Right, I bit the bullet and started the new thread. Hope it's OK. Here's to mucho more laughter, tears, support, tea and biscuits! xxx

No purple, you're in the right place. We're a hodge podge of ttc obsessives interested people; some of us are graduates (preggers), but we've all stuck together because we have a laugh and are generally supportive! I reckon you'll fit right in! :)

festiemum · 02/04/2012 22:41

moo, be sure to get yourself checked out tomorrow if you're still feeling rough.

Lilliana · 03/04/2012 07:26

Hi Purple you're more than welcome to hop on our mattress. Can't promise the problem is solved but as festie says we're a mixed bunch with some fairly new ttc-ers, some that have taken lots some time ttc and some that have actually managed it!

Moo how are you feeling today?

Rusulka I think my blueberry bush is dying already :( I'm never going to hit the dizzy horticultural heights that you attain. However I'm not bad with an axe! Apparently distruction rather than creation seems to be my strong point!

Yuck ironing - so glad my Dh wears overalls Grin

I'm off to school today as got loads to do. Will see how far I get as I seem to be fine for a bit and then get really tired and a bit sicky feeling quite quickly.

Got to tidy before I go as the cleaner is coming today!!

Lilliana · 03/04/2012 08:42

oops destruction, it is the holidays!

Purpledragon · 03/04/2012 09:06

Thanks for welcome. I've (well we) have been ttc-ing for around one thousand years. Really good at it ( apart from the getting pg bit!)

Lilliana · 03/04/2012 10:00

You're definately in the right place!! We were trying for 2 years before I got pg, now praying it sticks around. Have a fear that when we finally have a scan they are going to say there is nothing in there and I made it all up.

Have you had any tests / meds etc? Is this your first?

Rusulka · 03/04/2012 11:01

Lil I thought that. But there was a baby there, doing sod all, ignoring the sonographer, etc. I love how all the medical peeps assume that because it is unco-operative it is a boy. This makes me bristle with indignation. They obviously don't know me very well at all. My dad instantly said 'ooh, it's definitely 90% one of us then' (as opposed to DH's family, lol).
Also, dizzy horticultural heights?!?!? I've grown pumpkins and cherry tomatoes once, at my mum and dad's, their dog was a puppy at the time and would play with them like they were balls, snapping off stems, etc. Hardly a success!!!

This is the first time ever I've been in a place with the space to grow stuff properly, and the first year I'm attempting it- fingers crossed!

Welcome PurpleDragon! You're in the right place. Grin

Moo, how's your bits today?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/04/2012 11:08

Morning ladies.

Purple welcome, welcome, welcome Grin

Am loving the pant snot (not literally, though, I hasten to add).

Ladies.............................................I think I may be ovulating.

Basically, popped to the loo this morning for my first wee of the day and on wiping there was an ungodly amount of EWCM..............i mean more than I have ever seen. I never even get that much when I go for a turtle!!!!!! Then when I had managed to compose myself, i did go for a turtle, and it's very slimy and slippery up there (crikey, I hope no-one at work can see this Blush), and my CP is high...............soft...................and................open!!

I am now wondering if all the craziness could possibly be my body gearing up to release that egg!?! Have some odd sharp, really quite painful and breath taking, twinges near the left ovary this morning. All thoughts welcome.

Lil if it's any consolation, my plant growing exercise this year is going about as well as my ability to conceive. My tomatoes last year were brilliant but this year....not so good! And i think distructing things is much better than destructing Grin

Purpledragon · 03/04/2012 11:11

Lil, thanks and many congrats. It's my second and my first, which I now realize is a werid thing to say. I have an adopted 2 and a half year old son, but never been pg. Always interested to adopt and we said 'which ever comes first' now I really would like him to have a brother or sister and right now our situation doesn't allow an adoption process.

We were both checked out around 4 years ago, no issues found. I realize things can change but I'm not sure I can face going through that again, but thinking 'bout it. I'm pretty sure the 'high tech route' is not for me. Currently living in the middle east where women 15 years younger than me have IVF all the time....

Purpledragon · 03/04/2012 11:26

Moo, honestly is this just to make jealous??? Can a person overdose on EPO? If so, that person could be me. Still the only egg whites near me are in the kitchen. Seriously sounds good though, perhaps on this thread but what CD are you?

Lilliana · 03/04/2012 11:35

oh oh oh moo sounds very good, chuck a sickie and get Dh home for a -bit lot of swi!! Are you feeling better today?

Rusulka feel somewhat reassured that I am not a total horicultural fail then! Will persevere with the blueberries and maybe branch out next year - hopefully will be on mat leave so plenty of time for gardening Grin Hmm

Purple have you been trying for over 4 years then? Wow, that is commitment, hope that it works out for you soon.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/04/2012 11:35

Purple genuinely not trying to make anyone jealous. I have PCOS and don't ovulate (have ovulated twice in the last 12 months), my cycles varying from 23-77 days. I have just had a HSG (horrendous procedure) and I am hoping that it might have kickstarted my body into doing something other than being completely useless.

I am currently on CD16 and I am hoping beyond hope that i lay an egg this month.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/04/2012 11:37

Lil not feeling as bad as yesterday, will definitely be jumping DH tonight, but the pain in my ovarian region is a little more than uncomfortable and I am now starting to stress that the HSG did more harm than good.

Purpledragon · 03/04/2012 11:43

Lil, I don't really know how long because we have been on and off for more than that, but off more than on what with lots of other stuff going on. Who knows though right?

Moo, all your signs look really great for it and I hear that the cycle after HSG can work out well for some women. Fingers crossed you are one of them (I wasn't but then I believe actually having sex that cycle would have helped!). Don't want you to think I'm making light of your situation. X

coveredinflour · 03/04/2012 18:07

Hello ladies!

[waves at everyone]

Sorry I went awol after my crap day the other week. And thank you for your kind words. Things have got a bit better although we're having work done in our flat so everything is covered in dust and there's no room to sit anywhere (not to mention no kitchen or shower) but hopefully it will all be worth it!

Have just been skimming through and looks like i've missed quite a lot but things generally going well!

Welcome purple - sounds like you've been on quite a journey. Lack of pant snot is worrying. Personally i'm always a bit confused as to what i'm actually looking at. Seem to get EWCM a few times each month which is perhaps just as useless as none at all.

Moo have been wondering how it all went. Glad it was ok and fab news about ovulation!!

Lil how is early pg? Any sickness yet? Glad you were able to avoid hen party drunkeness!

I know i've missed everyone else out. Will go through properly and post later when i'm not on my stupid little phone.

As for me, i'm on CD 16 (same as you Moo). As per usual no idea if when ov is coming. Had EWCM at the weekend, then nothing yesterday but a bit today. I THINK! This might be tmi but my EWCM always look a bit too thick so am wondering if its actually another type of CM and is actually a barrier to sperm...

Don't especially want a xmas baby so am hoping (!) sod's law means this will be the month. Dtd on both sat and sun so you never know... But then AF has been so irregular recently have no idea what, if anything is happening in there!

Oh well, am trying to chill out about it and at least if i'm not pg i'll be able to enjoy our wine tasting holiday to portugal in a couple of weeks!!

How's everyone else today?

Purpledragon · 03/04/2012 18:25

Hey flour, you CD 16 like Moo, I'm behide you but generally ov early (to the best of my knowledge). Still no CM! If yours is too thick you could always think of thinning it ( cough meds, I guess you may know) next cycle, let's hope you don't have to think 'bout that though....

alexeliza · 03/04/2012 18:29

Sorry - just a quick post, as I need to head out but just wanted to check through the posts......

Moo - yay!! EWCM, and loads of it!!! Hope you and DH manage lots of SWI!! FX, really hope that this is the month!!!! xx

Welcome purpledragon.......hello to everyone else!!!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 04/04/2012 06:55

Hi ladies, on phone so just a quick update but does this look good for possible ov?

Will do proper catch up later. Wink

Lilliana · 04/04/2012 07:22

Looks good moo, I can't see why they are discounting day 4 but without that temp in it looks even better. You know as well as anyone though the only way to tell is to get another few days of high temps. fx they stay up x

Hi flour great to see you back. How are you feeling atm? Hope the work on the flat makes it feel all lovely and new. I'm not sure about cm that barrs sperm but never looked much into it, as purple says I know there are some things that encourage ewcm. Also get your feelings about a christmas baby, I didn't want one either (although by this point would have taken it at any time!)

Wrt pg, all seems a little surreal, keep doing all the right things but not sure why as it doesn't feel like anything is in there (thanks for the reassurance on that one rusulka.) Have moments of feeling a bit sick and am tired in the afternoons (since we broke up I've been having an afternoon nap Grin) Also eating far too much, really need to stop but I'm sooo hungry!

Has anyone got snow? This weather is bonkers!

Purpledragon · 04/04/2012 07:27

Looks possible Moo, I have a rise like that (not dramatic) this morning too. So I'm considering mine a possible and see what it looks like tomorrow. Generally my rise is more/clearer but I've had it like this once before, when it went up over a few days rather than all at once. X

Purpledragon · 04/04/2012 07:33

Hey flour and Lil, I don't want a Xmas baby, but then again of course I do. In the end, seems like a small thing (my sister is one and we have never heard the end of the moaning!).

Yes the cough med is specifically for thinning CM, I don't use it because I can't find the correct one where in live and oh yes can't find any CM so how can it be too thick? Well...just thought it could be thick and hiding, perhaps hiding because it's too thick? Mental.

alexeliza · 04/04/2012 13:37

Moo - looks really positive for this month, FX!!
Flour - I know what you mean about a Xmas baby. If I'd managed to fall pg on the last cycle, DD would have been 10 Dec which would have been fine, but then you start worrying about if they come late, that's ever so much closer to Xmas. Still, I agree with Lil, I think at this stage, I'd take anything. Smile

coveredinflour · 04/04/2012 23:08

Hello everyone!

Let's hope Father Christmas has a special delivery for us this Xmas.

purple Thanks for the advice about cough mixture and thinning EWCM. I'd not heard that before. Might wait a few more cycles and then see if I need it (am only on cycle 3 so I guess still relatively early days). It's always hard to know what is "normal" with cm, let alone to then figure out if everything else is working properly. It's not like you can ask someone to show you theirs!! (and not sure I'd want to see tbh).

Plus, I seem to get it a couple of times each month... So perhaps I'm misinterpreting the entire thing.

Either way, I don't think this is the month. Have not managed to SWI as much as I would have liked - did more last month and no baby. Plus, don't FEEL anything (although am probably only about 2DPO so I know it would be unlikely at this point). Have chilled out about it all a bit this month (despite appearances), mostly because of the Xmas baby thing. This has mainly included drinking a fair amount of wine and now SWIing so much... Once I'm in the 2ww will cut out the booze though just in case and then next cycle will be back to the boring teetotaldom in the hopes that it does the trick!

Lil - I can totally understand why you feel like there's nothing there. I've spoken to quite a few people who said the same thing. But if you're feeling sick and tired I'm sure it's all fine! So exciting!

The kitchen and bathroom work has really come on today - we now have a hob installed (not connected) and a bath (same), so we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Either way will be so glad when I can clean up all the dirt and rid the flat of the smell of damp plaster and sealant...

No snow here. In fact it's been relatively nice, but we don't tend to get really cold weather here in the Big Smoke.

moo - I am no good on the charting front I'm afraid. My track record has been pretty abysmal, but it seems good - fingers crossed!

Now off to bed!

Good night all!

Discolite · 04/04/2012 23:28

Hi Purple! Welcome to Switzerland!

Well, I haven't posted for ages! Probably cos I'm doing ok. Coming up to 3 weeks since the miscarriage and bar the odd thing to ambush me I'm pretty much normal (well...). DtD has recommenced (hurrah!), spotting seems to finally be on the way out, but then i've thought that for at least the last ten days. I'm still getting very faint positives but hopefully the next one will be negative. My temps are a bit bumpy but hopefully not bad enough to make ov hard to spot. Just gotta sit tight, keep having sex and hope I ovulate!

Moo hope you see two more high temps! But the ewcm has to be a good sign, surely?!

Flour hello! Work done? Sounds exciting.

Alex yeah, a Christmas/New Year baby wouldn't be my ideal but after my october baby didn't make it I'll quite happily have anything! August, Christmas, anything would be fine. If I ov at the usual time (who knows what will happen this cycle) I think it'd work out as 28th Dec...anyway,we'll take whatever we get.

Lil I was famished when pregnant! Here's hoping you don't get proper sickness.

We took our puppy to his first training class today...oh my, what a mixture of dogs! From a bull mastiff pup to a dachshund. It was a bit chaotic, and Jim totally failed to lie down for me, but did for the instructor (grr) but it was fun, if surprisingly tiring. I've put a picture of him on my profile if you want a look. He's lying under the bed in our spare bedroom.

Night night!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 05/04/2012 07:18

Morning ladies. Can't believe how crazy the weather was yesterday. Snow FFS. In April!!! WTF?!?!

Disco glad you are feeling better and that you have managed to dtd!! Your puppy is bloody gorgeous. If I get a chance after work I'll upload some of Oscar so you can see what he might look like when he grows up Grin

Flour good to see you. I know what you mean about an Xmas baby. I had the conversation with DH and we both didn't think it was ideal, but like you said, I'll take anything at the moment. If we were successful this month my due date would be Xmas Day Hmm

Purple I did not know that about cough mixture. Not that I ever get a lot of any kind of CM but good to know for the future. Although if I get put on Clomid I have heard that can dry it up completely Confused

Lil hope your enjoying the Easter hollibobs. Do you have a date for your scan yet? Bet you can't wait to actually see some proof Smile

Met a friend for a few drinks last night. He lives in New York and was only back for a week so it was rude not to Grin Temp was higher still this morning but I'm worried it might have been the alcohol rather than anything else Sad my boobs hurt like a mother f@&ker though. Is that a symptom of post ov? Does anyone get this? And they feel very firm as well.

Last day at work. Whoop whoop. And the tomatoes have started to sprout Grin
