The last couple of threads got lots of people pg. Let's hope this is another lucky one.

OP posts:
SweetieDoesIt · 26/04/2012 18:25

Cupcakes sorry to hear you have been a few health problems, hope you are ok my dear. Lovely to see you on here again.

Imps glad the new job is going well and the people are nice. I know what you mean about "no mumsnet" tis the same where I work Sad

Whims hope you have a lovely family break

Solars stick with the SWI, it will be all worth it in the end and remember munx and her epic run of +ve OPKs led to her BPF. Good luck my dear

Welcome cartoon it is all a bit overwhelming at first, but feel free to ask any questions, everyone on here is so supportive.

I am going for my HSG tomorrow, am naturally a bit worried bricking it both about the actual procedure and what they mind find. My policy will be to be prepared loads of drugs not sure if to go on my own, both DH and DM have offered to come with me. Any tips ladies?

TheLittleFriend · 26/04/2012 19:50

Hi everyone

Good luck tomorrow sweetie, sorry I have no advice as I've not had one.

Welcome cartoon. Sorry to hear about your mc, I hope this thread is lucky for you

cupcakes sorry about your health problems. Can't wait for your ironic bfp.

Happy Holidays imps and whims

Sorry for not name checking more, I must admit I'm a tad hungover. I hardly drink atm, so the 3 glasses with a friend last night were enough to make me feel crap today!

My friend and I decided to start a book club, and I laughed to myself when I though, 'ooh, I bet sparks & bartlet would join. I think I'm meant to be recruiting rl members!

cakes82 · 26/04/2012 20:19

Hi Sweetie I wouldn't worry too much about the HSG, its not comfy but I didn't find it too horrendous either. I went on my own drove the hour to hospital had it done and drove hour back. Take paracetemol as recommended before its done. I guess I was lucky they didn't find anything on the xray but it did the trick and I got my BFP about a month later. Brooking no argument that all will be well for you, plus you only need one tube minimum to get a BFP.
Hope that all makes sense,, Good luck for tomorrow.

GreenOlives · 26/04/2012 20:27

Sweetie I second what cakes says. The procedure is quick and I only had about 30 secs of pain as the dye was injected. I felt fine afterwards - just a few period type cramps (I had taken paracetamol & ibuprofen beforehand) DH did come with me but he had to stay in the waiting room so he wasn't exposed to the x-rays, it was nice to have his company while I was waiting though so get DH or DM to come for that reason. Good luck, hope it all goes well Smile

Little I'm with Sparks I would also love a book club!

Sweetie hope all goes well tomorrow and that you are as comfortable as can be.

Solars how did seduction 101 go? Grin I hope you don't mind me asking, but are you on the clomid for PCOS?

ScrambledSmegs · 26/04/2012 23:16

Sweetie I can only give you my experience at my HSG. I got there on time, got called through about 10 minutes late. Ushered into a cubicle to remove the clothes and shoes from my lower half and put on hospital gown. Then I waited...and waited...and waited. For half an hour!

Eventually I was called, and it was ok. Lay on a trolley-type thing, with paper sheet over bits. The consultant was very nice, did his best to put me at my ease by chatting about my DD, that kind of thing. There wasn't much discomfort for me - I had slight cramping but was far too interested in watching the screen next to the trolley, on which you could see my insides in real time. Was v. odd! The dye doesn't run out instantly so don't worry too much, they give you a paper towel and a sanitary towel just in case anyway.

I did have bad back pain the next day though. Went to the GP who told me to go to the hospital, it was nothing to do with him Hmm It faded though so I didn't bother.

Hope that helps!

ScrambledSmegs · 26/04/2012 23:21

Sorry to have missed out loads. I went to bed at 8:30pm tonight and got up again at 10:30 to eat. I'm very tired and have had a very bad day. Am seriously considering going back to the GP and getting anti-nausea stuff. Not even bothered whether I get Hot Doc or not.

Hope you're all well.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2012 00:22

Oh Smegs lovely, get back to that fit GP and get some drugs that help with the nausea. In the meantime, have you tried the anti-sickness bands you get in boots? They may take a little of the edge off it. I hope you manage to get a bit of sleep tonight x

farfallarocks · 27/04/2012 07:43

smegs you poor thing, it really is weird how much you have to eat, I keep a supply of oat cakes by the bed so I can snaffle it first thing before I get up! Despite eating every 2/3 hours I have not put on any weight at all so it really is your body craving it.

sweetie good luck with HSG, I am brooking no argument its what you need to get that BFP

Solars hope you managed the seduction last night :)

Who is next to POAS?

Solars · 27/04/2012 07:45

Sweetie thanks, we did stick with the swi [exhuasted] Now about your HSG, try not to worry love, I had mine middle of last year and it's a little bit like having a smear. I took a couple of painkillers beforehand, the only issue was with me they had to root around a little to find my cervix which they do anyway when I have a smear and that was the only discomfort I felt. They give you one of their pads to walk out into the changing rooms with, so take one of your own to go back home in as theirs is one of those industrial massive pads. I was fine the next few days.

Smegs you poor thing definitely go to the gp for some medicine if you're feeling so awful.

Maybe operation seduction went well but we're both really exhausted from it Sad DH thinks if we swi in that state that baby is going to turn out lazy Confused if thats the case we really need to inject some fun back into the next swi!! Oh in answer to your qs, we'd been diagnosed with unexplained fertility hate it when they say infertility which is why they gave us clomid in the hope it may improve our chances slightly. I don't have pcos.

Hope everyone is well, (leaves behind fresh juice and pastries)

Solars · 27/04/2012 07:47

X-posts Far hope all is well x

farfallarocks · 27/04/2012 07:49

Good job on the seduction solars

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2012 07:56

Good job Solars I also hate the 'I' word. Loving your DH's thinking there, lazy SWI=lazy baby Grin

How your doing Far? Have you started telling people you're amazing news yet?!

Good luck today Sweetie

SweetieDoesIt · 27/04/2012 08:03

Morning ladies
Smegs go back to hot doc and see if he can give you something, you can not go on like this. you poor love.

Solars well done on the SWI, it is tough slog sometimes fx it has the desired results.

Far so pleased the scan went well and minifar coming along so well (forgot to say on my last post, but I hadn't forgot)

Thank you all for your tips for the HSG, I think I will take DM with me as DH is at work but he said he will pick me up. I will follow the advice you have all given. I am a bit nervous but not overly so. I am keeping my finger crossed this will be have the magic effect it does for so many.

Am working from home this morning so I can keep popping in, see what fun you are all having!!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 27/04/2012 08:37

Morning

Thanks for the lovely welcome back, I've missed you lot. Far such fabulous news, I'm as pleased as punch to hear about little Farfette

Sweetie good luck for today. I'm sure your DM will keep you distracted and of course you've got the magic BFP to look forward too Wink

Imps that's great that your liking your new job and the people sound normal which is a bonus!

Whims have a fab holiday, am Envy as I'm desperate for a break!

Solars good work on SWI, if anyone can tell me how to inject the fun back into it I'd be grateful Grin we do manage a few fun times during the month but to be honest we are at the stage were we would be happy with once a week which does not help when ttc. And thanks so much about the offer for advice from your DH. I've luckily been dealt with very quickly as we have ENT surgery at my work. I've got to wait to see the thyroid specialist until the end of may as he is on annual leave but he has already seen my ultrasound etc and has advised on my treatment to date. Im waiting now for my biopsy results. I'm refusing to worry about it as everything I've read about these type of cysts are mainly positive.

Smegs bless you, get to the doctors ASAP. That sounds awful.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 27/04/2012 08:46

Yikes my doggy just nudged my phone and managed to post my message early. Such a clever dog Grin

I was nearly done just need to say good luck getting a doctors appointment Maybe and I'll join your book club Little I love reading (I take my kindle everywhere!) unfortunately I don't have many RL friends that like to read. I'm currently reading Game of Thrones series. Sparkle is it you who was reading GOT?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2012 08:49

Cup I am keeping everything crossed for you, I'm sure everything will be fine, then you will be well on your way to that BFP

Spent 20 mins trying to get through to docs only to be told lovely GP has no appointments, and to call back Monday for 'on the day appointments' which effectively means I will have to take monday off as the appointment could be any time. Annoyed. But at least its friday. 5: was very sweet this morning, its his last night shift so he went to the shops really early then woke me up with breakfast in bed! The only downside is it was super early (he loses track of time on nights) and I felt so sick I couldn't eat it Sad I blame stress

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2012 08:50

5: should be DH Grin

CupcakesAndCocktails · 27/04/2012 08:55

That's so annoying Maybe I hate how difficult it can be to get an appointment. How sweet that DH brought you breakfast in bed, pity about it being at the crack of dawn Grin

I'm trying to get an appointment at the doctors too over them not referring us to a fertility specialist. I'm waiting to see the doctor that has an interest in family planning. I started a thread in infertility to get some advice over my crap GP.

Ooooh, sounds fun Sparks Grin

Cups I am waiting for the fertility GP too. She is great. I went to see her when I had a random cycle, and she sent me for day 3 bloods straight away, and that was after 8 months of trying. She said come back in a few months if nothing had happened. So off I went a fdew weeks ago to a different GP who told me I had to wait till 16 months! So I am hoping nice GP will get the ball rolling.

And yes, DH is a sweetie Smile

ScrambledSmegs · 27/04/2012 11:15

Morning all. I'm on my phone and have a 5 second memory (pg brain) so apols for short update/response.

far great news! Are you going to tell people in RL soon, or keep it to yourselves a little longer?

Cupcakes I hope you get a referral soon. Sadly it's a bit of a lottery with GP's. I waited 3 weeks for an appointment with the GP I knew would take my concerns seriously, and she was great. DH had to see two, neither wanted to give him a SA for really dumb reasons, but the 2nd did because my GP had requested it. Do keep pushing, you need to be very strong I'm afraid.

Maybe are you in London? Your GP's system is terrible! Mine is a little like yours, but at least it's possible to book on the day or in advance. I've been very lucky recently though, think it's the 'P' word.

I've just had my midwife booking-in appointment. All fine, except I have to be assessed by a consultant before the Home Birth team will see me. DD's birth was rather traumatic, down to medical cascade of intervention, but even so I'm desperate to never set foot in a labour ward again Sad.

Waiting for rain to stop so I can cycle home. Feel surprisingly ok, no nausea. Maybe that's the key, early morning bike ride = no ms!

ScrambledSmegs · 27/04/2012 11:18

Oh, it was me reading GoT. On book 2, but DH asked me to stop reading it while we watched the tv series, as he thought it gave me an unfair advantage!

There is (or was) a MNer called InfestationOfLannisters, which is my favourite quote from book 1 Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2012 11:29

Smegs you are now a MWEPP! Congrats! Glad you are feeling a little better today, the fresh air must be playing its part Smile

No, I am not in London, I am in Essex. Are you in London? My friend is a midwife and her team specialise in home births, it all sounds so lovely, I would def like to give that a go if I ever get there.
