Hi euro had another cd11 scan today. I have 10 follicles around 17 and 18mm and another 5 a bit smaller. Overall they seemed v pleased. Back tomorrow for a further scan to see if I take trigger inj tue or wed with egg collection thurs or fri. Then they need to fertilise and then the good ones get sent for chromosonal testing. Then we see what we r left with?! Is quite fascinating as I must say ivf is a piss in the wind compared to our nk cells protocol so anyone who winges on about ivf just phhhhh at them. (she says halfway thru b4 having egg collection or transfer or excruciating 2 WW) Blush ahh well.
So far it is easier than the rest of the crap we've all been thru !! Waves to everyone.

duggs1976 · 26/03/2012 19:36

Oh and 15.mm lining will be like the princess and the pea in there Wink

duggs1976 · 26/03/2012 19:39

Ohh and iggi yes those Dreams free maybe it is just the hormones and the hero status he has become her mind Wink

PQ77 · 26/03/2012 20:21

Oooh igggi that snuza thing looks great! Friends of mine have complained about the false alarms from the mats and this looks like a much better product. NZ has a mysteriously high rate of SIDS it's something I've always been hyper aware of...

duggs - sounds like everything is going really well with the ivf prep!

9 week scan today - good hb, right sort of size (have lost a day which mr s unconcerned about but of course I seized on anything slightly negative and dh had to talk me down afterwards from my minor freak out - lucky dh was there, hadnt realised how much it had been getting to me going to all these scans and appts by myself.)

Thanks for the CP advice everyone. Mr S v unconcerned since I know for sure I've had it. Appears that pred as of itself doesn't increase the risk of getting it twice.

PQ77 · 26/03/2012 20:24

euro - the pimms chat got me going too... My last glass of wine was on 5 jan...oh it was sooo nice...is dh joining you in abstaining? Makes it a bit easier I think. That or I make dh drink in another room so I can't smell it!

ChoccyPud · 26/03/2012 21:27

Great news PQ that is such a fantastic milestone to reach... Big hugs to you. And you can taper off the Pred too. Grin

V snoozy here so I'm off to bed. Isn't it ironic that trying to produce a new life make one feel so bloody old and tired?!

CareBear1 · 26/03/2012 21:42

Hi there, do you mind if I ask if any of you are having treatment for immunes with Mr S, whilst having IVF under NHS at a different clinic? Does that work do you know? thanks. x

eurochick · 26/03/2012 21:45

I will be Carebear, when I start IVF. Mr S just prescribed his IVF protocol which runs alongside the IVF. I haven't started it yet though.

CareBear1 · 26/03/2012 22:03

Thanks euro.

freelancegirl · 27/03/2012 00:41

He is indeed my hero! He needs to start wearing a cape and one of those nifty eye masks.

Hello CareBear! I think my friend Pebbles is being treated for high NKC and just about to return to IVF with the NHS at the same time. She does pop in here and also the Super Ovulation thread, so might be able to help you. And Euro of course and I do believe a couple of the other are contemplating it too. What's your situation? Do hang around and chat if you fancy.

PQ that is amazing news about the 9 week scan. It is really a great milestone. Glad DH could go along with you too. I lost a day here and there and gained the odd day too, don't worry about it at all.

Is your DH abstaining too PQ? fat chance of mine doing so.

Mind you, we don't tend to drink at home, only when we go out. But I imagine if we had a child already we would be more likely to crack open a bottle occasionally at home. And we have always traditionally gone out quite a lot, admittedly! As you might all recall, the midwife asked if I had a drink dependency when I said I was drinking ten units a week. I still hope she might have misheard me!

Hello to Duggs, Choccy, Iggi, Euro and anyone else who popped in in between my most recent post. Am now back at home in London and got a busy week or work, social events and house-searching ahead before going to Spain on Sunday.

Oh, my most exciting news of the day is my Dream Genii pillow arrived! Can't wait to try it out tonight.

igggi · 27/03/2012 06:46

Argh I will stay off this thread late at night - I did indeed dream about HIM, had an appointment and all went well until one of his mice (?) ran up my leg and started biting me.

GreenOlives · 27/03/2012 08:50

PQ Great scan news! That's fantastic! Grin

I'm feeling a little grossed out by the talk of dreams of Mr S, I know pregnancy/pred brings with it the vivid dreams but I hope he doesn't crop up in mine! I'm glad you just mentioned cape and mask Free, not underpants over tights Wink Grin

Arianrhod · 27/03/2012 10:19

Morning ladies

I just read something interesting on BC. A lady (40 years old) has posted that Mr S "also tested my AMH, which was low. He said therefore that because the steroids could affect your cycles maybe for someone with low fertility like me, it would be better to wait until BFP to start.".

That interested me - has anyone else been told by Mr S not to start steroids until BFP?

And another question for you all, can't believe I'm having to ask this as my AF has always been pretty straightforward until the past couple. What do you count as day one? TMI alert - I've had some v v light bleeding this morning - more than just "spotting" but not enough that I'd need to use ahem sanitary-wear for, IYKWIM. So do I count this as my first day, or tomorrow when the 'flow' will be more? I only need to know because I have to have those day 1 to 3 bloods taken, and I'm not sure whether today counts as day one or not.

Never been an issue till after this last MC, since my AFs have always been very clear-cut as to when they start! Confused

OP posts:
ChoccyPud · 27/03/2012 11:13

Ari I think I'd count from when you need more than just a pant liner.

Anyway, with a view to being optimistic, could be implantation bleeding...

Rather down about my Dad this morning. He was released Friday evening but taken to A&E Sunday night with chest pain. He'd developed a DVT whilst in hospital (cheers!) and it's broken down with the fragmin to give him a pulmonary embolism. The stomach problem seems ok now but it's so unfair that he's been left with something else to cope with. Worried about my step mum too as she's exhausted herself. I'm doing my best to not panic- the medics all seem fairly calm and there's no emergency- and I guess it keeps my mind occupied away from pg/mc. And I'm aware that he's keen to hear my ongoing news (ie today I am still pg...) which gives him a lift too.

Sorry for me-ness just had to get that out.

Waves to all

Arianrhod · 27/03/2012 11:23

hahahaha choccy I love your optimism :) Lemme see ... CD27 when I usually start AF 'proper' on CD28, ongoing cramps ... bleeding ... mmm don't think implantation bleeding, but nice idea :)

Oh lord, your poor Dad ... I'm so very sorry to hear of this extra worry. Have you family around where your step-mum and Dad live that could help out, I remember you said they're about 100 miles from you? hugs to you, it's horrible when things like this happen to people we love.

OP posts:
freelancegirl · 27/03/2012 11:45

Oh Choccy that's terrible about your dad - particularly as it is something that has been brought on by actually being in hospital. It is good that they have caught it. My Nan had a fall about four years ago, didn't break anything but when she was in hospital she caught C Diff super bug and then because of that got a clot on her lungs. It was so frustrating to know that her main problems were caused because of the bloody stay in hospital. She has been on Warfarin ever since but that was 4 years ago and now she is 97 so, hopefully, there are good prospects for your dad too.

I was never really sure of when to count CD1 either Ari and it sounds like light periods don't help.

Oh my goodness Iggi, maybe Mr S is actually busy experimenting on mice before he loads us up with pharmaceuticals...?!

snoopygirl · 27/03/2012 12:06

Ha Ha free on the experimenting thing. If he did read this he'd think we were a load of nutcases, if he doesn't already!!

Choccy so sorry about your dad really hope he improves quickly.

ari I asked this of Louise once and she said take the first day of proper dark blood/flow, like choccy saidf from when you need tampon thick towel etc. That's interesting re post on bc board. Are you having fertility tests in next few days then? Sorry lose track so many people on here.

I've had to start the Omerprazole daily at moment as had really bad tummy cramps yesterday to point I had to lie down and stabbing cramps on one side ths morning. So taking them just incase. More bloody tablets!

Arianrhod · 27/03/2012 12:18

Thanks free and snoopy, I'll take it as tomorrow then. Yes snoopy, Louise asked me to get my LH/FSH/E2 tested with a view to then doing superov, so that's what I'm about to do. Did the Omeprazole help your cramps, out of interest? Nasty side-effects :(

PQ well done on the 9 week scan! That really is fantastic news!!!

snoopy when's your test date?

battery do you have 20 week scan this week?

choccy sorry to hear your dad's having more problems to deal with. Remember to take it easy yourself though.

duggs excellent news on the mass-production of follies and fat lining! How many will you have put in do you think?

ari sorry bout AF Sad. I'd always read to count cd1 as first day of full red flow - not spotting or brown.

Dsis has been v helpful today - picking up ds from pre-school and managed to get the baby carseat cover off properly and into the washing machine - it's hanging up to dry now, completely cats-piss-smelling-free. Much happier Grin.

And DH went to Ikea last night for some smart storage boxes - so our new cupboards are all organised. Really can't think what is left to do...

Arianrhod · 27/03/2012 16:32

digi ... have the baby? Grin

OP posts:
duggs1976 · 27/03/2012 18:02

Well digi all set to go!! When is oficial d day? I will have one put back. At 35 yrs they won't do 2. I am triggering tomorrow with egg collection Friday ( I sound like a hen). There are about 20 follicles there over 10mm. About 15 around 18mm mark or there abouts. Dr thinks we'll get between 8 and 16 eggs so ok with that. Let's see. Waves to everyone. Pebbles did u see post from care?

ChoccyPud · 27/03/2012 19:53

Thanks ladies for your good wishes for my Dad. I spoke to him earlier and although he was flying high on morphine(!) he is feeling much better now they have a plan of action to sort out the embolism, and is determined to get through the latest blip. And I'm doing all I can to keep focused on myself and look after me, which is rather alien in terms of work, but I'm sure I'll manage!

Blimey duggs that is a huge number of follicles... Well it sounds it to me, I don't know what averages are for IVF cycles. I'm sure you said on Saturday, but do they freeze the embryos they don't put back so you can have them transferred later if necessary?

I agree it would be encouraging to have a few more bfp's and first trimester ladies... It's difficult to say why of course but there are an awful lot of people on the wttc/waiting to ov lists who we haven't heard from for a while, so we can't move them to where they perhaps should be. I do hope all is ok.

Looks like Snoopy is next up to poas, if Ari is sure she's out this month. Fingers crossed!
