oh choccy I reckon I have an instant "picnic" flag go up next to my name whenever I call our IT helpline on a daily basis . I am a definite case of PIWNIB too, and cannot wait to start tapering the 'roids on Monday as I really cannot talk any faster than I already am. Someone told me to take a deep breath today! Really in a bit of a state.

Thank you for all your patience with the brown spotting bore. Last scan showed no patches of bleeding left so if it is something it is something new. Had to describe to DH over the phone - he is now at the stage where he inspects knickers too (!), so he needed a detailed description. Oh the romance! And to think he used to get faint at the sight of a spot of blood or vomit...

kittens I know you're really close to your granny - so sad what's happening.

free hope you manage to rebalance yourself...somehow! Grin

mercator · 20/03/2012 20:37

choccy whispering a nervous congrats!
ari fingers crossed AF doesn't show her face
kittens so sorry to hear about your grandmother hope you're feeling a little better.
Stogan lovely to hear your news and to see your husband has treated you to a rather lovely eternity ring!

pq hope things settle soon and no more spotting. May just be the blood working its way out. positive they couldn't see anything on the scan - hold onto that!

ChoccyPud · 20/03/2012 20:56

Oh kittens I'm sorry to hear about your gran, you've had it so hard lately, which I'm sure doesn't help the reaction to the added hormone stuff. Thanks for your good wishes x

PQ only one more day before your scan. Might it be breakthrough bleeding? You're 8 weeks now aren't you? Just a thought. Everything crossed obviously.

free you cracked me up with the sending sperm thing. You need to send a "wait and return" courier to DH. Just make sure there's no "handling fee"... Fnar - and full credit to kittens :)

Waves to all especially mummy stogan and thanks Merc for your good wishes. I'm off to bed in a sec, I'm wiped out. Waking at 4 can't help!

digitalgirl · 20/03/2012 21:30

stogan enjoy those lovely yummy baby snuggles!

PQ Not long till that scan. Doesn't help with the mentalling though. I remember getting a bit of brown spotting the day before a scan - was glad I was having the scan so soon but also it meant that I was so nervous leading up to it. Hopefully you can distract yourself tomorrow with other stuff. Re: roid mania, I remember that well too! I was running around like a nutter and I was only on 25mg.

greenolives Sorry you're suffering with insomnia. I was lucky that I didn't really wake up once asleep, but it was getting to sleep in the first place that I had trouble with. Often not till 1:30am, having spent the night be cleaning the house frantically (or baking a cake to feed the steroid appetite).

choccy well done on getting those intralipids in you super sharp. You're doing absolutely everything you can now...the rest is up to fate. Think feeling detached at this stage (and even much further on) is very very normal.

ari have my fingers crossed for you this cycle.

kittens glad Sunday with your aunt and gran was nice, if a little sad.

free Two weeks till viability is amazing. It feels like time's starting to speed up for you now. Yay for no UTI.

I asked today if my urine was tested for infection with each visit to the clinic and it is, so the cramping I've been getting isn't down to an infection. To be honest, I've been getting cramps since about 12 weeks - they're just a lot more intense now.

And GOOD NEWS I do not have gestational diabetes! The GTT results confirmed it. So have celebrated with a hot cross bun in the afternoon and a little white chocolate champagne truffle (from a mini-pack DS bought me for Mother's Day). As baby is big, the consultant is keen for me not to go over 40 weeks - which is fine by me I don't want to go over 40 weeks either. So if nothing happens naturally earlier, I'm booked in for a sweep at 39 weeks and then have an appointment on my due date to discuss an induction. Have told DH we need to start encouraging this baby to come naturally...he wants it to come at the end of next week as he has so much on at work. I want it to come on Monday .

House is ready now. Porch finished, floor laid, shelves up and filled. Just need to get the smell of cats out of the loaned carseat. (oh and about another 30 things on my to do list - like sort out everything to give the account for my tax return so I can work out how much money I actually have for maternity leave).

Just looking at the list - I think we can move frozen and mercator up to the 2nd trimester, yes? Amazing to see more ladies moving up the list!

Coconutfeet · 20/03/2012 21:35

Oh brilliant news Choccy and great that you've been able to get the intralipids so quickly. Smile

PQ- Just what you don't need at the moment. I really hope it tails off and turns out to be nothing. BTW, did they tell you to stop taking aspirin (are you on aspirin??) when they found the haematoma? I had one, discovered my Mr S, and he said to stop the aspirin as it can cause more bleeding. Just a thought.

The whole house thing is an utter pain isn't it free. I'm so fed up of trailing ds round loads of places each weekend. In fact if our buyers do drop out, I think I'll see it as a bit of a welcome break before we let things refresh a bit.

Great to hear you're doing so well Stogan.

Great news on the GD and the house Digi. Acupuncture can apparently be quite good for helping things along if you don't fancy a shag or a hot curry.

I'm completely knackered. Had to be observed lumbering around the classroom teaching today, which is always really stressful. Think I might hop into bed in a few minutes.

Hope everyone else is OK.

picolina123 · 21/03/2012 07:19

pq try an distract yourself as much as poss today and tomm you can stop stressing, your not boring us , thats what we are all here for .
kittens sorry about your granma, i lost mine 10 years ago and i still miss her.
stogan so lovely to hear from you, been wondering how you have been going .
free your sounding really well, how do you keep the mentalling away?

im finally sick of being depressed about my weight and not having a plan in place , went for an hour walk on mon and will go again today and cutting out carbs in my evening meal, i just have to look at carbs to put on weight! if i can just get my belly down ( its never been so big) i will be happy and wont look like porky on holiday.

PQ77 · 21/03/2012 08:54

great news about getting the all clear for GD digi - sounds like you are ready to go!

hope you had a good night's sleep coconut, I would hate to be observed doing my job, don't think I would get particularly good feedback at the moment...about the aspirin; Mr S said to stop immediately if I had any more red bleeding, he said it was ok to take it when I saw him as the patch of bleeding had come away (so there wasn't a great big sack of blood looming iyswim).

As it is I have just had more brown spotting this morning - luckily noone else was in the cubicles at work when I exclaimed "!!" Busy day at work so I will distract myself like you suggest pico. Am just in the pragmatic frame of mind at the moment hoping I don't have a massive bleed all over my pale coloured dress at my client lunch today...

How's everyone else today?

Buster76 · 21/03/2012 08:57

Hello all!
Just a quick question!
Mr S has seen my blood results, I have high oestrogen levels!! Just another complication to add to the long list!!
I have to see him tomorrow. Does anyone know what this might mean or what treatment he will suggest?
My periods are now all over the place thanks to the steroids! I'm getting so very fed up!!
He wouldnt do a telephone consultation, so nice 10 hour round trip tomorrow, lovely!!

xxxx

p.s nice news choccy Wink

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 09:50

Morning all! digi fantastic news about the GD, what a relief! Def. worth spoiling yourself a little to celebrate :)

kittens so sorry to hear of the situation with your gran. With everything else you're going through as well, I really think you can be forgiven any kind of emotional explosions, whether hormonally-fuelled or not. And yes, that's exactly what I get with T-Day (Testing Day :) ) ... never heard of the room temperature thing tho, I don't trust internet cheapies so don't use them, but it's an interesting thought!

PQ crossing fingers for your scan today, come and tell us the good news when you can. Never mind the client lunch! :)

olives did you get some better sleep last night, or are you zzzzzzzz this morning? :)

choccy how're them lines doing, and how is your Dad?

free how's the house-hunting going, and the itching?? Did you resort to the bicarb?

/waves to all, hope you're all having a good morning!

OP posts:
Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 09:51

buster I have no clue about high oestrogen levels I'm afraid, PITA that you have to do such a long journey to find out though. Why can't Mr S do a telephone consultation? He could still bill for it, I would have thought, so it can't be that? Good luck for the appt tomorrow, let us know what he says!

OP posts:
Buster76 · 21/03/2012 10:10

Thanks Ari
Apparently never does telephone consults, always wants to see you face to face. I said I would pay for a full consultation over the phone but cheryl said there would be no point in asking because she knows he will say no. Bugger!!
Have you had your tests yet? x

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 10:20

Well that's a bit pants buster, I do understand that face-to-face is easier but if the client requests it and is going to have to travel so far just for a meeting, surely it could be done over the phone?

No, no tests yet - I'm only 7dpo today, have to wait for day 1-3 of next cycle to get the bloods taken. Doc has kindly filled out the form for me already, I just have to pick it up and go to the walk-in clinic at stupid-o'clock in the morning again to get the blood taken. I can wait for that! :)

OP posts:
Buster76 · 21/03/2012 10:27

Things we have to do!! Maybe you wont need to if you get a BFP?! Wink xx

PQ77 · 21/03/2012 10:42

thanks ari - scan is at 10am tomorrow, so you've got another 24 hours of me being a PITA!

Arianrhod · 21/03/2012 11:27

Ha! I can hope, buster :)

PQ ... you're definitely not a PITA, you's a normal pred-threader who's had too much experience at what might go wrong to just sit back and happily accept anything that might appear. We all know and understand!

OP posts:
FrozenNorthPole · 21/03/2012 16:37

Just moving myself into the second trimester Grin Mercator, I would have moved you too but wasn't sure if it would seem rude!

Good luck PQ and Digi hurrah for no-GD and freedom to scoff nice things. Apologies for perpetual absence of proper personals.

I seem to have seamlessly moved on to mentalling about 2nd tri miscarriage and premature labour though Sad - have called my consultant to ask about progesterone injections that may help prevent premature labour (DD2 was a 35 weeker) but of course he's not in. Doesn't he know I'm paranoid? Blush

digitalgirl · 21/03/2012 17:34

frozen was there any reason found for your premature labour? Is there any evidence that progesterone will help? Some women just have early labours - I know a friend who's had 3 babies all around the 35/36 week mark. Not dismissing your concerns just hoping that there's nothing to worry about.

pq hoping no more brown splodges since this morning.

ari well done on holding out with the testing today.

choccy yes, how's that second line coming along?

pico I found exercise (running 2-3 times a week) and cutting out carbs after 6pm was quite effective for helping me shift the weight.

Had my birthing centre assessment today. They're happy to have me - yay! And the mw was so encouraging about all of my concerns - and they practice all of the things on my birthing plan. Just need this baby to hold on till midnight on Sunday night when I officially turn 37 weeks.

igggi · 21/03/2012 17:51

Hello, just wanting to wish everyone well, ds not likely to let me stay online for long. Regarding premature labour, I was speaking to a man today randomly who told me his granddaughter had twins, delivered at 25 weeks. Now a year old and doing fine. They must've been tiny.

mercator · 21/03/2012 20:08

Hi All

Frozen wouldn't have minded you moving me up at all, and and thank you Digi for doing it - seems a big step! Strange although my family and my boss now know I still don't feel confident in telling anyone else. I'm sure over time it will just come out.

Digi it's getting really close for you now, really exciting just pleased you are sorted at home and with the birthing centre!! And Coconut, Comedy and Iggi you're not far behind!Grin

Good luck to all those waiting to test and waiting to ovulate, we need some more good news!

Hope everyone's enjoying the lovely weather. For the first time in ages I played truant and spent an hour in the garden at lunchtime, just to get out of my office! Bliss.

picolina123 · 22/03/2012 06:53

pq good luck, its finally here, just a couple of hours for you to set your mind a ease.
digital ive started cutting out carbs in the evening , and going for long walks , did about 2 hours in total yest. my joints are killing me though, def dont run , have you see that ep of phoebe in friends running in the park? thats how i run! not a good look!!

ChoccyPud · 22/03/2012 07:45

Morning all. That visual made me smile pico. Take it easy, your body's been through a lot lately.

Well it's still a BFP on FRER. DH was adamant its darker than Monday. It appeared really quickly and although still paler than the control line, it is thicker. So, for today, at all of 4.0, I am still pg... Only 22 weeks days til my scan, assuming nothing goes awry in the interim.

Woke up at 2.30 again which was NOT fun. I'm really hot all the time esp in bed, like a radiator, so I'm also keeping poor dh awake. Whether the hotness is pg or fighting off an "infection" again, only time will tell.

PQ massive good wishes for today, will be lurking for news x

GreenOlives · 22/03/2012 08:26

Morning ladies!
I'm pleased to discover I'm not the only one that runs like Phoebe pico! Wink Grin Not that I make a habit of running at all!

Digi Great news on the birth centre and the lack of GD Grin I'm sure bean will oblige and wait until 37 weeks before trying to break free!

PQ I have everything crossed for your scan today.

Well done Mercator and Frozen for getting to 2nd trimester - I hope that means that there is slightly less mentalling for you now!

Buster that really is a long trip to see Mr S, hope the consultation throws some light on things for you. I really don't understand why he doesn't do telephone consultations either!

Choccy Great news on a darkening line! 2.30am is not so good though Sad hope you get some better sleep tonight.

Ari I am most definitely still zzzzzzz! This was not helped by another 13 hour shift yesterday! Did sleep a bit better last night, lots of very random dreams and waking up but I did manage to drop back off. How about you?

Not feeling very positive about testing tomorrow. I did have sore boobs for the last few days but that has gone today so I guess that means AF is looming Sad Oh well, it would have been a bit much to expect success on my first try on treatment I suppose! I am seeing my NHS consultant tomorrow and I am hoping he will take over my care now I have a treatment plan (he said he would at my last appt) so at least I won't be so poor! Smile

snoopygirl · 22/03/2012 08:27

yes good Luck pQ hope all turns out ok and brilliant news so far for you choccy
keep the good news coming Smile

pico know what you mean about running personally I don't think it's good for me, hurts my knee. Walking is just as effective but can understand some get a kick out of running.........well I can't actually but each to their own!!Grin

Arianrhod · 22/03/2012 09:03

Bugger, my PC crashed just as I was posting my message :(

Basically just said ...

Morning ladies .. pico mental picture made me smile too, I'm very sure that's exactly how I look when I run too so I try not to inflict it on the world too often!

PQ Huge luck for today, not that I think you'll need it! :)

choccy ... remember PUPO :) Good to see you have DH involved in the mentalling headaches that we put ourselves through, it's high time the menfolk had a share in the stresses we have to go through!

/waves to everyone, hope you all enjoy the scorcher (well, for this time of year!) we're supposed to have today.
