Just Shagging - the lazy way to make a baby! Part, um, 8?

MuddyWellyNelly · 27/03/2012 22:38

Over the last year or two we've had a thread for those who are Just Shagging. Confused by OPKs, too lazy to temp, can't read a chart to save your life? Not quite ready to forgo the Wine? Well stick with us!

Of course it's been SO successful that we're down to a tiny handful of regular posters, as everyone else has graduated and we'll ignore the fact that those of us that are left are probably way beyond Just Shagging. But it's an ethos rather than a strict rule. Come and join the fun Grin.

No rules here, other than EWCM is hereafter known as Pant Snot. AF is known as the Evil Red Tide of Doom (ERTD). Viroids is our name of choice, the reason is long since lost in the annals of time. If you really feel the need to take a test, Gu Ramekins are what all the classy birds are using. And of course, drinking is essential. Sometimes, we even remember to have sex Wink

So don your shag capes and throw your legs in the air caution to the wind :)

Old thread here if you want proof it works!

Same, I didn't even test for a few weeks after missing ERTD because every time I started worrying I might be pg, I'd suddenly get some reassuring period cramps and think, "Ah right, it's on it's way." And relax.

If possible, all these new faces have got me even more excited about starting TTC again :) Good job Nelly!

somethingwittynot · 02/04/2012 21:57

thanks woman it really would be amazing if ive fallen wonder if ill puke again tomorrow?

PricklyPickle · 02/04/2012 22:03

Its a funny old world when you're looking forward to puking Grin

somethingwittynot · 02/04/2012 22:25

haha! weird but i am looking forward to it! Grin had hyperemesis with DS. not fun.

Persuasion · 03/04/2012 07:39

It does sound hopeful somethingwitty - I never imagined I could feel jealous of nausea! Have you decided when you will test?

Thank you for the welcome Horse. Coil removal successful and getting into the spirit I enticed DH into first JS last night. He's not going to know what's hit him...
We are TTC #1 but are both only children, and would love more rather than less, although I reserve the right to change my mind after the first one

alwyn · 03/04/2012 08:53

Right, last packet of pills is well and truly finished - waiting for ERTD to start on Thursday then we start JS with abandon!!!

DH is starting to really get into it - I've got an app on my phone which tracks my cycle (only roughly as I have a bang on 28 day cycle with the pill!) and he's made sure he knows when we need to start DTD to try and conceive ASAP! Bless!

I'm in two minds - really excited about becoming a mummy but absolutely terrified at the idea at the same time!!

Fraktal · 03/04/2012 12:01

Okay April, DS is turning 1 and I'm coming back for round 2 properly. Our JS has been rather halfhearted (we cosleep and have a live in nanny Blush) also there had been no ERTD since DS so JS and hope is my theory!

JosieSmith1 · 03/04/2012 13:14

Well, seeing as you all twisted my arm, I'll just quickly let you know, had IUI last Friday, went really well, now I'm encouraging 'Fred and Ginger' to do their thing Grin and test day is Friday 13th dum dum duuuum.... Grin

I've still got you on my 'Threads ImWatching' list so I'll never be far away Smile

babylann · 03/04/2012 13:27

Ooh good luck Josie, very exciting! Hehe, I love that you called them 'Fred and Ginger'.

Well... rough day here. I was making a cake and DD looked interested, so I let her stir... Big mistake! Shock She kept trying to eat the mixture and I couldn't let her as there was raw egg and she's had a bit of an "off" tummy lately anyway... god, she was inconsolable. For half an hour she wouldn't stop screaming and crying. I tried all my normal tricks to calm her down, giving her the stuff she loves, then even giving her stuff she loves that I don't let her have very often (like Teletubbies on TV Hmm), nothing worked! The mother of all tantrums... If I lived next door to someone whos child was making noises like that, I would be wondering whether to call social services...

I've actually been a bit scared of her since! Creeping around my own daughter in case I offend her in some way and set her off again...

So on days like yesterday, I'm really eager for another baby... Today I'm leaning more towards getting a full time job and letting DP tackle the parenting thing!

somethingwittynot · 03/04/2012 13:44

my testing day is friday the 13th Confused. i went out today and brought a 2 pack of 2 clearblue digis that you can use from four days before your due. ive dicided to wait until im due if i can wait so will POAS the morning of friday the 13th.

no sickness today but have had severe nausea and backache and headache and tierdness. probably jinxed myself now ive brought the tests!

MuddyWellyNelly · 03/04/2012 22:05

Just very quick to say good luck Josie :)

Lovely to see the thread so active too! Will try and catch up soon.

Another newbie tentatively hopping aboard after a couple of weeks of lurking!

Had my coil out mid Jan after it started causing problems, about a month later we decided we will 'see what happens' AKA JS I guess.

So I am 33 (just) quietly hoping for #1 currently on 3rd cycle day 11, although things are all over the shop still.

I considered the evil ovulation kits but I'm trying to not drive myself insane, or completely freak out DH who doesn't easily do big decisions.

It's lovely to be among peeps in similar situation- we haven't told anyone we are potentially TTC as don't want to jinx things, plus after nearly 4 years of marriage family have only just stopped regularly dropping hints about us sprogging up

Good luck ladies!

Purpledragon · 04/04/2012 08:16

Hi Dexi, I'm a new one too, only posted 'bout pant snot so far (my current crazy-making project). Tip: don't go there. Anyway wanted to point out how much I hate those piss stick ov kit whatsits. I seem to remember something about needed to do them in the afternoon with 4hours of wee inside you. What's that? Not for me. Good luck.

Dexidoo · 04/04/2012 08:37

Too right purpledragon restricting fluids, holding on for hours and peeing on a stick in the middle of a day at the office, hmmm

I don't think I could manage accurate temp taking either- I'm on autopilot first thing- let the dog out and make a cup of tea!

Am restraining myself from gusset-watch just yet, time will tell Wink

Purpledragon · 04/04/2012 09:25

Good for you. Hopefully shagging is all takes for you.

somethingwittynot · 04/04/2012 13:42

i still have nausea headaches and lower back ache but who knows?!?

Vizzini · 04/04/2012 15:55

Oh something FX'd for you! Sounds hopeful.
I'm due around 16th, I think, but I'm going to try and not test unless I'm late. Not sure how realistic that is though. It's only cycle #1 for us so I know it's unlikely to have happened straight away and I think I'd rather see ERTD than a BFN.

Persuasion · 04/04/2012 18:23

Arghhhh, so ERTD got me today. I guess this is the withdrawal bleed but I wasn't expecting it so soon! Naively thought that since I was mid cycle (day 15) when I had the coil removed it would take longer than this. And I was wearing my pretty new knickers. Grrrrr

On the plus side, at least I know where I am a little more now. And can really get JSing once this is over!

Dexidoo I'm also on autopilot in the morning, except for me it's feed the cat, make the tea! Don't think I could temp either.

Good luck josie - surely you are the epitomy of JSing??

How is everyone else today?

Dysgu · 04/04/2012 19:54

I am not sure I have ever paid attention to pant snot before! Not even sure I have heard the term. However, I am not really sure when ERTD is due - we only decided to get rid of the condoms on March 18 (after just using one!) but we had been having the conversation about whether to go for DC3 for a while before that.

Thinking about what was happening during last AF I think it must have been about the beginning of March so 18th would have been around OV. So then I thought ERTD was due last Friday - but nothing. Did POAS on Sunday but it says not - and still nothing; although there does seem to be some small amount of brownish pant snot appearing when I wipe (TMI?!) which is unusual as AF is usually bright and obvious!

So now I am waiting until either something happens or the end of the Easter break - which is 4 weeks from the 18th and the first time we DTD unwrapped!

somethingwittynot · 04/04/2012 21:46

im trying to wait until ERTD is late if its late until i test but i stupidly went and brought ones you can do from 4 days before. gawd.

lollypopsicle · 04/04/2012 22:15

ERTD is well and truly here. On the bright side, I'm looking forward to a bank holiday glass of cava or 2.

something, how are the symptoms going? Still 'feeling' it?

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 00:09

Today I've had nausea increased after eating breakfast lower stomach cramps and backache and headaches. Boobs are sore if pressed on but feel full like my bras to tight/small.DP just elbowed me in the boob. ow don't know if its connected but I felt very nauseus and was instantly followed by backache? Odd.

somethingwittynot · 05/04/2012 09:18

freaky shits happening here! ahh

babylann · 05/04/2012 11:04

Have you come off the pill recently? Although not trying to pee on your bonfire, I had all those symptoms consistently for the first two months off the pill. Still got fingers crossed though!

No JSing for me this month it seems. We have completely lost our sex drive lately, mostly through tiredness and now we are off for a spur of the moment weekend at the ILs.

Pretty sure we would have missed the window by now anyway.

Dysgu · 05/04/2012 11:11

ERTD finally arrived this morning - which at least gives us a starting date to work from now that we know we need to keep a closer eye on it!

Hopefully DP will get better in the next week or so and we can then resume DTD!
