Didn't mean to alarm people. We r all individuals. Yes waiting waiting need a glass of wine but can't have one !Sad

digitalgirl · 02/04/2012 15:41

duggs just goes to show that we should always trust our instincts. Got my fingers crossed for the cgh and transfer tomorrow.

coconut not long to go for you now either. Well done on sorting carseat, baby clothes & Moses basket. That's pretty much all we need right?

Induction at 40 weeks is due to baby being so big. I'm hoping they've got it wrong...

Knackered this afternoon. Have my little brothers round (12yo & 8yo) to amuse ds and all three of them are sat around playing video games Hmm. My excuse is that DS has had a swimming lesson this morning and after lunch we sowed the seeds for this year's herbs and veggies. So that's his education for today...

picolina123 · 02/04/2012 18:27

coconut yes i do chart as well, my temp has not gone up , by now it should be 98.1 at the lowest but its been around 97.5 to 97.8 all mth, i usually ovulate around day 12/13 its now 18.

eurochick · 02/04/2012 18:44

I'm just catching up on the weekend posts and wanted to say to choccy how sorry I was to read your news. My thoughts are with you.

Coconutfeet · 02/04/2012 20:12

Digi - I've got a recipe here given to me by my hypnobirthing teacher for eggplant parmesan. Apparently it's from a restaurant where women go and order it to induce labour. No idea whether it works but am happy to forward it to you if you would like!!

Abney · 02/04/2012 20:13

Hi Duggs Is this your first time of IVF? Gosh reading your post makes me think I now know what my problem is i.e. poor eggs. Do you know for a fact that your issues may be down to poor egg quality. Does the IVF itself cause the embryos to fail? I hope you don't mind me asking but how many MC's have you had? If it helps my DS was number 8 PG although 1 pg was at the age of 26 years ago. I always remember that the scanning lady said it was an irregular pg *just products' and for years when I was trying I always thought they were going to say the same thing i.e. there is nothing there. The other 6 PG's spanned about 4 years prior to DS being born although it is hard to keep track of it all. Now I have had 4 more MC's since DS. Perhaps I have to wait till number 7 again Smile although realistically I think I can only try 2 more times with the mc's as I will be 45 at the end of the year and I am not sure if my body or DH can cope.

Abney · 02/04/2012 20:32

Hi Digitalgirl Yes I will be taking progesterone. I have taken this with all the last 4 MC's. This is the drug that makes you think you are having a MC. Bit of a nightmare. I decided to take this at night in the end as couldn't bear the feeling of it coming back down in the morning Smile.

Freelance thanks for adding me onto the list. Let's hope I get off the first pegging.

Coconut Fragmin is the daily blood thinning injections that you take when you find out you are PG. Next time (if there is a next time) I will be on higher dose of Pred, Asprin, Fragmin, progesterone, intralipids.

Duggs Cross fingers for tomorrow. I hope it is good news.

FrozenNorthPole · 02/04/2012 21:17

Sorry to be AWOL for a while. Feeling a bit despondent about doctors listening to me, but guess that's the NHS: designed to meet the needs of the majority! Being married to one of them sadly doesn't mean that the rest pretend to care. I know this is a v minor moan compared to what many of you are facing though Blush

duggs1976 · 02/04/2012 23:33

Thanks digi and you guys! Yes first ivf shot. 3 mc over past few years no children yet. I'm 35 DH 40. 2nd mc was a trisomy so def egg issue. First and third blighted ovums at 7 and 9 weeks. So won't ever know their cause. Had hoped elevated nk cells was issue of third at least and a few pred cycles would help. 7 cycles later here we r. Not a sniff of a pregnancy. Oh well can't do much more than im doing so off we go tomorrow. Let's hope one of those little blighters is normal GrinGrin please. Hope everyone is alright as they can be with whatever they have going on right now. choccy hope u r coping these early days x

freelancegirl · 03/04/2012 08:56

Hi all,

Abney what is it about Progesterone that makes you feel you are having a mc? Is it the 'fall out' for want of a better description! I do actually remember doing a lot of pant-checking at that time but think I would have been doing it anyway. I have taken progesterone for two pregnancies (one mc and this one until 16 weeks, always chosen the front route) and hated the smell more than anything. I still have phantom whiffs of it now. Your history sounds awful, particularly when you had DS and would fill that you had cracked it only to go on and have more mcs. I guess that might be something the rest of us here are yet to face, if we go on to have another one after the Pred Babies start coming.

Sorry you are feeling a bit crap about doctors Frozen. I think we can all relate to how frustrating that can be. I dealt with it for years before the mcs started, with the thyroid problem, so I can fully relate. So many of them seem to be reluctant to accept any new research or any thinking outside of the box, as it were.

Coconut no idea about the eggplant parmesan inducing labour but I do hope not as I had a big plate of it at the airport :) Can't believe you are almost on maternity leave! Oh and can't have been fun overdosing on the laxatives but glad it doesn't seem to have done any lasting harm.

Duggs am finding all the IVF stuff fascinating. Sorry about the egg situation but good that there have been some healthy ones. I hope you get some good news about it - will you find out today? It does go to show that following instincts is a good idea a lot of the time. It was instincts that also got me to the NK cells diagnosis.

Digi I am sure there is some educational value in video games... Er, training the brain to react quickly...? How are you feeling? Any signs?! You might be pleased to know that there is a bit of drizzle here this morning!

Dunnit when are they booking you in for another IVig? It might be worth, after that, seeing Mr S re intralipids if they think you need more? I know some people aren't confident in the latter at all but others do say it is just as good as IVIG but also a lot cheaper and not human blood products. You must be pleased about stopping the steroids. I know we have all been a bit nervous about stopping them when pregnant, but also relieved to be off them.

Very strange about your sister feeling she has been visited by your spiritual guide PQ Hmm - she might sense that something is up as you say. I think you are fine for waiting until the 12 week scan to tell them though and they will fully understand why you didn't tell them before. Great that you have been accepted by St T's!

I have some nice summery things that I took to St Lucia, will happily come round with a few bits and pieces before you go if you want to borrow anything. Of course might taste might be different than yours (I do like a bright coloured dress!) but there are a few practical things in there too like black and also white cropped trousers (maternity ones though).

Hello to quick pop-in-posters including Stogan and Comedy! I hope it is all going well for you. Euro how are you getting on with everything?

Pico I was an avid temper and charter for just one cycle (but I DID do a lot of research into it and I DID actually get pregnant, albeit one that turned out to be a mc). Can;t help you am afraid as I did it in centigrade and don't have a clue about Fahrenheit. Hope you have managed to sort it out now and things have become a bit clearer.

Choccy hope things are going as well as they can do in the circumstances. Do you have a date for the funeral yet? I do hope it all goes well.

Off to the market here after breakfast etc and also really need to do some work.

Have been having quite a lot of movement from the baby which has been fun to watch. It still feels so surreal! Oh, and 24 weeks today so here is another milestone. Viability - supposedly!

duggs1976 · 03/04/2012 09:52

Wow free what a milestone.
Yes I turn up at 1.30pm to find out if any of my 4 embryos survived and if any are normal enough to replace. V nervousSad I know I can't affect the outcome but if there are none the out of 19 eggs none would be viable that tells me something. Can't wait for today to be over. Waves to everyone.

PQ77 · 03/04/2012 12:19

just a quick one to say thinking of you duggs xx

duggs1976 · 03/04/2012 12:26

Thanks pq feel like free did at her 6 wk st Mary's scan !! And I'm not even half way to that point yet. Hideous. Why do I even want children I am saying ? Aren't animals enough? Should know if any of my 4 are good enough in an hour. Just waiting for my pre transfer acupuncture session that may well be a waste of time ! Fingers crossed. Hope u ok pQ

GreenOlives · 03/04/2012 13:15

Good luck Duggs I have everything crossed for you!

Free Yay for 24 weeks, that's a fantastic milestone Smile

I have just spent the morning cuddling my friend's one week old little girl, she is absolutely adorable, all cuddly and snuffly Smile It makes me even more broody!

Arianrhod · 03/04/2012 14:01

lurking for duggs news ...

Stogan · 03/04/2012 14:12

Everything crossed for duggs x

Havingkittens · 03/04/2012 15:51

Best of luck duggs

duggs1976 · 03/04/2012 16:18

Yeah Grin out if my 4 embryos 3 came back chromosonally normal and 1 quite abnormal!!! So pleased. They transferred 2 and froze one. So interesting the CGH test. Anyway if first bit of positive news I've been able to post on here in 8 mths. Now for pregnancy test 16 April. But just so relieved not to be full of dud eggs x

freelancegirl · 03/04/2012 16:27

Oh my god Duggs! That all seems to have happened so quickly! Great that there were three good embryos. Does that mean if both 'take' (is that the right word?) you could be looking at twins...? Great news anyway.

I have been wandering round shops, tapas bars etc with DH and my mum. We actually ventured into baby shops for the first time and dared to look at some clothes. There are a bit too many of them here so I feel I have baby clothes overload! My hips and back are killing me so back at home now to chill.

Oh I've discovered 0% lager and I love it! Washing down the tapas with it feels just like having a nice cold beer. better actually as I am not a huge beer fan :)

igggi · 03/04/2012 16:27

Oh Duggs, I'm so pleased for you, was scared to click on this afternoon in case it was bad news - but quite the opposite!

Havingkittens · 03/04/2012 16:47

That's great news duggs. I will be watching with interest! I think if I do end up going for IVF I may well go the same route. Suspect I will have rather less eggs to choose from though.

free, yes 0% beer does satiate a craving and seems to be very popular in Spain. When you get back, the Becks one is pretty good and also Waitrose have quite a nice one. Also, the Torres Natureo is not half bad - 0% white wine (made like regular wine then the alcohol is removed - which is why it costs as much as alcoholic wine). Obviously not as good as the real thing but a good substitute with the warm weather coming.

digitalgirl · 03/04/2012 17:10

Yay duggs that is fab fab news! Sooooo, when do you test? I imagine you have to wait till the hcg from the ivf treatment has left your system so you don't get a false positive? Or am I making that up?

free and yay for viability!!!

Clearly a good news day. I have had fresh pineapple for breakfast and three cups of raspberry leaf tea. Plus cuddles with a newborn this morning. Here's hoping...

Arianrhod · 03/04/2012 17:11

Fabulous news, I'm so pleased for you!! Roll on HPT time :)
