Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Hey everyone!

Can I ask what age you are pinkie? i'm 37 and TTC no.1. I worked out today that I'll be at least 38 before any baby is born, and if we have trouble conceiving then I could be 39 or 40 or more. Nothing against older mums and no offence intended, especially as it looks like I will be one as I want more than one child, all being well, but I just can't believe how the years have crept up on me! To be fair, I only found my DH three years ago and I have had a good, fulfilling career which I've put a lot into and got a lot out of, but I just wish I was started this baby-making journey a wee bit earlier! I keep going jogging in the hope of losing the extra stone I'm carrying around and reducing my 'physical age' (you know, that thing where if you live healthily your body thinks it's younger?! hmm, not sure about how all the cider and chocolate works with that plan...!)

In other news, we are sticking to our JSing-every-other-day plan. But last night when husb got home neither of us were really in the mood so we had the most comical love-making session. I can't really explain it but we were both laughing all the way through at the ridiculousness of having to do it! Hmm...!

Hope everyone is well. Hurray for the resumption of JSing and may all other ERTDs depart forthwith! Here's to the next month ...

somethingwittynot · 16/05/2012 18:45

my SIL whos due in november has just gone to hospital with severe pains

SunshineandChoccy · 16/05/2012 18:51

Ooops sorry I might have just posted my message before finishing Blush
So please ignore that balls up
south sometimes people just have a massive inability to empathise and live in a me me world - sad really but as long as you gave them your opinion then there is little else you can do. Oh and people not giving you a seat when you had the badge on is just bad manners.
awoman way way too much info, I was so happy for her when I found out but now it's just grating. I wish I could delete her but I feel bad.
kitten I tend to get mild ovulation pain which goes away (I used to think it was indigestion or IBS but put two and two together a few months ago)
something although I haven't got children yet I see what you mean about being worried if you will be able to have more because you are on that TTC journey again and not being in control of the outcome is very stressful, not knowing if it will happen that month etc is stressful. If only we could flick a switch which creates a "net" around those swimmers and brings them swiftly to our eggs it would be perfect

Pinkie29 · 16/05/2012 19:30

something that's awful Sad hope your sil is ok bless her

Mandasand I've just turned 30 wasn't intending to offend older ttcers either just trying to help Something feel a bit more positive.

I know 30 is still relatively young in the grand scheme of things but in comparison to some friends and family I'm ancient and should have had kids ten years ago... So they say Grin mum had my brother at 31 so hoping I still have a chance!

My dp is in a very frisky mood this evening hehe! I've no idea when I ov was cd 28 last month! (willing vitex to help my ov come quicker!)

somethingwittynot · 16/05/2012 19:34

DS can now sit on my lap by him self! Grin

lollypopsicle · 16/05/2012 20:27

I worry all the time that I won't be able to conceive again. I don't think reading threads on MN helps this either as it reminds me how many people struggle to fall preggers.

I did not enjoy being pregnant. I hated feeling fat and immobile. Conversely, I now hanker for that feeling again. Especially feeling/watching them move- loved that bit Smile

I am feeling very bloated and uncomfortable. Think I've eaten something dodge. Waaay too soon for poss symptoms though. Have vowed to be sensible this month!

Believe I've ov for this month but will keep js-ing. I too feel a niggly little ov pains and get ewcm.

Enjoy the js-ing ladies!

babylann · 16/05/2012 20:38

We're coming to the end of the thread. In tradition we've kept so far, with one of the longest standing JSers to be the ones who make the new thread, can it please be me? Grin Apart from Josie and Nelly, who are lurking and made the last two threads, I think I'm next in line!

And they say it is good luck and with my cycles, I think I need it Wink

Go for it babylann
Something lovely that you DS is starting to sit up. Smile

I'm 31 btw. No regrets about not ttc earlier. I didn't feel old enough for years, I still don't sometimes! Grin

babylann · 16/05/2012 21:29

Ta-da, a brand new shiny thread!

You obviously don't need to start using it til this one is full unless you really wanna Grin

Dysgu · 16/05/2012 22:03

Just managed to catch up with everyone's news - but DP has headed off to bed and will probably be fast asleep when I get there! We started off the month quite well with some JSing every other day since ERTD disappeared. Since then though, some projectile vomiting from DD2 (hurrah for leather sofas!) and the stress of Year 6 SATs at work mean we have been sleeping in any bed available and not necessarily at the same time.

Still, we may have done enough so I am going to have to work out when next ERTD.

Have also just checked out lovely new thread babylan

Dysgu · 16/05/2012 22:03

Sorry babylann

AWomanCalledHorse · 16/05/2012 22:04

south, sorry to hear you had a rough time post-birth last time! You don't come across as a SAHM basher! I'm a SAHM & I Hmm at the mental Sloney pony ones who need to justify their SAHM-ing.
Enjoy your night with Nick Knowles you filthy woman!! Wink

top, properly in awe of your pub running whilst pg, I could barely stand up long enough to wash up!
tired Envy nice clothes? Whilst pg? LIES!! No matter how lovely an item looked on the rail/model I looked like a pig in everything!
something hope your sil is ok!

Just tried the link to new thread to have a little look around but my iPad doesn't seem to like the links on mum's net they never work! What's it called? I'm worried you'll all move and I'll get left behind. Still no ERTD here. How are you KICKING?

SunshineandChoccy · 17/05/2012 07:43

babylann see you and everyone on the new thread and high five for continuing the JSing mission Grin

topbannana · 17/05/2012 09:59

When I look back I do wonder how I managed with the pub and being pg. In fairness I had my mum about who did the bulk of the work while I pottered about, fanning cigarette smoke away from me and tutting sanctimoniously at people drinking and generally enjoying themselves :o I have worked in the licensed trade since I was 17 so didn't really know any different, suspect it could be very different second time around :)

haha south I have had the same thought about the IT department - and also because the title gets truncated on the tabs at the bottom of my screen, so if any ever sneaks up behind me and takes a look, they'd see "Microsoft Outlook", "Calendar", "Database", "Just Shagging".....

Oh so professional don't you think?! :):)

Pinkie29 · 17/05/2012 11:24

south I'd best get a nice on then don't want to be the geriatric on the maternity ward haha
