and I can't distinguish between real and imaginary threats anymore. Just don't trust myself.

JaffaSnaffle · 07/05/2012 08:40

Midget, has the bleeding been fairly low level all this time? Dud the person you saw on Friday give any idea how long the bleeding might go on for?
If it were me, I would go to a&e, even just to feel I was doing something. It will be quieter in the morning than later on.

How is your DD sickness bug? And how is your bug now?

Midgetm · 07/05/2012 09:19

Bleeding has been light, it was the redness that freaked me out but back to brown now and light again. So change is low level cramp (but may be that was there all the time but too sick to notice) and colour of blood. I called out of hours GP who made me an appointment at the hospital so I can get a referral to gyne as EPU closed. GP said as I was high risk I shouldn't ignore it. So I will have been at the Whittington everyday since Friday. Blimey. What a way to spend a bank holiday! X

StateofConfusion · 07/05/2012 09:40

I have had chicken pox, quite bad as a child, so that's a relief.

Thinking of you midge xxx

JaffaSnaffle · 07/05/2012 09:44

Midge, you are going through the mill aren't you? x glad you are getting seen. I hope everything goes well for you.

MissCoffeeNWine · 07/05/2012 11:10

Oh midge :( I hope it's the same issue and nothing to worry about. I understand your pain though I've bled through three pregnancies (this is the only one I haven't bled with so far) and until quite late on - I know my recrod isn't exactly inspiring but my point is I bled with DD as well all the way until 28 weeks. And she's sitting next to me now having just eaten four crumpets with butter as second breakfast. (Yes four, yes second)

Glad you feel a bit better about the pox state do you know how old you were when you had it? I read somewhere that immunity wise if you have it when you're a bit older (5 and up) your immune response is generally better - meaning while it is possible to have the pox twice that's generally the case in people who had their first lot pretty mildly as a very young child (and even then it's a tiny tiny minority whose immunity fails). Still, you'll be stuck in for the duration I'd imagine so get some activities lined up!

MandaHugNKiss · 07/05/2012 12:19

state chicken pox isn't a worry if you've had it... but mention it to your mw anyway for the official line Wink

tits see a different GP in the practice? It's unacceptable for the GP to prescribe in that way - if the meds weren't safe, you wouldn't have been given them in the first place, so what benefit is there to giving them 'for a break'? THey're not valium and addictive!

midge Bah and Gah! (Happy birthday, MrMidge). I would assume the crampiness is probably DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) which is a well known affliction of gym bunnies - when you have a particularly intense workout or work a muscle group that you don't usually, it's normal to feel pains/intense ache developing in the following 48 hours. With all your vomming/retching you will have 'exercised' parts of your abs that other lagers cannot reach Wink. Wrt to the bleeding, I am wondering if they've noted where your placenta is? And, yeah, spending the weekend back and forth to the hospital does suck donkey balls BUT the weather was shite anyway and you're all gonna come out the other side ok. YOU ARE!!

MandaHugNKiss · 07/05/2012 12:20

missC DD is part Hobbit, right??? Grin

Midgetm · 07/05/2012 13:36

Thanks everyone. I need to remove my full metal jacket and calm down. Dr was lovely, urine clear now except for blood so not a raging untreated infection. Told to only worry about the red blood if it comes back. Really beyond being able to tell if the cramps are normal (maybe even early Brixton hicks (see what I did there) from dehydration, maybe norovirus related, who fecking knows? Anyway I need to go back in if pain increases and red blood comes back. I am so caught up in negative feelings since the bleeding, it's hard to be rational and I can no longer trust myself. Thank god I have my consultant on Wednesday. May just throw myself at her legs and cling on till this baby is cooked enough to come out.

Important thing is i can eat and drink and the bean is still alive. Red blood comes back and it's full metal. Seriously how do any of us get through 9 months of this?
Thanks everyone, you have helped me regain some temporary perspective.
