Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

never been on the pill and never will be. i have a phobia about my fertility being effected so wont have anything that messes with my hormones LOL xx

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 13:05

this morning i felt so sick i actually sat with my head over the toilet and then nothing happened. feel fine now xx

Persuasion · 05/04/2012 18:01

Oooh, sounds positive something are you late yet? Only way to know is to POAS not that I'm living vicariously through you, not me

Looks like a few of us are just at the start of a cycle, so we'll all be testing around the same time. This is good because I already think this is sending me crazy!

Dysgu · 05/04/2012 18:52

Yes, a month or so from now and there will be more POAS!

I don't recall this being such a big issue the last two times. This time, though, we paid more attention to dates as both DDs came (very) early so we didn't want a due date before December so that the earliest arrival would be in October!! (I am a big fan of Autumn/Winter babies and certainly didn't want to risk an early arrival at the end of the summer.)

Persuasion · 05/04/2012 18:55

This is my first time, so all is new, scary and frustrating!

How early were they dysgu, sounds quite anxiety provoking to me? Assume they're both doing ok now though?

AWomanCalledHorse · 05/04/2012 19:04

something, I'm like you..never wanted to be on the pill. Sounds promising for POAS.

Hi Dexidoo!

Hope everyone makes the most of the long weekend, Wink (in a non-pervy way).

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 19:05

ERTD is due on friday the 13th. friday the 13th ffs. that either going to be unlucky friday 13th or lucky 13! or ERTD will trick me and come later than expected. symtoms could be all in my head though.....

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 19:07

yeah woman i have gynae problems in the past and never want to hinder what ive got! concived DS a month after having a 10cmx7cm tumor removed from my ovary. yummah.

had a very complicated pregnancy so when i am pregnant hoping for a much smoother ride!

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 19:09

LOL woman were DTDing as soon as DP gets in. DS permitting of course!

Dysgu · 05/04/2012 19:17

DD1 arrived at 32 weeks and DD2 arrived at 35 weeks - we hope to go to term with DC3! Labour with both was short (DD1 had huge brain bleed due to speed of her arrival). However, no reason for early arrivals has been found so it will probably mean consultant-led care this time. I avoided it last time and MW was great.

Yes, they are both fine now so FX'd for another 'easy' one although it would be nice to be able to bring one home from the hospital on the same day as I leave!

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 20:03

DS was nearly delievered by EMCS at 31 weeks. was allowed only that day for labour to stop otherwise he would of been a premmie. someone was watching over me that whole pregnancy....until the end.

crushed by a horse at 5 weeks preterm labour at 29 and 31 weeks 2 and 4 days of contractions those stingy steriods and the nefedipine wich fucked my blood pressure up big time.

3 partial ruptres of the membranes. group-b strep. sudden severe onset PET fetal distress and DS emerged by crash section.

massive pph in theatre 4 blood transfusions and sepsis. and i want to do it again Grin

lollypopsicle · 05/04/2012 20:23

Wow, Something makes my fears of a second birth seem trivial considering I had no complications last time. Glad your dc's are fit and well now.
I also think I'm far more 'aware' of ttc this time. Perhaps because I now know it's possible, I just want it to happen now!

AWomanCalledHorse · 05/04/2012 20:36

Shock, flippin' nora something, glad DS & you are both alright now...will you require extra attention during pg/labour because of all that?
Dysgu, that's good news about no reason...do they have any idea if you're likely to have early babies again? Or are you just a mystery!

DS was induced at 39wks because he stopped moving, planned a home birth but he developed an ectopic heartbeat at 37wks so spent labour strapped up & with all the drugs in the world. He's fine now...cheeky little bugger.

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 20:51

obviously i will ask the doc/midwife about the possibilities of it happening again especially the pre-term labour and the PET. DS was induced at 39+5 due to PET. +++ protein and a bp of 160/110. 17 hours of induced labour with just gas and air. am hoping for VBAC if im allowed.

DS was a tricky bugger took the surgeons half an hour to get him out im told. feet had to be untagled and pulled out of ribs and head had to be pulled up from the pelvis. one midwife who looked after me told me there was alot of blood on the floor [grins] apparantly it just sort of flooded out of me.

hes a perfectly happy and health and very greedy little man now! being in utero just wasnt his thing until it came to being forcebly removed Grin

AWomanCalledHorse · 05/04/2012 22:00

Can't get the link to work something, my DS is in my profile pics.

Dexidoo · 06/04/2012 08:13

Gosh all these complicated pregnancy & birth stories is enough to start worrying a first timer! Glad you've all come through it ok, you are brave to be going there again.

So CD13 and a 4 day weekend, sounds like a good combo to me!

Pinkie29 · 06/04/2012 08:37

Hello everyone! I may join you all soon! I'm on cycle 3 ttc no 1 and going slowly mad! To top it off a friend last night said she tried for her 2nd dc for 11 months then gave up and fell preggers! Method in the madness? x

somethingwittynot · 06/04/2012 08:55

a week today is testing day!

Fraktal · 06/04/2012 14:49

dexi DS was conceived using the just shagging method and I was then just pregnant, just popped and just BFed with pretty much no complications. I'm hoping it works for round 2!

babylann · 06/04/2012 17:52

Nothing like something, but had a relatively complicated pregnancy and birth, had left me a bit too scared to try again but just decided odds are on my side to have an easier ride this time. Only problem is the SPD, I have a much increased chance of having that again and that wa hellish... Especially as it wasn't diagnosed so I was never given crutches or any special advice til after she was born.

Had one of those bittersweet 'dd is growing up so fast' moments earlier, always get broody at times like that.

somethingwittynot · 06/04/2012 20:40

Sorry for the tmi but had pinkish creamy pant snot only on wiping and a small spot in knickers. ERTD of doom is not due for another week working on A 28 day cycle have no idea of cycle as only had one ERTD since the birth of DS so working on a 28 day cycle I'm around 7 days post ovulation. Don't know what to think really.

Fraktal · 07/04/2012 05:36

Nothing is TMI in here Grin

Persuasion · 07/04/2012 10:41

Welcome pinkie

something, babylann and dysgu at least all worked out in the end, it sounds pretty scary though. Here's hoping next time is better.

awoman your son is adorable (and I also love his patchwork blanket!). something, your link doesn't work, I was hoping to coo over the source of all this trouble! In terms of the spotting, on 7DPO could it be implantation bleeding?

I still really am not sure what my body is up to. Had 3 days of (maybe) withdrawal bleeding. But am feeling tired, intermittently nauseous and (TMI) a little constipated. I know I can't possibly be pregnant yet, and am trying to tell myself it's the shift in hormones from having my mirena removed but I'm not entirely managing to convince myself see I told you it was already sending me crazy

Dexidoo · 07/04/2012 14:16

persuasion I had my mirena out in Jan and had major PMS symptoms in the week or so of my first withdrawal bleed, I'm convinced the hormones hang around for a bit.
My gynaecologist told me you can get pregnant straight away and we decided to hold off the first month so now were on cycle 2 of seeing if it happens
