Avast me hearties!

How are things now faith and enlighten me on the surgical on gynae-ward stuff. It means little (read: nothing) to me.

Well done on the sechsing on prescription, dot, it's been a while since we did that (the on prescription part). Survived first IUI scan this morning, even though it was done by a lady in training, there was one dominant follicle (as expected) but still quite little (as expected, it is bloody cd8) back in a few days (as expected)... That really was worth the trip and the nerves. I brought poor SB with me, cos I am a chicken and it really was not necessary.

Like the menkulling, the change of droid and the school-girl crush all in equal measure norf. Hope the ICs arrive and give you a shocker-result :)

Now you mention the real reasons for your delay in mile-high-ing euro. Nice to have you back, even if you are not here!

Btw I am not going running again until I've been to a fysio, my old injury (knee) is playing up after two 2 mile jogs :(

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 10:37

Aw north that's cute. I got a minor crush on one of the docs recently. I was much the same. Was a relief when he moved on to be honest!
The outlaw is lauraargh is she not? Those ics will come in handy.
Well a growing follicle is good news drizzle even if it's ickle. When do you go back?
Well I've been reviewed and I'm not going anywhere :( Bloods taken, still think it might be my appendix in fact if it isn't, they're stumped so I can have lunch but then am clear fluids in case I need to go to theatre. The ward thing - I should be on a surgical ward but they are short of beds. Therefore I'm on the gynae ward but being looked after by the surgeons, so each day they leave their usual ward to walk up to see me. I'm not the only one up here. I don't mind being here, I'm in a 4 bedded bay with ladies in similar positions so it's not too noisy.

Northey · 23/03/2012 11:17

Full on droidal gore and ouchiness now. Bum. Oh well. Roll on next Futility Clinic.

How will they decide whether or not it's appendix?

Norf sorry to hear that, guess your body was playing games eh? When is next clinic appt?
bugs that's very encouraging that you're noticing those differences. Bet GP will be happy with the boobs growthage, MSB always is Wink
I'm not too stir crazy cos I don't have the energy to do much. Painkillers keep on top of the pain but make ne drowsy. My attention span is crap so I'm varying between watching tv two days free for staff, thank you very much!, listening to music on my phone, checking MN and fb and MSB brought my book in. Been talking to another girl in the bay but she's going home later. I am Envy that she can leave but equally don't want to leave feeling like this.
If my blood work shows infection I think they'll assume appendix and use a camera to get a closer look. If not, they'll just keep monitoring me - observations and more bloods over the weekend.

Northey · 23/03/2012 13:41

Am so fucked off. Right. 2013 baby then...

eurochick · 23/03/2012 14:03

Bugs, I notice that stuff as well. Charting has made me very aware of it.

Faith, I hope you are ok. I bet you wish they would just get on and diagnose something!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 14:10

Sorry norf, it's shit.

Also sorry and sympathies for faith, they really ought to diagnose you before the free tv runs out. At least. Come on!

I just discovered something dreadful. Summertime starting on Sunday, and guess who has an 8:20 scan appointment Shock. That is 7:20, after a night out. I hope they won't decide against treating me if I turn up with a hangover... Oh and little follie is perfectly okay, set for a 27-day cycle which is normal for me.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 15:53

Did I kill the fred?
How are you now, norf?
Any news faith?

Northey · 23/03/2012 16:29

Have eaten a lot of chocolate and necked some painkillers and am feeling a great deal better. Now wondering about a swim (to counteract the choc).

Is it a work assignment, or are you a student type?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 16:51

Swimming might help norf. Generally on cd1 I find it preferable to hibernate!
I'm waiting to hear from the docs about my treatment plan but my pain is getting worse so who knows. Just had some painkillers.
Yes what do you do drizzle?

OP posts:
Northey · 23/03/2012 16:55

It sounds awful, and I can't believe you've been there two whole days and they still haven't sorted it.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 18:26

Honestly I'm not so bad, at least my pain is controlled and they're still trying to find out what's wrong. Last time I was admitted a couple of years ago they didn't believe me I was misdiagnosed initially and it took several days before they believed me realised what was really wrong!
The two girls opposite have been discharged and left me with a stash of girly mags :)
So what are you lot up to this lovely weekend?

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 20:13

Evening sailors!

Any news faith? A stack of girly magazines and pain managed is better than working the wards, but that really is all.

I foolishly agreed to do a course besides work, so on my Friday night I am trying to do a studenty-assignment. I also work 4 days a week, which is why I am much quieter during long periods in the day (now the bloody collar bone is nearly fixed).

Good you are feeling better norf. Nothing like chocolate! Oh and I like exercise on cd1 or 2. It always makes me feel better (and it helps agains cramps too) but swimming is not a favorite at that time of the month, am paranoid...

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 20:14

Weekend plans - finish the assignment - play in the park (if the weather is as good as promised) - be scanned - eat lots. Overal pretty nice :)

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 20:22

Been seen again by reg tonight. I think he thinks it's my appendix. If I get better, I can go home. If I stay the same or get worse and my pain is peaking more frequently and I've been sick tonight they will have a look with a camera have not disclosed as yet which route the camera goes up but I have a fair idea
Is the course interesting drizzle? Or a chore?
norf how you feeling?

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 20:23

Sounds good lem! :) I'm Envy

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 20:26

The course varies a lot, faith. The bit I have been doing most recently has been not that well taught and that is extra disappointing if you are mostly doing it in your own time. And assignments are definitely a chore... But bits of it have been fab.

Sorry about the camera, is it the back entrance? also it sounds like you are actually getting worse. I do hope they can get you better without too much invasive stuff. Toes crossed while I type!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 20:36

I would think it is back door... Confused Yes I don't really mind what they do, even if it means surgery so I can get better and go home!
Argh bad teaching is rubbish isn't it? So infuriating! Assignments are a chore indeed. Always need to be showing you're continuing cpd I suppose.

OP posts:
lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/03/2012 21:07

Fingers crossed not too much is needed. Hope you get well soon.

Here 2/3 of the first draft done. Just need to push on now and get this draft done (have promised myself the day off tomorrow if I manage).

sinkingflameofhilarity · 23/03/2012 21:28

Hey BESH lady-pirates

Sorry to hear about the droidal infestation northey. Cockwank.

Faith, I maybe talking shite, but I think camera to see if you might have appendicitis means laparoscopy, ie, belly button cam.. Backdoor cam less use I fink (add own, usual, exemptions and removal of any professional responsibility etc etc)

My friend emailed me this week. Not yet hit 2 years married and struggling. I had no idea. Feel like a terrible friend. We're going for tea and cake and wine. Bad times

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 21:42

OH well that would be preferable :)
How sad about your friend :( cake and wine sounds like an excellent plan to lubricate the conversation.
Feel a bit pleased that I suggested the doc prescribe antisickness before he left, seems I'm in need of it! Envy

OP posts:
eurochick · 23/03/2012 21:53

Can you get them to check for endo, etc while they are in there? After all a lap is used as part of the fertility checks in some cases. Might as well....

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 23/03/2012 21:57

Probably worth asking, if they're in there anyways! Did a basic gynae ultrasound yesterday that didn't show anything...

OP posts:
sinkingflameofhilarity · 23/03/2012 22:03

Thanks faith. She's looking at a rental to move out to. Sad
