See a Rat. Smack it.

OP posts:
BeedleTheBard · 28/03/2012 10:57

Actually, I want to know if the marmalade cupboard is in teh bathroom, or was whims planning on POAS in teh kitchen Shock

My implantation bleeding has also stopped for now HmmGrin

shinyblackgrape · 28/03/2012 11:09

oh maybe - thank you. You're all so kind and it makes me want to cry. Scan is on Sunday 7 April I nearly put 2012 but obviously!

I also meant to say, my teenage gp told me that certain gps in the practice specialise in different things. How specialised they are I don't know. But would it be worth asking for one that specialises in conception? Rather than one which is a twunt? maybe not the last bit

shinyblackgrape · 28/03/2012 11:10

Good news beedle! I'm on the train to London at the moment. Brilliant for posting!

McPopcornMouseNFries · 28/03/2012 11:15

Step away from the google, shiny! It will all be fine - the baby will take what vitamins it needs, it will just be you that might feel a bit rubbish :) How many weeks are you now?
Our GPs do the same - you can see what they specialise in (well, the letters after their names + google = what they specialise in) on the surgery website.

O.m.g it's so exciting, so many of you are teetering on the brink of being bona fide PSEPPs! Shock :) :)

whims you have a whole cupboard dedicated to marmalade? I just about manage a shelf of chutneys, but I'm too afraid to eat them while pg incase I get botulism Blush

McPopcornMouseNFries · 28/03/2012 11:16

:o :o beedle

shinyblackgrape · 28/03/2012 11:24

Exciting development here in Impsland - I just tried on a maxi dress and it made me look pregnant. This is a clear sign that this time tomorrow (when the egg has hopefully popped) I shall be even more pregnant than I already am. I shall have to arrange an afternoon tea to celebrate!

whimsicalname · 28/03/2012 13:34

Ok, I'm back.

Important things first: We have a shower room next to the kitchen, but being a 'wet' room, it doesn't have any storage in. When I bother to pee on OPK sticks, i tend to do it as the boys are having their supper, so the sticks live in the first cupboard through the kitchen door, which happens to be the Marmalade Cupboard. Henceforth capitalised. It's only a narrow little cupboard at the end of the wall cupboards, with 3 shelves. The bottom shelf has a couple of those thermos coffee cup things, a bean sprouter used once vits and pee sticks. The middle shelf has empty jam jars, waiting to be filled, and the top shelf has mucho marmalade and some pickle and jars of vintage jam dating from around 2006.

That is why the pee sticks live in the Marmalade Cupboard. I pee in the wetroom, not the kitchen.

Frankly, I'm concerned about where you all keep your marmalade if you don't have a designated MC.

Second most important thing, I peed on the stick from the MC which gave a negative. I decided it was clearly broken so bought some more from the pound shop.

That gave a negative too.

Will try again tomorrow. I was queuing up in Primark for chuffing ages and felt a degree of pant moistness, and it was all I could do not to stick my hand in my pants there and then to check if it was AF. Just thought I should share that with you.

Thanks for explaining all that whims, I'll be able to get back to work now without wondering about MC and everything Grin Sorry you managed to buy faulty peesticks, I'd take them back and ask for your money back Grin Hope they work better tomorrow.

Imps7 · 28/03/2012 13:42

Whims I wouldn't have held back. I have seen some dubious behaviour in Primark so I doubt anyone's attention would have been unduly drawn to you.

Sorry about the BFN - the marmalade has clearly had a negative impact on the stick's ability to analyse urine properly. And Poundland is known to sell stock of questionable origin*.

I wouldn't worry about it - you are pregnant, pee stick endorsement or no pee stick endorsement.

*For legal reasons, this is not true.

BeedleTheBard · 28/03/2012 13:45

Glad to see that it wasn't just me desperately waiting for the marmalade cupboard update. Grin

whimsicalname · 28/03/2012 13:50

Thank you all very much for your reassurance.

I've got to go and pick up my car now from where i abandoned it the other day and then go and panic buy diesel.

I will make sure I have a large drink on the way so I can pee on more sticks later.

Alternatively Sparks you may have just been sucking on too many lemon sherberts!

Go to the docs though - oral thrush sounds ghastly even though I still don't really understand what it is

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/03/2012 14:27

Whim I am laughing like a crazy lady at my desk. In that quiet way when your shoulders go up and down and make you look a little bit epileptic.
The pee sticks clearly don't understnad what's expected of them. That and the fact it isn't FMU. I am jealous of your wet room. I only have a bathroom to pee in.

Sparks get thee to a doctor ASAP

GenericDietCola · 28/03/2012 14:46

Ooh Whim has a wet room and a Marmalade Cupboard! I am not jealous at all liar. Sorry about the faulty pee sticks, but I'm sure it is just a matter of time before they confirm the blindingly obvious.

Sparks get to the doctor! Sounds yuck.

Imps I am joining you in the definitely pregnant once we have ovulated group. I have decided to make absolutely sure that it happens this month by making a decision to get our cellar converted. I recalled the power of 'the timing couldn't be worse' from one of the early threads, so that should make sure the rat is smacked this month.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/03/2012 14:50

Generic builiding work is a sure fire way of achieving that BFP.

I'm hoping that the combined timings of puppy/allotment/half marathon are all going to converge to give me BFP

GenericDietCola · 28/03/2012 14:53

Maybe there is no need for mere hope because you are brooking no argument. With that combination, you cannot fail. Y'hear me universe?

farfallarocks · 28/03/2012 14:56

shiny my diet has been similarly nutritious, all I feel like is bread and cheese, until you mentioned waffles and now I am salivating at the thought.. Hmmm. DH also mentioning vegetables under his breath a bit at dinner.

Just go with it, in the zita west book it says its cos your body is craving instant energy and to go with it and not to worry if your previously healthy diet has gone a bit squiffy.

whim you are so funny, and I sympathise with the public knicker checking urge. On the MC thread there was a lady who said she had perfected knicker checking in public but she Would Not Share the methodology, maybe I will PM her.

imps you are beginning to show already, you are clearly with child :)

Imps7 · 28/03/2012 14:57

Generic has a cellar!! Helllooooooo posho!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/03/2012 15:03

You are right Imps I feel like a mere commoner. We have Whims and her marmalade cupboard and Generic and her cellar. I have a storage cupboard. Does that count?

Shiny you have got me wanting waffles too. Or chips cheese and may for an alternatively nutritious snack.#

Far how are you? I hope the mentalling has calmed down

Imps7 · 28/03/2012 15:10

I've got several Lock 'n' Locks if that impresses anyone?

Far and Shiny - there's nothing wrong with yellow food so my OH tells me when I insist on serving him stuffed cabbage leaves for dinner

McPopcornMouseNFries · 28/03/2012 15:12

What's a lock n lock Imps?! I have a single understairs cupboard, no cellar, no wet room and no Marmelade Cupboard, sob!
